how to reduce heat?
 |
North America officalFanboy
It's getting hot now, and my parents don't want me to turn on the A/C because they think it's too cold. What do I do with my PC running it increases even more heat, I have a fan on me but only helps a little, at night I sweat for hours upon hours.

perfect temperature wtf? I'm used to sleeping in 40-50 fahrenheit
2019-04-22 04:12
Ok, but that's defninitely not normal. 20-22°C is the consensus of comfortable temperature
2019-04-22 04:15
as an Australian i am disgusted that you think 20 Degrees Celsius is hot
2019-04-23 06:38
Hot =/= comfortable lol And that is what I googled. I honestly feel a bit too cold in those degrees

what are you a fucking eskimo ? Who the fuck keeps their house at 40F thats like sleeping in a cardbox on the street in the middle of winter
2019-04-25 06:35
Not winter. Hes using an AC to cool down his house to 10C in Summer time :D On a hot day condensation will build up on wrong side of insulation and the house will start to rot away.
2019-04-25 20:31
how is 70 Fahrenheit even warm

is it really 70 in your room? my room can get to 85-90 degrees from the heat generated from my pc and other circumstances even though its 80 in my living room and 70 outside. if its too hot when you are sleeping, i would turn off the pc an hour or so before you go to sleep so that the temps can normalize over time. definitely turn on your fan and open the windows as well if you havent done that already

well I usually only have time to game at night, but my pc keeps decently cold 3 fan gpu and extra cpu fan, and usb fans. outside at least yesterday was 70 all night until like 4am when I'll be asleep, I'm looking for like a machine that will produce cold air not like 400$ though

Connect the cold water pipes through ur room and then turn on the cold water in the bath, the pipes will be cold and therefor cool ur walls = room is colder.

well, that's where the practicality of the idea fails :D
2019-04-24 00:39
even if they did how tf would they cool the room? the only possible way is if the wall was a complete pipe basically insulated by water even the outside walls

well, in #8 he said 'pipes,' not 'pipe' it would be pretty hard with one pipe

Walk around naked to protest your parents until they turn on the AC. This has always annoyed me “It’s too cold already.” Bitch put on some clothes I can’t sit but ass naked everywhere I go. If you’re cold you can always put on cloths, if you’re hot you CAN’T always take off clothes.

Open the windows
2019-04-24 01:17
- Drink water - Make a towel slightly wet and lay it over your shoulder, as it dries it will be cool and help you cool down. - Also you can pour water into a bowl and stick your feet in it, but be careful not to splash water on your PC or electric wires. - Make your PC use less power so it generates less heat. Or maybe have two PC's, a monster one for gaming and a frugal one for watching streams and what not.

keep your curtains or blind closed. avoid opening your windows assuming that outside is hotter than in. use a fan, keep the fan on rotating mode so it circulates the air.

Lose some weight? Your room is barely above room temperature and you are crying? Only fat people do this so I would say take my advice and lose some weight.
2019-04-25 06:18
depends on blood circulation, metabolism and such things. doesnt matter if skinny or fat. in winter i got my room temperature at 16 degrees and sit at home in tshirts, because everything else is too hot.

Put Sensu next to your PC
2019-04-26 15:11
1) Bring an ice pack to put to your head/chest with a small hand towel to protect your hand. 2) periodically open door/close it to use the door as a “fan” to fan out all of the hot air. 3) Also leave door wide open when you leave to grab food/drink/ use bathroom to let hot air out while you are away.
