I hope they'll show the truth about ignorant authorities that tried to deny this catastrophe, when ingenuous people were risking their lives to save Europe.

Yep.. Vilnius would have to be evacuated. But winds usually blow to the east at least. This one better be safe because that area is best Belarussian land without radiation from Chernobyl too

Is it a tv show or a film?
2019-04-05 02:46
TV Series by HBO. It will probably be really good, HBO is top notch.

good actors btw the film cinematics could be more grainy and the contrast color correction should be darker otherwise looks noise
2019-04-05 22:01
Why? Just because Chernobyl happened in the 80s doesn't mean the show needs to look like it was filmed in the 80s. I think they did a pretty good job capturing the rawness of the Soviet Union. Colors could maybe be a little more drab overall (however bright colors are probably used to make certain things standout) but I like the film style, feels very raw.
2019-04-05 22:21
it would give the film more atmosphere. thats the reason i love USA movies because they always focus on the cinematics. These cinematics as far as i saw in the trailer reminds me of german movies who doesnt care about any cinematic color corrections at all. Have to see and wait ...but no matter what will be a great movie thats for sure
2019-04-05 22:24
To each their own. I really like the color correction used here. It definitely seems intentional. Instantly reminded me of Shutter Island where I thought it played into the overall creepiness and unknown theme behind that movie. I think they are going for something similar here.

would prefer it being in russian with english subs tbh. ruins the immersion with all of them speaking english
2019-04-05 22:06
They've got some pretty top notch actors, would be a shame to downgrade them purely because they can't speak Russian.

What is the point of the series, the reactor blew up and they are trying to save people from radiation and somehow put the radiation out which is literally impossible, what should i watch the series for?

supersus being in chernobyl best series of all time
2019-04-05 22:47
I saw s1mple at a grocery store in chernobyl yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen snickers in his hands without paying.

Manual for Survival by Kate Brown came out a few weeks ago if anyone is really interested in Chernobyl.
