I saw a jazz band in a jazz club in NYC. The drummer was doing polyrythms between his two feet and his two hands at the same time
2019-04-18 22:11
Nice one, i'm kinda jealous now, i enjoyed a lot of great jazz in europe but of course nyc is a goal for me, send moneey pleaseee
2019-04-18 22:14
flights are so cheap now lmao
2019-04-18 22:17
well, at least 400$ from my place per flight. which means both flights together are a lot more than my monthly income and i still need to get a place to sleep.

All good man, I'm just teasing. Bowie would have been amazing to see live
2019-04-19 01:41
The problem is that he was stopping touring so early, like 2004?.
2019-04-19 01:43
2004 exactly. He got ill during his tour that year and that was the end of his touring. If he had not broken of that tour the scheduled appearance at Roskilde Festival would have been the third time I got to see him. I think the did do some appearances after 2004, but like concert tours or anything. May he rest in peace.
2019-04-19 02:59
Know someone who saw him in Norwegian wood when he got the lollipop in his eye. At that time I was not music interested (like every young kid), but some few years later I got really into The Beatles and Pink Floyd. Happy that I at least have been able to see both Ringo Starr and Roger Waters live. But sad that I never saw Bowie, RIP.
2019-04-19 03:29
Living in Copenhagen with some concerts taking place less than a mile from where I live has made it easier. I have seen Bowie twice, the one time was at the Roskilde Festival and there is a recording from that concert (be warned the sound quality is terrible): youtube.com/watch?v=1-BwT0tH9tI
2019-04-19 01:46
Hope you enjoyed that. I know that a lot of famous people have been in Roskilde Festival in the past years. We have something called Norwegian wood, but its small compared to Roskilde.
2019-04-19 02:02
Size isn't everything. I've never been to a music festival which was not great fun, there is also a festival here in Denmark that takes place in the woods. You should definitely consider going to Roskilde, it is not only Danes there always many coming from Sweden, Norway, Findland and Germany. Roskilde has been a pilgrimage for me. Not only the concerts, but like a week long garden party which everyone enjoys. Even the police is cool there: youtube.com/watch?v=oY8T9kQ5h50 But really in Copenhagen there is also a lot of open air concerts which are cheap or even free, like for example the amusement park in the city center host concerts each summer - a couple of the international artists on their list this summer is: Tom Jones Lauryn Hill Mø Tina Dickow It isn't like full stadium concerts, but the price is just the admission to the park so the prices are also far from the Stadium concert prices.
2019-04-19 02:16
Thanks, very grateful for the tips! Not been in Denmark in many years. Really have to come back again soon. Roskilde is definitely on my bucketlist

I think a lot of these replies are just bands you like that you saw live, there's a big difference between a good band and a good live band I've seen quite a few bands live but tbh a lot of them disappointed by pretty much just coming on stage, playing some songs, talk to the crowd a bit, play some more, and end Best live band I've seen is probably rammstein, only seen them twice both at Download but both were pretty epic, what more could you want other than a til lindermann beating and raping his keyboard player before turning to the crowd and spunking white foam all over everyone while the whole stage including band members and instruments are on fire Iron Maiden are pretty good too, last i saw them they got a Spitfire to do a fly over before performing aces high
2019-04-19 00:49
u are just backing up the very ppl u try to "correct" with ur spitfires making a good live MUSIC experience

no im talking about putting on a show, if you want to hear the music you can put on a cd or something

yeah why not just put on a live dvd for better view while we at it.

you are missing the point or just being argumentative
2019-04-19 01:19
i go to shitload of gigs and there is a big difference between good bands and good live bands. having spitfires flying over just is not the difference maker.

shiet tier musicians with shit tier songs would not get much better no matter how hard the singer would try to rape the guy behind keyboard, u know. would u call them good live band still?

yes
2019-04-19 01:43
I agree on your point - and it goes both ways. Those I listed have all been concerts which I really enjoyed and a few of those on my list are pretty boring when they aren't live. And I have also been to concerts, not listed, to which I had high expectations only to find they were a disappointing experience, there has even been a couple of times where one concert with a band was amazing and then one a few years later was a let down (sometimes demonstrating that not all bands know when to quit). If I had to pick just one it would have to be Bruce Springsteen. I have never been to a concert of his which wasn't amazing, he is so great that I even tried to get to see him in New York in 2017 even though it would have meant having to fly over. Only I did not manage to get a ticket :-(

Either Dance Gavin Dance or Daughters. Dance Gavin Dance is easily one of the most enjoyable live experience ever just a massive enrgy throughout the crowd and the band is spot on in terms of performance. Daughters was just more of a what the fuck did I experience type of thing but yet I haven't stopped talking about seeing them. Their lead singer is literally crazy. While their music is far from easily approachable and I'm not a fan of it all the inasnity of their live performance will always bring me back.
