Do you play Vertigo?
Spain Sneakers
And if u dont why not? I do and i enjoyed it much different pace to the game and fresh map with new ideas and strats. But i dont think enemy team knew what they were doing so we won pretty easily. Now, i want to see it in pro competitions, take cache and throw it out, For fuck sakes. I bet anything even FMPONE wants to see a new map. (and allow him to work on the rework in peace).

I'm playing Vertigo and i need to say that it is pretty playable map.
2019-04-17 14:44
+1. its very playable actually. People said it was complete garbage the day 1 Valve changed it. Wanted to try it out myself for more than 1 game, its playable, and its actually fun.. it's like a "mind games" map. Which makes it interesting. Not the same old layouts, and style of CS, with executes and shit which was getting boring.

This. It's not garbage, of course it can be fine-tuned but seriously a good chunk of the community call garbage 5 minutes in without even attempting to do anything.

Best change Valve did in the last 7 years.
2019-04-17 14:45
Well this was unexpected. I think Valve is doing good tho with the game. Game doesnt need huge mega patches that change everything, but slow and methodical ones (which Valve is rly good at), well thought, and not game-breaking ones. And they doing it well. I mean if u compare CS:GO to 5-6 years to now, its a complete different game already. And to me the game state is better than ever before. There is few things that need improvement, one of them is the MM system. If they can give us a nice new spicy MM service, which will appeal to the casuals, newfags, and competitive players. Then they gods. (and i think it should come, its one of the oldest ones left without updating it and reworking since the old CS).

i would like to play it but on faceit everyone bans it.
2019-04-17 14:50
Yes i know! Thats why i said take it out of there of the main map pool. And most people who whine and hate the map played 1 single fucking match just 1! cuz u can look at their profile.. its funny but oh well. It is what it is.

I still have no clue how to play the map so I don’t, gotta try it out soon I guess
2019-04-17 14:58
I think once it goes into the tier 1 events it will be played more. But if they never do the change then people wont ever want to learn it either. because we keep playing the same shit over and over again. Like i heard IEM Sydney will be played on Cache.. I dont even understand why still cache. But oh well.

tbh i didnt notice fps problems, and heard not that many either, kinda surprised even that it's pretty well optimized the map, considering everything. Gotta upgrade that potato PC. :D
2019-04-17 16:54
Yes cuz I hated cache and now that they have presented an alternative it's my obligation to play it.
2019-04-17 16:02
No. Before anyone tries to say "Oh but you haven't given it a chance, if you do you'll surely love the map". I actually have played 10 games on it just to get a feel so I don't have to deal with people saying that. It's not a competitive map. For starters it's way too small and allows for extremely fast rotates that don't work with the current set up of the game. If this were to be competitively viable at its size the bomb timer would have to go from 40 to probably 30 and the round timer would have to go from 1:55 to 1:30 or slightly lower. This would be a good fix, but it would also make the game no longer Counter Strike. The timers are a big part of what makes maps enjoyable in the first place. The numbers are set just so perfect for every map, minus vertigo, that there isn't too much time slowing the game down, but just enough to prevent boring waiting around. There's a reason Vertigo has been out of the map pool for over half a decade at this point. It's not a competitively viable map and Valve knows it. They had no other options though since they gutted cobble, removed cache (which is totally unnecessary IMHO), and had no other viable maps (maybe abbey, but that hasn't been played enough).
2019-04-17 16:03
There are literally a billion options in the workshop where people actually tried to create competitive 5on5 maps.
2019-04-17 16:55
Emphasis on "Tried" Valve is typically good about implementing good fan made maps and the mapcore competition is great.
2019-04-17 17:01
That is kinda the "idea" of the map as i see it. And i dont see it in a bad way as u say. It's just a different mentality of playing CS, once u enter vertigo (and nuke as well but nuke is already polished map). That the map is VERY small, yes. But is that rly a bad thing just because it? I dont think so. The idea of having so fast rotations, of having danger of being killed by ur back, cuz someone out-smarted u? I love that idea, of fast, intense plays. And i think this map is what it searches for. Trying to play mind-games with ur oponent, and fucking them up. Without the good old typical executes with 5 smokes, 4 mollys, 3 flashbangs, now we go in! 30s before end of round. I mean.. yeah this is CS and what makes CS be CS, but we see this so much, that its becoming stale. (cache's problem IMO, became a very VERY dull, and stale map). That maybe in pro lvl its a flop? We dont rly know.. only several tier 5 teams played at it, which cannot be used honestly as consideration. But I have a feeling it wont be a flop, and if its broken in some aspects, Valve will tweak it up. Overpass was a hot garbage map as well in 2015? or 14 dont remember, when it first entered the pool, now here we are. (I remember very few of it, but it was VERY hated the map, even more than vertigo i would say). Im a fan of nuke, so it also came in as a nice surprise when i saw vertigo. And that there is no other maps in the pool? there is. But people refuse to play them. But most of them are not even interesting to play.
2019-04-17 17:07
Nuke is different though. The outside area alone is it's own mind game and then you throw in the double layer sites, which yes are a small problem. But it's not good when someone can be standing in one position and fully flank you in a matter of seconds because the map is so small. The low tier teams are actually a good indication of how vertigo will be at the pro level. There isn't a massive drop in terms of strategies at lower tiers it's more just a skill level issue. Personally I enjoyed Overpass back then, and I don't remember seeing anywhere near as much backlash against it as Vertigo has received and for good reason. You say that it's bland seeing the same maps over again, but I beg to differ. Even now in 2019 people are finding new smokes, mollys, flashes, HE combos on the well known maps such as Overpass and also on the updates of Dust 2 and Inferno. These are just natural discoveries that aren't assisted by changes to the maps, rather just more play time on them.
2019-04-17 17:27
I've played twice, one win one lost. IMO the map right now is ct sided, there are just too many corners to check. It's a short map so TRs often are forced to have fast paced strategies or RUSHs.
2019-04-17 16:38
A site is okay. But B site terrorists can take over before a ct can even throw a molly on the B ramp. The map is terrible with timings. Very terrible. The balance isn’t there. I’m not here to say the map is bad. It just isn’t something that you want to see in competitive. There is not enough room to do strats or slow play. Also the sound is completely garbage on that map. You can’t tell where the sound is coming from because it always sounds like it’s behind you. Even if they are 1 floor under you.

I do play it once in a while, never really "hated" any map, sounds dumb to me how people would hate a map but not improve their skill. I do hate a map being overplayed cause it affects the queue times on other maps.
