ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/tNknfH ONLY FOR CSGO after 2-3 months I would upgrade RAM from 8 to 16gb good or bestest ?
2019-04-14 03:01
i5-8400 and u good
2019-04-14 03:02
really? 2.8 ghz and not overclockable ? vs 4.0 ghz and unlocked
2019-04-14 03:04
Both turbo to 4ghz. With the i3 you could OC above the 4ghz, sure, but you would probably still get better value with the i5 having more cores in the end. Seeing how the difference between them in price isn't that big, you could probably go with 8400 and still don't break a budget of 1k (if you have one will say).
2019-04-14 03:12
8350K is better for CSGO overall
2019-04-15 08:46
cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core.. i5 8400 is the best low cost cpu for gaming. don't forget a good 144hz+ monitor
2019-04-14 03:12
like i said ONLY CSGO and csgo doesn't need 6 cores and needs higher clock speeds
2019-04-14 19:14
You are right. Go with the unlocked i3.

get a 1x8 stick even though dual channel for 2x4 is gonna be a bit faster, itll be more convient in the end when you get the other stick so you don't end up giving up the faster speeds of dual channel from the 2x8.

if you have 144hz monitor, you only need 144 fps, without the overclock is more than enough lol

do you even have a 144hz monitor? lol, if you did, you would know I was right, spanish noob
2019-04-17 19:31
i had several 144hz monitors and now i own a 240hz and i can notice easily how playing 144 fps vs 300 fps even having a 144hz monitor it's better, i mean i can see it right now how more smooth and fast it's the game without the 144 fps cap.

wtf are you talking about, do you even read, 144hz is 144hz, is not because you have 300 fps or 1000 fps that your monitor will support more than 144hz, if you weren't dumb what would you like to be?
2019-04-17 21:10
could also get the 9400F, which is a bit higher base clock and has no iGPU, its probs the best budget 6 core pure gaming cpu right now :()

You don't need more than 8gb RAM if you are just gonna play Csgo I have similar setup but with 960 I get constant 200 fps you might get more go with it
2019-04-14 03:09
nice man do you drop frames when you have like spotify open or smth similar ?
2019-04-14 03:13
I have multiple tabs of Firefox open, discord and local music streaming platform similar to Spotify and I don't notice any massive fps drop sometimes it does drop to 160-180 but averages out to 200

Get i5 8400 and cheaper mobo and use stock cooler
2019-04-14 19:17
Shit, i5 8400 and a b360 motherboard more cheap than i3 8350k and u can also buy 16gb ram with the saved money, dont buy 1060 outdated, buy 1660 or 1660ti, you are welcome, u can also consider newer i5 9400 instead of 8400 depends on the prices.

Dude, get a cheaper mainboard, ur i3 will never ever draw so much power that ur VRMs on a cheap Z370 can't handle it. Just buy the cheapest Z370 if u want to overclock, you really don't need such an expensive board for such a CPU, u will never go above 1.4V (plenty for 5GHz) and that gives you only like 90-100W. MSI uses cheap Niko MOSFETs anyways so they won't have better efficiency than a low-end mainboard. Maybe u are able to buy 16GB of ram then, this would give you much more value.
2019-04-14 19:21
550W overkill for that configuration. 1060 6gb overkill for CS:GO, then I'd rather get a better CPU. The RAM you chose sucks. 3000MHZ Ram, please.
2019-04-14 19:23
3000MHz RAM is not required with Intel Processors, only Ryzen benefits more from higher RAM clockspeed
2019-04-15 21:02
exactly, the difference between 2400 and 3000 on an intel (especially low-end one) is like 5 fps or less.

Ryzen Shit at CSGO tbh ... bought myself a Ryzen 1700 and overclocked it to 3.8 GHz, but any i7>my ryzen :(

2019-04-18 02:56
i bought a used i5 4690k for like 60$ a few months ago and i get steady 300-400 fps with gtx 970 lol
2019-04-14 19:37
nice joke steady 300-400 lmao
2019-04-15 08:43
it is steady 300-400 lmao, on rare situations it goes down to 250 if there is a big team fight with smokes etc, it got average 375 fps on the benchmark map
2019-04-15 18:49
yeah man sure what a joke again
2019-04-15 20:10
"team fight" in csgo
2019-04-16 03:20
lol i meant rushing with ur whole team with with flash, smokes etc
2019-04-16 08:12
Even my i5 2500k@4.8ghz from 2011 gets 250 on average in 5on5, if not more at times. Only on deathmatch server it drops lower.
2019-04-15 20:32
average is diffrent word from steady 300-400!!!
2019-04-15 21:18
what average is literally the same lmao
2019-04-16 21:13
at least 3kmhz
2019-04-14 19:36
almost more vram than actually ram, furthermore, you bought a video card much more powerful than your processor, getting a better processor should be your top 1 prority now then expand your ram
2019-04-14 19:36
but its good nevertheless :)
2019-04-14 19:37
I got a laptop with a 144hz screen 16gb ram gtx 1060 and an i7 9750h for only $60 more. Dont buy that cpu please it's a waste of money
2019-04-14 19:38
any desktop pc > laptop at gaming
2019-04-15 21:03
So a desktop with a gtx 960 is better then a laptop with a gtx 1060?
2019-04-15 22:53
Depends, but you are right, I made a mistake there: Any desktop > a gaming laptop in the older GPU Gen. (GTX 960m, ...) GTX 1060 in Desktop vs GTX 1060 in Laptop, desktop wins
2019-04-16 18:28
well no shit ofc but there is also many upsides to a laptop. For example I have a desktop with a gtx 1070 and a ryzen 7 1700x. It's beautiful and I made it look really good but it's not portable at all. I am a student for software design so I have a laptop with a 8750h and a gtx 1060. The laptop is much more portable and I can bring it to my friends house, on vacation, to school ect.
2019-04-16 21:07
Yeah, your right, portability is the key difference ... if you're a student, i understand totally why u go for a laptop :D
2019-04-17 18:42
i got both and i like both for different reasons
2019-04-17 21:51
thats completly fine :)
2019-04-18 13:37
Csgo is cpu based game. Get a better processor and a worse graphics card
2019-04-14 19:38

you wont be able to overclock that much with this air fan, so a i5-9400F would do better and since it comes with stock cooler you could use the extra money you saved from hyper 212 cooler and buy extra 4gb ram.

Go for i5-8400 If you wanna play more games or other stuffs like editing etc go for Ryzen 5 2600 (cheaper than those)
2019-04-15 20:58

no, it doesnt. I've got a r5 2600 and my fps dont gets lower than 300.
2019-04-16 14:02
If got a R7 1700 @ 3.8 GHz, and this is the biggest shit .. my FPS also don't drop beyond 300 fps ... but if u compare it to a i7 8700K/9700K ... ryzen sucks ass :D
2019-04-16 18:29
nobody cares when you get over 300 fps. At that point it's just a number even if you had 240 hz monitor you wouldn't notice

why i3? get an i5-9400f, the only thing with this cpu is it doesn't have integrated GPU, but you're already buying a gpu so, all good. the i5 is cheaper than that i3 man
2019-04-16 03:24
I mean, doesn't matter if you dont have a 144hz monitor

Yea, you usually find it cheaper on other websites. But I usually buy my electronics from amazon because I can sent them back up to 2 years after I bought them. Recent example. Bought 16 gigs DDR3 1600mhz RAM when PUBG came out or a little later. I returned them when I got my new computer with 16 gigs DDR4 3200mhz. i.imgur.com/QWyqo22.png 2.9.2017 bought & sent back in dezember 2018. So over a year in use & I still could sent them back for the full price. Amazon Support is just way too good.

I actually was about to buy a GTX 1060 6gigs. But the online store where I bought my PC (I select the part & they build it for me), didnt have the 1060 anymore so I got a 2060 as an upgrade.
2019-04-16 16:38
for CS I would downgrade 1060 to 3gb and get an i5. You don't need a really OP graphics card like that
2019-04-16 16:46
Yeah but you usually dont just play CSGO.
2019-04-16 16:48
2019-04-16 16:54
yea I know but lets be honest, nobody only plays csgo.
2019-04-16 16:58
i play cs like 80% of the time and then fortnite and some older games on steam with my friends but i don't care for fps in those
2019-04-16 19:41
I play Fortnite sometimes and I have 1060 3gb and it works fine. 120 fps + on medium at 1920 is super playable especially if u have a 60hz monitor. I put Fortnite on medium cause I have gsync 144 hz and if u hae 60hz. ultra at 1920 should be fine
2019-04-16 21:00
ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/TjYxzY same price and better parts for CS in my opinion
2019-04-16 16:53
why z390
2019-04-16 19:43
cause ur old motherboard may have compatibilty issues with the 9th gen i5
2019-04-16 21:00
8GB is plenty. I wont feel anything upgrading to 16 GB
2019-04-16 16:59
I mean, it depends on what refresh rate your playing on and what fps you want. there are config setups to boost fps. So that shouldn't be an issue. apart from that, you should be able to run csgo really well,
2019-04-16 17:01
Overpriced GPU, get a GTX 1660. It's newer and performs better. 3-year-old gtx 1060 for that price is being retarded if you buy it. Change CPU and mobo to i5 9400f and z390 and GPU to a GTX 1660
2019-04-16 17:08
2019-04-16 17:14

It will do CS:GO fine but don't buy RAM and then buy new RAM in 3 months, that's silly. You could go for a 650W Gold power supply as well to stay safe
