I’m 17, but all my brothers, who are now 30, 29, and 23 years old all got a job after Hugh school and didn’t go to college. Basically just worked as a garbage man and are getting paid about $30 and hour. My 30 year old brother almost has a nice house paid off, as well as everything else he has paid off. My 29 year old brother has a smaller house fully paid off, his car paid off. No debt. My 23 year old brother is still living at home, but he probably has a decent amount of money. 30 and hour is not a whole lot, but for not having to pay college debts definitely a good deal. But garbage men is a hard job.
2019-04-23 15:25
Are all of your brothers working as garbage men?
2019-04-23 15:29
Family tradition men
2019-04-23 16:15
But still. The odds of there being a job opening for garbage man, everytime they jumped outta highschool, is slim to none, dont you think? I would just be surprised, thats all.

WOT IS IOP
2019-04-23 15:14
How much will u make
2019-04-23 15:16
I'm already making plenty as a Strategy Consultant at age 24, turning 25 soon. Graduated with my masters degree in June 2017.
2019-04-23 15:17
Nice good for u. I'm still thinking about what I should study
2019-04-23 15:17
What are you interested in? What's valuable or regarded highly depends from country to country. It's funny how I probably wouldn't be getting the best job in Belgium with my degree, but I'm working in the UK in a very prestigious job now. different weightings and opinions in different countries. My own experience proves it
2019-04-23 15:19
Interested in economics and business
2019-04-23 15:19
Can't go wrong with that. Any country has highly regarded degrees within that. Pro-tip since I see you're dutch: You can actually go to university in Belgium at a cheaper rate and don't even have to apply for admittance (Everyone can join any university in belgium) The University of Leuven (KULeuven) has an amazing and highly regarded programme in business/economy called "handelsingenieur". Maybe worth checking out.
2019-04-23 15:21
im doing Information Technology computer software development and ive been learning on my own for a while now and plan to do it for college
2019-04-23 15:24
Well in IT we've got a bit of a different narrative, as some of the new emerging skills that will be in high demand are not even taught in college, and more and more companies investing big into technology are hiring people with the relevant skills that havent gone to college. Big data, AI, automation, XR/VR/AR technology, blockchain, Internet of Things etc etc

I went to college
2019-04-23 15:14
If u dont know what the hell you wanna do just take a 2-3 years off and maybe work a side job. I regret instantly going to a uni which makes false promises and me studying something I dont want.
2019-04-23 15:26
my parents wont let me do that because my brother did that when he graduated in 2017 and still hasnt decided and i guess they think id be like him
2019-04-23 15:32
I feel for you man, I can't really advice you much when I literally hit the panic button and joined whatever that was on my mind that I thought would make it work somehow. Just stall.
2019-04-23 15:38
once i grad in a month im thinking of just straight up going to a college or something for information technology or just on my own code and get a job and shit
2019-04-23 15:39
good for you, it's important to have a goal and if it doesn't work out no need to stress out. Adapt when necessary. All the best bruv

Went to university for one year (financial investments), passed but didn't like it so left. Applied for aircraft engineering and got accepted for the next year. Now i work as welder for one year, just to earn some money (I will save quite a lot cause I won't need to pay for rent or car cause live in my sister's house). Quite like working as welder and there are opportunities for career growth, so maybe even gonna stay.
