Is this okay or what?

Does not liking to watch gay movies or any gay stuff make me homophobic? There's this ad that's getting kind of annoying and invasive about an app called Grindr, at first it was just that not wanting to watch it, but then it got kinda overboard. I mean I have no bad feelings against them, I just happen to like straight stuff more since I'm straight. I've had this question in my mind for a long time, do you find a tint of homophobia? It's not my intention though, but I wouldn't like to feel that way though, that insecurity of not knowing if I'm behaving like a homophobic which seems to me utterly disgusting, we are all equal and we should all love and tolerate eachother and respect everyone's opinions and tastes. So what do you guys think?

It's alot easier to know if you are homophobic once you know what it means...

I know what it means, #11 gets to the point I quote: 'people use that term too loosely nowadays' I guess that's where my confusion comes from. This sloppy use of the word has blurred the entire meaning of what a homophobic person is.

Yeah, fully agree on that one

You get personalized ads. This means you get gay ads when you searched for gay shit in the past. If you searched for alot of pc hardware you could get ads for pc hardware etc. You should fully delete your browsing history and your cookies from your phone/browser/PC

Well, that's not entirely true there's an ongoing "trend" of everyone getting this ad. People have created reddit posts about it complaining on how annoying and invasive it is. Look at this google search: google.com/search?q=grindr+annoying+ads&.. EDIT: I think Grindr is trying to aim for a much wider audience: adult young men regardless of their sexual orientation.

It doesn't make you homophobic at all, people use that term too loosely nowadays.

Yeah, expressing your feelings or even sharing your thoughts about this topic has slowly become a bit of a taboo, it's crazy how many stigmas have been erased, how many taboo have been completely wiped out and it's unbelievable how many have been created. It's like the world is all the way around

You are fine my guy. There's nothing homophobic about not wanting to see adds or videos containing homosexual content. Would you call me heterophobic if the situation was reversed? That would be silly wouldn't it? Don't worry about being "homophobic" it's an overused term nowadays. Have a good day 😊

Thank you, bro. I guess there was some kind of confusion because of that exact same reason: overusage.

No, of course not. It's the same as not wanting to date a guy, it just doesn't align with your sexual preferences. Probably shouldn't ask here though.

its super okay, you just don't feel interested by that
