Buying a new mouse. Advice needed
India ithehappy
(And finally on the third try I'm putting this in the right place LoL) Grip- Full fingertip grip (my palm never touches the mouse). This is important, as I've gathered fingertip grip is not really common. Budget- Up to 60-65 Euros (5000 INR) Preferred shape- Small, height should be really low, and smooth mouse skates are really important to me. Others- Would prefer a mouse with really good build quality. The more defined the the scroll when is, the better, I still use it to change weapon, LoL. I'll be using this mouse for 3 years. Now a bit of details- Currently using a Kone Pure Military, for nearly three years now (used a Avior 7000 before that). It's having double click issues, intermittent clicks etc., so gotta retire it. Love the shape, size, weight, almost everything really. Few weeks back bought a G403 after seeing Zy highly recommending it. But couldn't use it. Absolutely despised that hump, and also the large size was really uncomfortable. Couldn't fingertip it at all, my palm just touched that hump no matter how I tried to grip it. So returned it immediately. Now I've shortlisted these three mice- 1- Logitech G Pro Hero 16k (wired). Problem is with its price. It costs 58 Euros/ 4700 INR here. Though I like that its wired, its lightweight, and as its not battery operated it should also be balanced. The build quality also seems very good? Like 50M click durability and all that. Only problem is its price over here. Its much costlier than others. If that extra cost worth it though, I'm in. 2- Logitech G304. Everyone seems to be recommending it. As its wireless! Honestly I don't understand wireless. I mean playing CS from 2005, but never once had a problem with a mouse's wire, really! The G304 costs less here, only 35 Euros/ 2800 INR. But I'm highly concerned about its build quality. It looks like to me it's just a G102 but with a upgraded sensor and wireless tech. Am I right? People however say that it's a wireless version of wired G Pro (16k one), though I really doubt that. It's unbalanced weight also concerns me, due to the battery installed at the back. And I won't be getting any Lithium battery either, they cost a ton here. So if I get this I'll have to stick with stock alkaline ones. 3- Rival 110. I just chose this outta nowhere! Looked like a good VFM product. I could have increased my budget to a Rival 310, but that thing is like insanely long, 125 mm long! Jeez! Can never use it. Even this 110 one is actually rather long, 121 mm compared to 117 mm of G Pro or G304. Never used Steelseries products before though. Are they good, reliable company, build quality wise and all that? Any other mouse you all recommend based on my needs? Sensor wise I'm not that obsessed with the latest and greatest but as I'm upgrading anyway and it's 2019 I'd upgrade from a 3310 obviously. I don't really want to spend that much, if a low cost mouse works as good as a pricey unit, so basically if that Rival 110 is good enough, then I won't bother spending for the GPro and all those. Kindly advise.

The G pro wolud be the best for you in my opinion, one of my friends uses Zowie FK2 (the smallest) and he says its hella comfortable.
2019-04-19 09:16
G pro or fk2 indeed would do great with your grip.
2019-04-19 09:23
Thanks. Out of those I will definitely go with the G Pro, as its both cheaper here and Logitech gives 2-year warranty on their mice compared to 1-year from almost all other brands like Zowie. Also needless to mention that the FK2 still has the 3310 sensor.
2019-04-19 10:32
I have similar taste in mouses but i'm left handed. Only wireless i would go for is G Pro Wireless but it is fukin expensive. You can try Sensei 310, i'm using it for some time now and it is really good mouse, little bigger than mouses you have covered but excellent sensor, nice shape and crisp clicks, i didn't like cheaper Logitechs mouses because i'm resting my fingers at mouse1 and mouse2 buttons and it was actuating that way. Also scroll is nice, i'm using it for jumping in cs go. I also liked Abyssus, i had Abyssus 2014 and V2, hard to tell which was better, 2014 one had more classic Razer sensor with theirs singature smoothing but it played nicely, V2 has different sensor and altrough i was hitting my shots something felt off, but it was fun to use it until sides came off and i gave it back to shop. There is now Abyssus Essential which seems nice but still it isn't TOP TIER sensor like 3366 in rival 310 but it isn't bad either.
2019-04-19 09:22
For me the sensei was to big at the Palm. Would recommend it over the rival110 though. Abyssus has indeed a Nice shape, but i never played with it just held it in a store. So i don't know about the sensor.
2019-04-19 09:30
They aren't bad, they just have Razer feeling like theirs older mouses. Idk why Razer can't just put 3360 sensor in it, because this mouse was almost perfect to me. Altrough i would love if they did Abyssus with S3989 sensor which is like old 3310 razer version. I have never tried it but it could be nice with Razer feeling, which often is considered bad but i liked it.
2019-04-19 09:36
The Sensei 310 is 125.1 mm in length bruh, that's even lengthier than the G403 by 1 mm LoL. I can never use it. I have checked specs of top 20 mice from Zy's list, and only those three have length within 120 mm, that's why I shortlisted them. There were a few Zowies, but didn't add them as none of them have 3360 sensor. And I am not sticking with a 3310.

i've got the abyssus 2014 for 5 years now, i love its shape (much more comfortable than my g203) but i couldn't even flick on it at some point (hence why i bought the g203). now i'm looking for a similar mouse with a decent sensor

Logitech G304/305 would be good. If you remember the first Razor Krait (since you seem old) it's basically the same. It's small and really light. Seems good with your grip. I'm using G305 and never had a problem with it. Only changed the electric battery one time in a year. If you can find them in a store try them though, that's the best way to know
2019-04-19 09:40
Logitech g305 is great :)
2019-04-19 09:47
Yes I do remember the Krait but I have never used any Razer mice. My first proper gaming mouse was a Logitech G5 I think, then G9, G9X and I can't continue the list as I have forgotten it LoL. I am 31, so yes, old. :)

I had ec2-a, za12, razer deathadder, ss rival 110, ss sensei 310 and many many more. All of them was good but still with a fucking wire :)

faster response time on wired, something wireless will never have

Logitech wireless is the same as wired. If is not the same is so close that there is no difference.
2019-04-19 10:02
Its the same
2019-04-19 10:13
safety net, so people can't say "look, is 0.00000001% slower". I wouldn't trust on it on lan though, even though logitech claims that the signal can work on much worse conditions than the ones on lan environment.
2019-04-19 10:15
Man pro players play on lans with G pro wireless so...

logitech g304, one of my friends has it and in my opinion it's really good, I use a razer lancehead tournament edition, but my palm touches and there's not much fingertip grip
2019-04-19 09:54
the g102/203 is a cheaper version of the g pro 16k, wired. I wouldn't buy a g304 as the battery is not built in, so... I have a g403, played fingertip on my old mouse (too small) and changed to palm/claw on the g403, much more consistent now, and i love it (but i was fine on changing grips) and never had a problem playing fingertip on it though.
2019-04-19 10:05
I also play fingergrip and find zowie ec2-a perfect. Ive used deathadder and ss rival before and theyre both too big for me, ec2-a is perfect size as its rly small. Also please stop using the scroll wheel to change weapon.
2019-04-19 10:19
Rival 110 is decent, but click feeling is subpar imo. G Pro/G305 shape is a hit or miss. If you want something like your old mouse I recommend the Logitech G MX518, it seems similar to that shape and is my aim mouse right now. If you are bent on getting the G Pro/G305, I recommend the G Pro Wired, as you can just paracord it and it will save weight for the mouse. G305 is 90-95g I believe, while the G Pro is 83g. You can also paracord the g pro in the future if you want if wireless is important to you.
2019-04-19 10:23
Huh? The MX518? What are you saying? That mouse is for full palm grip. And I can't even use shapes like the MX518 for more than 10 mins bruh. I had a G400 or whatever couple of years ago, unpacked it, used it for two hours, put it on sale and never looked back to those shapes. Those shapes are like cancer to me. And nowhere near the shapes of the KPM or Avior or any other mice which are meant for fingertip grips. The shapes like of the MX518/G400/G402/G502 are the very exact ones which I am trying to totally avoid LoL.
2019-04-19 10:29
I personally fingertip it but if you don’t prefer the shape, thats fine. I’m not familiar to the KPM, so when I saw a picture of it, I thought the closest thing to it would be the new MX518. It seems like the best mouse for you judging on the statement above is the G pro. Good luck.

Its very uncommon to find a zowie less than 5k here so its out of the question. I can suggest the following 1)Rival 310 - my friend owns this and even though he has fairly small-medium sized hands it fits him perfectly. 2)G502 its on sale right now for 3.8k check it out. I wont recommend razer da elite or g403 since they are pretty big for your requirements. Also dont go for cheap wireless mouse (G304) they are crap and wire is not even an issue with a mouse bungee (or some jugaad xD) EDIT - if you want to save some cash you can even get the rival 110 its built like a tank I have it as my secondary mouse trust me it will last for years. I abuse the shit out of it still works like new.
2019-04-19 12:12
The g304 is not crap, its one of the best mice out there, only problem is its shape
2019-04-19 12:47
Wait are you the guy who plays Source on ILL every now and then? LoL. Anyway, thanks for your suggestion. Well you must have missed the part where I mentioned that I did purchase a G403 literally few days ago but couldn't use it at all, that hump killed it for me and it was also large. Now the RIval 310, that actually is even lengthier than the G403, so I am not sure how can I use that when I couldn't use the G403. G502- Nope. All those palm grip mice are exactly what give me hand-cancer. Thanks for your remark on the G304, LoL. I never once did like the mouse, except for its sensor, and yes wireless for me too, doesn't matter at all. That wire, never once gave me any problem. The build quality of the G304 seems pretty suspicious to me. So looks like the Rival 110 is a good VFM, thanks for your input on the same. What's your main mouse by the way? I could have easily gone for a Zowie anyway, cause the G Pro for which I was initially going for (still might) costs 4700, so I can increase that budget a bit more and get a Zowie, easy. But which Zowie is there for pure fingertip grip and doesn't come with a hump? Only FK series are meant for fingertip grip and those in India still haven't upgraded with a 3360 sensor. And I would not like to get the three year old FK models with 3310 sensor. I have looked at the EC2-B too, but that 40 mm height scares me. I am not sure how much for fingertipping that mouse is meant. You will notice all the mice I have listed on OP having a height of 38 mm max, both the Rival and G304. Now the G403 I used had a height of 43 mm, and so if the EC2-B has a height of 40 mm then I am not sure where it falls and whether I will be able to comfortably fingertip it or not. But if that 40 mm height touches my palm even the slightest bit, I am done. Can't take that chance with a 5-6k mouse. Its either the G Pro or the Rival 110 it seems.

Well first of all, no I dont play source i think you mistake me for someone else xD although I do play 1.6 regularly. And Im currently using a g403 and since Im a palm user with fairly large hands it fits me well. I also have a razer da elite (I have this fetish of collecting gaming mice xD) I think given your gripping style and other things you mentioned you dont really have a lot of choices specially in India. Even if you extend your budget and get a zowie ecb the hump will still be a problem. Sadly, the fks are also not updated as you said :/ I would say get the rival 110 its the best bang for buck as for now. I have been using it for past 2 years now just changed the skates and they work like new. DONT get the gpro man its overpriced af here like seriously almost double the actual price. The sad part here is we cant even try and feel the mouse before purchasing it, its almost like a hit or miss situation :( Also I think you already know this but if not, then do check rocketjumpninja's channel on YT.
2019-04-19 17:17
Oh OK bruh, sorry for confusing with someone else LoL. I don't want to get the G Pro myself dude, I mean ffs, 4700 is the price here! And that too is only available at one place, Deltapage or some such place. I really liked Logitech's spring method for button tensioning system though, that bit was really good on the G403, every click felt fresh or something. It also comes with the Hero 16k sensor, which they claim is the best they have made. Not sure how much difference I can notice from something like the Rival 110's, which I noticed is close to a 3330. And don't tell me about the Indian tech related problems bruh. At least Amazon was kind enough to allow me to return the G403 and refunded me. Going to stores and checking the mice, well LoL, that is like impossible here like you already said. You have to get something right on the first go in this place or you are done, simple. Lottery like shite basically! I have checked all of the Zy's reviews man, ALL OF THEM. I am on their DIscord channel even. But the part confuses me where he keeps saying that the hump on the G403 doesn't bother him, yet he says that he's a fingertip grip (with identical hand size to mine) and on the Rival 110 review he mentions the mouse was a bit too big for him! That part I don't get! The G403 is bigger than Rival 110, at any point! Yet he found the G403 great and no hump problem but the Rival 110 is a bit too big for him! WTF! I am fixed on the Rival 110, I am just a little scared whether I will find it a little large too or not, to comfortably fingertip. The height is absolutely fine, that checks, so is the weight. But that 120.6 mm length, compared to the 115 mm of my Roccat KPM, not sure. Even though the Avior 7000 I used before the KPM was 125 mm in length and I don't remember having any problem with that, as far as I can remember.

Yeah I checked both his reviews and that really created a confusion for me too. The hump on the g403 is pretty big actually and Zy contradicts his own statement. The steelseries website says the form factor is small and even looking at the dimensions I dont think you will have any problems with the fingertip grip. Just make sure that if you are okay with its ambidextrous design.
2019-04-19 19:00
Ha ha yeah. No problem with ambi design, used the Avior 7000 before and it was just fine for me. I mean it was nowhere near as comfortable as my KPM but it was fine enough. Even the G304, G Pro all those are ambi anyway. Thanks for your inputs dude, appreciate it.

g203/102 maybe? it's pretty much a g pro with a worse laser but there's pretty much no difference in real world applications, at least that's what RocketJumpNinja concluded on it.

If you love the kone pure just get the newer version the kone pure owl eye. Instead of g pro hero wired you should get the g102/203 because it is basically the same at nearly half the price Other great options are tt esports ventus r, zowie s1/s2 (even if I dislike zowie), dream machines dm1 fps, cougar minis x5 and the sense 310

Jeez! Roccat I thought were out of business. In any case, they don't sell officially in India any more, so Roccat is out of the question. I'v got the Logitech Pro wired. Mouseskates went to complete shit after a year of use, fitted it with hyperglides, and it is better with those. I have average hands and use fingertip/clawgrip but I find it a little bit small. Would recommend but i'd much rather have the Zowie S2 with hindsight.
