i enjoy doing the things i do because i like doing them. Sure it may seem a bit weird but i dont really mind what other people think about it. The author made some nice tracks that fit a genre that i like because they were pretty common in video games i used to play as a kid and i initially thought he was asking for other memorable tracks in the genre. If that fits your view of an autistic kid with no friends then thats fine by me. In the end we're all here on hltv on a saturday night so you could say that we both share the same personal traits and interests to some extent.

classic osts are not synthwave. they are just synth. or rather just game music.

you're right, thanks for pointing that out. I just like the sounds for some reason, maybe nostalgic or whatever but it doesn't really matter. I wish you a fine weekend.

what are you using to listen to your music? In the first one there is like no top end at all and way too much bass around 100 hz. Also your drums are super quiet in both, can barely hear them at all. Like the general idea though, 5/10.
2019-04-20 22:35
mixed the music with 10 dollar headphones men((( drums are kinda loud for me, ty for rating and feedback

for really easy improvements i would suggest to sidechain most of the synths and the bass to the kick and the snare, that way they cut through the entire mix. Also just boost your top end at least 2 db and take a dip around 150 hz
2019-04-20 22:40
Thanks for the tips, i tried sidechain but i didn't like the results too much, well i'll try again i guess maybe with a little bit more effort it can be better. My headphones aren't really good so i can't hear the difference between certain frequencies, or can't hear some of them at all (like really deep sub bass etc.) currently saving up money for some studio headphones. Listened this track on 3 different sound systems and when i mix it for one system to sound good it sounds bad on the other two :(

You can get some really good results out of even 50$ headphones, but yeah if yours can't produce the sub frequencies between 30-60hz there's really little chance you're gonna get a good mix. The thing that takes the longest in learning how to make music is developing your ears, so that you know what frequencies you want and which you don't want. Best of luck man!

Thanks a lot, 50 dollars is a big amount in my country, thanks to shitty economy 80 dollar headphones cost half of the minimum wage here... Thanks for the tips again!

i kinda like the general vibe of your tracks but i think they need a bit more variation
2019-04-20 22:37
thanks, when i try to add some variety it ends up with too much layers/instruments and it sounds too noisy or muddy, i tried to keep it simple since it's kinda like synthwave but i'll try to add more memorable parts, thanks for the feedback again!

yeah no problem, thats the thing it sounds like real ez music but when you try to reproduce something that actually sounds good it becomes a big mess real fast. i must say, i played the first one a couple of times now and i think that it matches the style real good.
2019-04-20 22:46
Thanks dude! Glad you liked it

keep up the good work!

Made a new one, a little bit faster this time and it's not complex. I used a similar arpeggio from one of the other songs (kinda like leitmotif) so some bits may sound similar but that's intentional. It would be great to hear some feedback from you! youtube.com/watch?v=R9Fr7VKTX-Y

The first song's melody could have been used to make trap song. It sounds kinda dark and with proper lo-fi effect, it would sound dope. Still decent

Thanks mate
