FaZe Clan > Astr2l16s now ??

FaZe seems to be pretty legit right now, with rain performing an god level again and NiKo and GuardiaN being crisp. AdreN and olof doing a solid job too. Astralis on the other hand looking pretty shitty losing 2-16 against mibr. Did YNk finally do his job and made them the super team they are supposed to be?

i was actually referring olof at that sentence. because he is really bad for a long time now.
2019-04-18 16:47
Yes olof hasn't really played at the level he is supposed to and capable of since coming back to the starting lineup last year. But olof is the support player on T and B anchor on most of the maps on CT, so he doesn't really get many chances to get frags. Just another perspective to the argument.

olof is actually my fav player. the reason i started supporting faze (it was my second fav team before olof) and i would be really happy if he gets on his prime again, but due to real fact, statistics, many maps that i watched its just i cant see the any spark on his playing anymore. thats why i lost hope on him and think that he is the burden in faze now, not adren. but i also think adren and olof both not at the level of faze, they should remove both of them and get igl and get one good fragger/lurker/support.
2019-04-18 18:08
Sunny would be a good addition. And it's not just olof and Adren. Even Rain and GuardiaN haven't really been performing consistently. One match the team plays awesomely good and then in the next one they're abysmal. The whole team blows hot and cold. So instead of making drastic changes maybe getting a good IGL and some stability in the team might just do the trick.

i dreamed then dupreeh left Astralis for Faze last night lmao

HAHAHA I sometimes dream similar things and when I wake up I have to check if it's actually true because it seemed so real lmao

Actually not even a bait but a discussion, hence the question.
2019-04-18 15:16
if rain keeps this form its kinda hard to stop them from getting good placements, hes legit my fav player to watch. also if niko adren and guardian just start getting into god form aswell its not going to be possible to just beat them

Astralis losing was a fluke. They weren't even trying.

Calm down. We've seen a 2-day tournament with BO1 format and some online matches. The problem for FaZe isn't that they don't have individual skill. It's that they don't have tactics or a system to fall back on when they're not all hitting their shots.

even tho it was BO1 they bested both astralis and navi quiet heavily, then beated liquid in BO3 and the esl pro league isn't online... we still have to wait for sydney, if they would win it or at least get to grand final i think they can be better than astralis

When you have as much individual skill on a lineup as FaZe it's inevitable that they'll eventually have a patch of form where all of their players are hitting their shots and they just run over other teams. I don't think it's going to be sustainable though. At least not long enough for them to overtake Astralis as the #1 team. They're so far behind Astralis on points that even winning Sydney wouldn't be enough. I mean just look at how Rain played on Dust 2 against Liquid. He was essentially just playing solo and rushing them down like he was playing matchmaking. There was no teamplay involved, which means it's going to be very easy to counter once other teams start treating FaZe as a serious opponent again.

True.... but even when it was "the FaZe Era" at the end of 2017, i don't think it was caused by team play and it was enough for them to be n.1 for nearly a half year.....

Fans were desperate for FaZe to have an era in 2017 because they looked amazing at some of their earliest events, but it never really happened. They choked repeatedly in finals and didn't win anywhere near enough trophies to have an era. NiP, Fnatic, Luminosity/SK and Astralis are the only teams to have eras. Others may have won some big events and even reached #1 ranking for a while, but ultimately that doesn't count for much in the context of CS:GO history. At least if the team was an underdog, their success might be remembered (like Gambit) but most people will only remember 2017 FaZe as being underachievers.

+1 nicely put. A good IGL might just be the solution.

+1 Problem is, there is little to none avaliable rn, if they get a solid dedicated IGL i think they might be the best team in the world :D
2019-04-18 17:47
I was kinda hoping FaZe would pick up ChrisJ when he was benched earlier before being put back into the starting lineup by mouz. Just imagine the terror NiKo can cause if he is set free of his IGLing duties. And FaZe could also get Sunny if they want. Adds even more firepower to the team.

astralis was trying to win but we cant say astralis is done after them just losing on one day, give it time. if they perform like that the next blast pro, mby
2019-04-18 15:31
they just peaked at the same time in bo1 tournament...highly doubt that they will be able to keep this form more than another 1-2 tournaments(if they will be able to keep it at all)
2019-04-18 15:44
Hopefully they continue like this
2019-04-18 16:49
sydney will be hard for them imo. hope faze will win it, cuz I want the astralis - faze rivalry again ^^

no, they throwed so hard
2019-04-18 17:48
Nah Astralis are just on another level. FaZe do have better skilled individuals but CSGO is after all a team game and everybody knows how good a team Astralis is. It's a different thing to play a few BO1's and a BO3 final and finish with a tournament in 2 days. And a completely different thing to do it at big events which go on for several days. Your mental resilience also comes into play. And when you go to the big events or majors you just don't have to frag well but also out strat your opponents which I feel FaZe are not capable enough of doing at the moment. Maybe a good IGL might just be the solution.
2019-04-18 17:48
the problem with astralis is that they are so hard to counter because they have 500000 different tactics for every map, if they run out of new tactics it might become possible to beat them
