Country tier list
autimatic |
United States OJSimpson_
This is my country tier list. These are the parameters I used to make this list -GDP -quality of life -global presence -citizens -government -infrastructure Things I didn’t use in my list -climate -race -religion -politics -other subjective things like food, beauty, and social issues If I didn’t list your country I most likely didn’t list it since it might be small, I forgot, or I don’t have enough knowledge of it to accurately place it. If so either comment it or use the countries neighbors as a base for what it probably is. Also the countries aren’t listed in a specific order in each tier, usually it is listed from left to right on the map Tier 1: USA, Canada, Norway, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, China, South Korea, Japan, Australia, And New Zealand Tier 1.5: Sweden, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Austria, Italy, Iceland, and Israel Tier 2: Poland, Russia, Ukraine, UAB, Saudi Arabia, India, and Thailand Tier 2.5: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Caribbean islands (Puerto rico, Bahamas, Jamaica, etc.)Turkey, South Africa, Philippines, and Indonesia Tier 3: Haiti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Vietnam Tier 3.5: Venezuela, Iran, and the rest of Africa basically Tier 4: Iraq and Afghanistan Tier 4.5: South Sudan and Syria Tier 5: North Korea This list is not meant to offend anyone but is meant to spark discussion and get different viewpoints to perfect my list. Also admins please do not delete just because I called your country shit

Why is Iceland tier 1.5?
2019-04-22 19:40
I’m guessing you think it should be tier one. This was one of them I was thinking about a lot for some. I mainly listed it as tier 1.5 because of its lack of a diverse economy and isolation from other countries. Also it’s infrastructure isn’t that good with a lack of roads
2019-04-22 19:42
With a population of 300000 and 1 big city you don't need many roads but I guess you are right with the isolation. And what do you mean by lack of diverse economy?
2019-04-22 19:44
Well most of the tier one countries I listed have many things they use to build an economy. 2 good examples of them in tier 1 are France and the USA. 75% of Iceland’s economy is based off fishing and aluminum. If one or both of those run or go low they are basically screwed.
2019-04-22 19:47
Ohh this is what you meant. I guess you are right, you don't have many opportunities but still has higher salary avg. than USA
2019-04-22 19:51
Also cost a lot more to live there
2019-04-22 20:35
Compared to what? In USA there are places where it's way more expensive to live and places where not
2019-04-22 20:39
The cost of is living is higher in Iceland stuff like coffee and fuel are more expensive but it's to be expected on a island with a small population. I don't really check the housing market in Iceland but I assume it's probably more expensive for a house there then in the majority of the USA

5 bedroom house in texas = $250k (what my parents paid in 2016) 2 bedroom house in california = $1mil+ (what a friend at school who just moved to texas from california told me)
2019-04-22 23:03
maybe if you live as close to los angeles as possible my father was able to get a 4 bedroom house with a giant yard for 550k in san diego
2019-04-23 03:26
Well norway isnt much dif then :D entire country is run by oil and gas... remove those 2 and its gonna look pretty bad.
2019-04-22 21:30
Norway’s gdp is many times larger, but it still could go bad. Thanks for this new info

It cant because it is physically impossible for us to stop using oil and gas in less than 50 years. Too add on they invest their national savings into companies and loan to other countries, that is why they can pay their peoples 8k a month.
2019-04-24 01:29
the remaining 25% is tourism

Reykjavik (capital of Iceland) is super modern and has one of the best infrastructures in the world. Im sure you dont know what you're talking about
2019-04-22 21:04
Well the capital isn’t the whole country. Most of it is just fields and dirt paths

More than a third of the population lives there. So of course most of the remaining land is untouched (and beatiful, at that). Some of the countries listed in tier1 and also Sweden and Finland have a huge amount of untouched land with bad roads. It doesnt mean the country is of lower tier since most people live in the big towns anyway.

That is wrong, most of southern Sweden and Finland is modernized, just the north is not, but that is due to permafrost and sub zero temps. Als you can't say iceland is same (if ur retarded) since their whole climate is super temperate year round.

you have a higher peak of education with harward and such but everyine who goes at univeristies in your country will go in debt for nearly their whole life. ur delusional who thinks its a better system and better education in general. Finland has the best education in the world period if you think otherwise please go buy a fucking rope u degenerate

damn, ur so harsh, telling people to kill themselves over the internet- nordic darkness makes sense. To add on, no debt is necessary as state school is free and IV leagues like Harvard give full scholarships to smart students. Though I do agree there is a debt problem. But, education is better in Korea and Japan than every place in Europe and the USA. Finland vs the USA depends, and I do have some biased. But we are talking about the best education (teaching wise) not the economics of education. So your whole argument is invalid.
2019-05-08 02:05
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_.. only norway is higher. he put usa and china on because of pure overall economic influence, not just per capita gdp. living in scandinavian countries can be better average quality of life in some ways yes but they also don't do much globally, so it's hard to say they're a higher tier than dominant countries like usa and china. honestly scandinavians are more elitist about their country than any other people i've ever met, even americans.
2019-04-24 01:39
Did you use gdp, or gdp per capita?
2019-04-22 21:42
Both, but some I used as more of a factor because of the population of some countries
2019-04-22 21:43
Yeah, I mean it isn't really fair comparing a country like Iceland to the us in terms of gdp. So gdp per capita should be more important.
2019-04-22 21:43
Shouldn't the countries like UAE and Qatar be higher? Is it because of the poor respect of human rights and tier 1 standards (mostly due to being overly religious) or is it something else?
2019-04-23 11:41
Yes also because most of there country is just a desert with low infrastructure and there whole economy is all oil based products so if they run out their money will too
2019-04-23 12:54
Actually no if I remember my highschool geography class correctly that's why Abu Dhabi and Dubai are such crazy cities, they pulled in a lot of investors and a lot of very high end tourism (first self proclaimed six star hotel in the world, tallest building in the world etc...) which pretty much guarantees them endless resources as long as people don't get tired of it or it gets swallowed by the desert.
2019-04-23 12:59
Only tell me why Czech republic and Singapore are not T1 but China (shithole in literally every single aspect) is?
2019-04-22 22:01
Why the fuck czech would be in tier 1 list
2019-04-23 10:50
If china gets t1 syria should get t1
2019-04-23 11:23
It's part of my job to rate countries - Czech republic is one of most stable places in Europe, it have even higher stability rate than Germany or France. If not tier 1 it should be at least t1.5

so basically ur saying India is great if you have money. dude even Brazil has a amazing quality of life if you have money.
2019-04-24 07:23
Yeah I agree with you. But it's irrelevant to what I'm trying to convey. Read #452 below. I'm stressing about food and cost of living, regarding which India is better, if not the best.
2019-04-24 09:53
To be specific, eating healthy food is expensive in USA while uk has higher tax percentage and higher cost of living.

Ok, good sides.-(not in parameter) --> I agree with climate, it's really nice (maybe the best in europe). Mixed race, religions everywhere which is also nice. Quality of life is medium i would say, below netherlands or germany (i think it really depends on cities in france). Bad sides. Racism like wow. Also want to point out the smell especially in paris some places are pissholes. France's footpath, so dirty like try to go to netherlands or japan and see the difference. Army, absolutly shit. They can't even afford their own country made weapons (talking about the HK 416 F), like did you see their light vehicles? Police quality of life is also shit. Edit: the things that are pulling down france from tier 1 to tier 2, is just, it's dirty. Edit 2: racism was severe before, but it's recovering which is also nice but still. Edit 3: about the HK talk: famas -> HK Edit 4: (sidenotes) if france was tier 1, why gilets jaunes and notre-dame things happens. it is above the average but not tier 1.
2019-04-22 20:10
Xd your argument are so bad. So you judge a country by the smell of Paris ? Army sh*t ? Yeah just in the top 5 of the best army in the world but you know better. + why dont mention the health care ? educational system ? You only talk about Paris but Paris is not France, go visit the village, the east, the west, the south etc Quality of life is pretty good. But i guess you know better Mr pingu

Japanese talking about racism OMEGALUL. Oh god army can't buy HK. Do you want to talk about japan army ? What the fuck do you mean about Notre Dame ? If you take a fire into account I can talk about Tsunamis and Fukushima and put your country in tier 3.5. Your arguments are shit and if France isn't in tier 1 there isn't more than 2 countries in tier 1.
2019-04-23 13:35
More than 2 common dude, but i agree with your message. People ranking France based on Paris....and after that claiming they live in France, suuuuure. Quel con quand même, bravo pour la patience ^^.

well after multiple reflection, and seeing which countries OP posted for tier 1.5 I have to admit french is well above greece or spain or italy or portugal. By looking at tier 1.5 list, france is in the correct tier. my bad.

What's wrong with japanese talking about racism? In japan, we don't have an army did you know? Ok fair enough although the cause of fire is not clear BUT how do you compare with natural disaster OMEGALUL. And the speed which they recover from that event is tier 1. After reflection maybe tier 2 was a bit too much, but it is clearly not tier 1, tier 1.5 for me.

Tell me one country that isn't racist. And I swear there are more than one country in op list tier 1 that is more racist than France and Japan is one of them. I know japan don't have an army and that's my point. You are saying we don't have the money to buy HK but it's easy to say something like that when you don't have any budget in these kind of costs. BTW the budget of military expenses is more than 32 billions. So I really don't get the point of talking about the army. I mean you put France in tier 2 cause it's dirty. So if that's one point to put them on tier 2 (even tier 1.5) the earthquakes and tsunamis should put you in tier 2-2.5.

Yea maybe Japanese are more racist than France, but Japanese racism is more like a "hidden racism" compared to France which I feel like it is more "open racism", but whatever you are right there are no coutnries which arent racist. My point for the army is that your generals(?) make shit decisions. Buy obsolete, shit missile laucher from the US or trying to replace the Famas for the HK. How can you compared between cleanness which is a human cause and natural disaster, it's not our fault if japan is above 4 tectonic plates. (read above: now don't get me wrong, france is well above greece or portugal but if france is tier 1, sweden should also be tier 1)

Yeah. Our country has a lot of problems that simply don't make it worth being called t2 People from villages still defecate in the open due to some religious beliefs. Women are very unsafe here for the number of crimes against women is on the rise every year Most of the places are highly polluted. Illiteracy, poverty politics etc etc there are many issues here that are really getting worse each day

Poland (higher), India (tier 2.5)
2019-04-22 20:26
Tier 2: Poland, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Uruguay Tier 2,5: Brazil, China, Russia, Argentina, Mexico Tier 3: South Africa, Ukraine, Caribbean islands (Puerto rico, Bahamas, Jamaica, etc.)Philippines,Indonesia, India and Thailand
2019-04-22 20:29
Do u know anything about Uruguay, don’t know that much about jt
2019-04-22 20:29
But what about the other countries? Cuz in my opinion Russia, Thailand, Ukraine and India definitely don't deserve to be in the same tier of Chile and Poland...
2019-04-22 20:33
Well there were many factors that went into the list. Just being good in one doesn’t make you tier one and being bad in one doesn’t make you tier 4. I took how extreme all of them were and averaged them out and got a number I was satisfied with
2019-04-22 20:33
What factors did u use to put Ukraine and India in the tier 2? I'm curious..
2019-04-22 20:38
didnt really know that much about those ones so I just went with what my gut said. Looking at other users I would probably put both of them in 2.5 now
2019-04-22 20:40
Ok, if u wanna put India a country with life expectancy of 68,56yo in the same tier of a country with life expectancy of 76 (Brazil). And Brazil has 80% of their GDP with only 15%of their population I don't even need to say that HDI of índia = 0.64, while Brazil= 0.76
2019-04-22 20:57
China, Russia tier 2.5? I'm sure about they're above some Latam shits
2019-04-22 20:47
If u are talking about fire power no doubts that they are above all countries of latim América m. But if u are talking about quality of life, GDP per capita they arent so different from Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. Let's compare this anyway: LIFE EXPECTANCY: Brazil: 76 China: 76,25 Argentina: 76,58 Russia: 71,59 HDI: Brazil: 0.759 Argentina: 0.825 Rússia: 0.816 China: 0.752 GDP PER CAPITA: Brazil: 10889USD Argentina:10398USD China: 7329USD Rússia: 11441USD As u can see their stats aren't so different... Chile and Uruguay are even better than Argentina and brazil...
2019-04-22 21:11
PPP is a much better way of comparing countries tho
2019-04-22 21:21
+1
2019-04-22 21:42
Brazil PPP= 14103 China PPP= 15308 Still not very far away from China, considering that we work less hours than them and this decade is considered lost for us due to the second biggest economic crisis that we ever had, since Brazil is with the same GDP of 10 years ago...

This is my country tier list. These are the parameters I used to make this list -GDP -quality of life -global presence -citizens -government -infrastructure And i dont see anything bad in the first PICTURE, if europeanslive in that style it doesnt mean other people should follow the same thing. everyone have their own culture, religion, langauge, etc. so everyone like to live as they want. And we(maybe some wont agree) like to live in our own way, and if someone isnt living as you want them to live, it wont make them BAD. and ASTRALIS vs FEMALE****** cs And i never said we are good, even i said we tier 100, but you crying man, PEACE

Wouldn't say USA is tier1 tbh, shitty healthcare + 35+% of the adults are overweight , over expensive degrees (most people have big debts from studying for 3 quarters of their lives), their global presences is almost always something with war (so basicly negative presence) in the east or because of some stupid shit Trump said. If you put together the facts of shitty healthcare, over expensive degrees and big debts i wouldn't say USA is tier 1. (But if you consider the things you didn't consider at first, then maybe tier 1)

USA and Canada are top 2 imo, if they aren’t in your top 5 at least you’re probably trolling or being a child
2019-04-22 21:19
Canada is high up not USA you can look at basicly any ranking like #115
2019-04-22 21:20
Maybe for 1 or two things but overall it’s top 5
2019-04-22 21:21
If you compare every country in t1 and t1.5 most of t1.5 are better than china, france and nz. With icaland and finland being better than many others from t1. i would say overall best countries to live in top 3 are denmark, canada and norway/switzerland. Also Ukraine should be t2.5 if not 3. I don't know when you started making this but Ukraine is very corrupted and now have a comic as their president. Also their relations with Russia don't help
2019-04-22 21:47
Criminality rating. Is not subjective. Look into global piece index, USA is under brazil. Countries like New Zeland Portugal and Denmark make top 3

I’ve seen a lot of people saying poland should be higher and I don’t know that much about daily polish life, got any info on that
2019-04-22 21:33
I live in normal polish city. People are really good here (What i mean is that there's litteraly no murders or robberies) Infrastructure: There's a part of the city with some of older buildings and places you really want to see are (If you want to see it just copy and paste this: ulica Żeromskiego Radom) And there's the new part where all the newest buildings are standing or they're getting constructed. And the last part is the place where all of the soviet blocks are... You really don't want to see this part of the city. If i'm supposed to rate the quality of life i would give it 7/10. I'm not really sure about quality of life in cities like Warsaw or Cracow so you can't base the rating on my opinion. I obviously skipped the roads that surround the city mostly because there are mostly some supermarkets there.
2019-04-22 21:46
Thanks for info man, will be helpful
2019-04-22 21:47
np
2019-04-22 21:47
Oh, and forgot to mention that there's both an military and passenger aiport and there's a train station next to a yard for freight trains. There's obviously a good ammount of churches (I think there's like 6 or 7 churches) There are obviously places like parks, cinemas or just other atractions. Overall there are playgrounds or other places for kids litteraly everywhere. And the other surrounding cities are very calm and nice places to visit.
2019-04-22 21:56
Sounds peaceful and nice, poland will be higher in my next list for sure!
2019-04-22 21:56
I don't think it should be higher. That's just one area. I visited cities like Warsaw, Cracow or Gdańsk but only for few days so i'm not really sure about quality of life there, but i can say that there are some really good places in those cities. I can also recommend cities like Zakopane for vacations in mountains or Sarbinowo (It's a pretty small town, but only reason why i go there is because in every other city next to the sea like Gdańsk, Kołobrzeg or Gdynia there's litteraly no peaceful place. People are EVERYWHERE, but in Sarbinowo you can always find a place on the beach and in the evening just relax. So i can recommend it for vacations near the sea) To be honest you need to find information about the life quality in bigger cities yourself because tho i live in 14th biggest city in Poland it's actually pretty calm there. I'm not saying that life in Poland is perfect. Oh no, it's far away from perfect, but if you want i can give you names of some places worthy a visit.
2019-04-22 22:06
I don’t think I’ll be there anytime soon but what would you recommend if I did
2019-04-22 22:06
Some places i can recommend are (Sorry for the polish names, i don't think you will find them with translations): Szlak Orlich Gniazd (A lot of castle ruins are there), Kraina Tysiąca Jezior (Some of the biggest lakes in Poland are there), Słowiński Park Narodowy (There's actually a desert here), Zamek krzyżacki w Malborku (The biggest castle in Poland), Stare Miasto w Warszawie (Oldest part of Warsaw), Tatry (Biggest mountains in Poland), and all the places near the sea.
2019-04-22 22:13
Castles are always fun, hopefully they will still be there whenever I can visit
2019-04-22 22:14
I can't really say much about them because the last time i was in one was when i was only 4...

List seems to be fairly accurate based on your criteria. China seems to only be tier 1 due to GDP but that's fine. Sweden seems fine in tier 1.5 (based on your selected criteria) even though HLTV seems to think it's literally heaven lmao
2019-04-22 21:34

This is my country tier list. These are the parameters I used to make this list - arbitrary choices - like I literally didn't even consider any of the facts I allegedly considered! - Like really, you want proof? I put the U.S., and the U.K. over Sweden, Finland, Iceland, and Austria, AND I put them in the same tier as Portugal, Spain, and Greece! Haha! Sweden's social care alone warrants it being in tier 1.

There are very few countries that are better than Sweden. imo only norway, switzerland and denmark. If i had to make a tier 1 list, it would include those 4 countries. Tier 2 would be France, belgium. germany, USA, Canada (maybe some other aswell)

Idk how you can put China in tier 1. Seems like an awfully depressing country to live in. Total police state. Also, There are so many 1. million cities in China that no one knows about. They are all grey and filled with toxic smoke everywhere. Never would I live there. Austria, Sweden, Finland and Iceland are preferable in literally every way.
2019-04-23 12:36
China is a shithole. People work like slaves 12-14 hours a day, 6 days a week. Many live in fucking cages because there is no room in the big cities. Internet in censored and this social score system is fucked up. China is a shithole for the average person.
2019-04-23 12:50
yeah, people live like dogs there. one other problem is that there are way too many men compared to women, so a lot of guys live their entire lives in loneliness. That's one of many factors why so many commit suicide. Numbers are probably a lot higher than what the state reports. Btw, how is it to live in Mexico these days? A lot of crime, or?

If you don't put all of the nordic countries in tier 1, then the list is completly pointless. ALL nordic countries are in the top of every single 'good' statistics that exist. - The least corrupt countries in the world. - Enjoy the highest quality of life. - The happiest countries in the world. - The lowest crimerates in the world. All nordic countries should probably have their own category(tier 0) It might sound pretty arrogant, but if you did some quick research, you would find out, that it's true.

You have Blasphemy and Hate Speech laws in Finland. So by definition, you do not have freedom of speech. It is sad how I know more about you're trash country than you do. The statistics about guns do speak for themselves, Guns save about 500,000 - 3,000,000 lives per year and gun homicides make up around 11,000. So I'd say the stats speak for themselves. How do you live in Finland and not even know you don't have freedom of speech?

yeah because obviously in your mind people should be allowed to request crimes and such on the internet, and actually hate speech laws in finland only work in cases where a certain crime is committed like Volksverhetzung for example and some more, everyone agrees that these examples should be punished and why shouldnt they. If you think that crimes like that should be allowed you are a fucking retarded 1iq moron and why do you have so many gun incidents in the first place in the usa, retarded laws started it and you would not have the problem in the first place. dont come and tell me that 12people per 100.000 die to guns is a good number, since its pretty fucking garbage and last in line of first world countries
2019-04-23 22:02
Ahhh so at least you admit that you don't have freedom of speech. That alone makes the USA better than Finland. If your government censors what you can and cannot say then you have a fascist government. I looked up Volksverhetzung and I dont speak Finnish so I'm using google translate, but from what I can tell it says. Inciting hate or calls to violence, or verbally abusing a group or a person for being part of a group. (Correct me if this is wrong) The only thing I agree with there is that calls to violence should be illegal, as it is in the USA. If that is the case then I can tell you why that is a terrible law. Because once you give the government the power to decide what you can and cannot say it becomes a slippery slope. Now we're seeing places wanting to make it illegal to "misgender" a transgender person. What if tomorrow your government decided that all the things you believe in should be banned because they can be offensive to someone? You do not give the government that much power. That leads me to the USA's 2nd amendment. We have the right to bear arms because if our government ever tried to do anything as yours did then we have the right to rebel against them with our firearms. There is a reason that every single tyrannical government in history has disarmed the citizens. Guns save far more lives than they take, and as for our homicide rate, freedom is not free. People can use their freedom to do terrible things, that does not mean that no one should have freedom.

1. Volksverhetzung, in English "incitement of the masses", "instigation of the people" 2. its actually not terrible, everyone can read the law and see for themselves what is forbidden and what is not. There is 200people in the Parliament in finland that decide the laws, if we say that they want to change a law, its a pretty long process that requires multiple steps and hearing of experts etc and the law may flop on so many steps and nothing can happen overnight when things actually come to vote there is 200 people come from 8 different parties that decide (voted to be there ofc), which have big difference between their ideas so nothing is certain to happen, and even if say there would be something outrageous the people would strike, and even if this wouldnt work the president can crash the law. So many steps that can crash the entire parliament. But this has never really happen since the finnish system is well trusted in finland and has been built for a long and proved to be working (thx to least corruption the world and other factors) and the people have the right to suggest law changes to the parliament (a certain number of people required and it has to be processed by the parliament) so you are in my eyes very free to do stuff as long as its not criminal, if you think that criminal actions like the 1. should be legal then I dont know what you are smoking 3.But ever tought that if you would have never have taken the free gun law into use and would be like the rest of the first world countries that number of 12people per 100.000 deaths would not be that high, ofc its hard now to change it but its a retarded law from the beginning 4. Ofc Finland is very different from usa but think it this way, the national finnish tv station that is under direct control of the parliament, has several times come out with scandals of things that happen with the parliament or something and host several panels where they discuss things that are important. See when the governments own fucking tv station come out with outrageous scandals about someone high up in the parliament for example. I think you should see the point of how stuff in our country is open and how it works and why we trust our police, parliament etc the most in the world. saying that weapons should be there because you should be able to rebel against your government is not really a good picture of showing that your country is pretty broken and the trust not existing
2019-04-23 22:42
I didnt literally mean that they would change the law overnight... I meant if the law were to be put in place tomorrow that restricted you from saying any curse words or words that can be seen as offensive. Would you support it? Incitement of masses can mean different things. If that only applies to incitement of violence I would agree. But I believe it covers more than that. Also, you still have blasphemy laws. How are you going to defend that? You think it is retarded that people should have the right to defend themselves from a tyrannical government? I'm sure all of the Jews in Nazi Germany would not agree with that. We just have fundamental differences. I would never trust the government with my right to say what I think. I for sure do not support turning in your right to defend against the government to the government. That is logically flawed. The 2nd amendment was there to fight against a tyrannical government, if you give that power to the government then you have neglected the purpose.

I dont think anyone would support such thing since the keystones of our country has always been trust and openness about our system Religion laws in the freedom of speech are in my opinion needed, for example a job applicant could be less favored because of religious believes would just retarded in this era, and same goes for hate speech against someone just because of their believes is just not needed since it created differences between us people, but our idea is that there should be no such things based on your religion I think that if the country has implemented democracy properly there should be no need of "right to defend themselves from a tyrannical government" Since there is so many ways that things can go wrong and so many peaceful ways that people can affect it and get the entire parliament to collapse here in finland for example as I told you in my previous message . Since its after all the people that choose the 200 people to the parliament and there is so many parties and differences that there can never really be only one party ruling, its always a group of parties that go together and have to compromise on their own ideas Nazi germany wasnt really a democratic heaven at the time so not really a good example to compare since many countries have taken democracy to use, some better than some others, but in my country for example its well used and the main keystone of our country.
2019-04-23 23:51
I think any laws that restrict speech that do not directly incite violence or defamation should be legal. There is not any speech that is too offensive that people should not have the right to say it. I agree that no one should be discriminated against for their religious beliefs, but I also think that if someone wants to be racist and not hire someone for their religious beliefs then I think they should be allowed to do that. Not because I support racism, but because I support freedom in almost all situations with very few exceptions. Instead of making it illegal to say racist things, everyone should let the racists say what they want, and then we can all explain why that guy is a fucking moron and why his racist thoughts are ignorant. Assuming your government can't become tyrannical is just a fantasy. The USA's government was made for gridlock to limit the power of each branch of the government. It was made so that 1 person would not have too much power, and still we believe that our government can become tyrannical because it has happened throughout history numerous times and it will continue to happen long after you and I are dead. The point with Nazi Germany wasn't that they were a bastion of democracy. The point was that Jews in Germany were not allowed to own firearms, because Hitler knew that a completely disarmed population is much easier to take over and control than a completely armed population. There is a reason why every tyrannical government in the world has stripped the people of their guns.

In my opinion about the right to not hire someone based on religious beliefs for example is just dumb, any type of racism has done a lot of damage to this world and pretty much the only way to stop it is to make it illegal so that further generations will not have the same ideas as we once had and this way some day in the future racism could be gone. Racism is in the end something that we humans once have created intentionally to make others superior, to use as advantage and because of fear and therefore it should be removed. Well Usa is not really a great example of limits of power, since there are only two parties, massive favoring another side between media for example and the president has a lot of fucking power compared to our president for example. Hitler only succeeded since people where tiered of democracy since in their opinion had failed them (look at the bitter state of ww1 which fault was thrown at germany) and hitler got a chance to piecewise make himself a dictator by example Scapegoating the jews for the terrible result of ww1 .But the difference was at the time democracy was a relatively new thing for countries in eu like germany for example at the time, and I strongly think that now when people know how terribly things turned out from ditching democracy I dont think it will happen again anytime soon. Another factor you have to look at why the holocaust happen was actually what I talked about: Racism, think your own race as superior to others and someone else as lower, one of the big factors that led to what happen is something that we today try to remove people from accepting, and if you ask me I think we are doing a pretty good job, since back in 1940 racism was a accepted thing but something that would not work today to use in a modern country A full piecewise tear down of a full democratic country has not happen many times in our history with some exceptions ,pretty much only the opposite of going from dictatorship to democracy with various success of implementing And I cant really come up with any scene of how our government would somehow become tyrannical without somehow changing the laws that we have liked and used as keystones for our country
2019-04-24 00:36
I think you and I just have different ideas on how to irradicate racism. I think that we should irradicate it by giving a counterpoint as to why the racists are wrong. When you just making something illegal it inadvertently makes people like me defend these pieces of shit because I believe everyone has the right to speak freely. I'm not going to pretend that I know the powers that you're president has. But the US government is pretty good are limiting power because of our 3 branches of government. Even though we only have 2 parties not everyone in those parties believes the same things, which is why we see not everyone in the party votes for the same things. I'd like you to answer this as honestly as you can. Do you really believe that Finland's government has absolutely no chance of becoming tyrannical?

I dont see it happening since the base of the government ideas is so deeply integrated into the society keystones and it has been there for a very long time and always appreciated by the people . Everything the government does is open and can be followed trough and people are very divided on political agendas and that why we have so many parties compared to 2 that you have. People has been ready to die to protect our system and I dont think that is going to change anytime soon. The only way I would say it could be possible was if a crisis of some kind, war with russia (not likely but risk existing) or something of similar caliber which in a centered leading would probably be accepted and things could escalate from that, but our government has always been made of mostly people that are very keen to serve the best for this country without interest of own personal outcome, but somehow getting every single party or somehow getting a group of people to be able to lead by tyranny is just something i cant get a vision of how but only in a extreme situation like war. But in a normal day of life I dont see it happening without a massive support of the people, and I have a hard time finding any logical answer to why it would suddenly happen and how the people would dithch the entire idea of our country and without support I dont see how it would work, since everything would stop in the country and almost every single man in finland is apart of the army so that the army being apart of something like a coup to get dictatorship into power is not likely
2019-04-24 01:01
Well, it doesn't need to happen suddenly, it may never happen, but I think saying it cannot happen is very naive. Since there is a chance even if it is small, I think that is the reason why every country should have the right to bear arms. If there is a chance of it happening don't you think that people should have the right to defend themselves?

Well as I said, very extreme situations, but what would you fight against? the army? and I dont think that you would win, but then again getting an entire army on a tyranny's side is something I see as impossible or extremely unlikely , nothing happens if the majority of people dont accept it, the civilization crashes and without a working civilization a dictator/tyran etc cant do much
2019-04-24 01:05
I disagree with that completely. You do not need a majority of anything to change the world. The majority of Germans didn't support killing Jews. The majority of Muslims didn't support 9/11 or any other terrorist attack. The only thing that was needed was a loud minority. Do you think everyone in the German army hated Jews and wanted to kill them? I don't. As for the 1st question, Yes. We would fight our military. We have about 2 million people in the military if you count reserves. So we outnumber them about 150x. On top of that we have almost 400 million guns in the hands of civilians. I don't think our chances are that bad.

Germans constantly deliberated questions of race, authority and loyalty. Only a minority became full-fledged Nazis, but most accepted the basic premises of the regime, including the isolation of German Jews. While most Germans had at least a vague idea of the Holocaust, they almost certainly did not endorse mass murder, which is not to say they were not complicit in the persecution of their neighbors along the way to the "final solution." "During the years 1945 through 1949, polls indicated that a majority of Germans felt that Nazism was a "good idea, badly applied". In a poll conducted in the American German occupation zone" I think does sums it up pretty well that there is not such a easy answer to the problem after all. Deep hate and years of putting the fault of the lost in ww1 had a significant impact into what happened in germany. It is true that a small group of people can cause great destruction like 9/11 showed us, but big changes like what happen in germany where not because of a small group, rather a very large group that accepted racism of race etc that made the holocaust available. But then again the 9/11 was not something permanent but rather a small extreme group whose vision where few accept, and I dont think they where loud about their ideas to shoot down planes into skyscrapers, but the germans in the other hand had a pretty long period of propaganda and as the study I copied shows it was maybe more accepted than you think to a certain degree. I think that proves my point somewhat, you often need a big majority to make permanent changes, short timed but significant impacts can be made but its the big majority that can only make them permanent, I cant really think of any example where a small group would have caused something permanent in a country without a major support, tell me if you come up with any. I have to sleep now, but thx for the discussion
