thanks but no, I haven't enjoyed a single marvel/superhero/comic-based movie so far so I'm not going to torture myself. Just not my thing edit: okay there's one exception, Deadpool (7/10). But only the first one, the second sucks ass edit2: shit there's another exception, Logan (8/10) - the girl was fucking awesome

Have you seen Tron legacy? (plus the original, you know) It's not the best movie of all time, but the story is simple to follow, the acting is at the very least decent, the visuals are great and Daft Punk's score is just amazing. One of my favourite movies to rewatch

Obviously. I just don't want to get sucked in by a good tv-series because if I do, I'm gonna watch it all at once. I can't control myself in this regard, that's why I don't want to start anything new until I finish the current ones

12 Monkeys 9/10 - amazing and very dark Ex Machina 7/10 - decent, though the ending was kind of lousy Blade Runner (the original) 9/10 - amazing climate and music Blade Runner 2049 9/10 - probably too much but I've been suffering from lack of good sci-fi for quite some time
2019-04-23 22:44
you probably seen all the good ones already but heres some more Terminator 1&2 The Martian The Man from Earth Sunshine Moon

Terminator 1&2 - 7/10 just out of sentiment The Martian - 7/10, would've been at least 9/10 and on my all-time favourite list if not for all the pathos at the end The Man from Earth and Sunshine go on my to-watch list, thank you for that. I think I'll start with The Man.. cause the story seems much more original

I watched Moon two days ago, rated it 7/10. I liked the moral dilemma of using clones as disposable workers. The thing that bothered me was the inconsistency of GERTY's behaviour; it was a machine programmed by ruthless corporation afterall so it seemed really far-fetched that it would do things in defiance of his creators - basically helping Sam to expose the Lunar corp and fuck everything up

7/10 the dystopian concept is one of my favourite in any genre (1984 is my favourite book of all time), though I felt like the movie had much bigger potential, especially the ending was kind of out of place. It seemed like they lacked budget to make it feel like the events have world-wide impact
2019-04-23 23:03
Completely agree with ''bigger potential'', I also think they could/should have done more.

I haven't actually, the alien franchise has been on my to-watch list for many, many years. I guess I need to finally give it a go, though horror-sci-fi isn't really my thing
2019-04-23 23:06
Well, you must really watch alien, at least first and second movies. I liked first one the most, the atmosphere is really dope in it, not like cheap horror movies nowadays.

thanks for your opinion, it gets me closer and closer to finally give it a try I watched Prometheus though and I believe it's the same universe? Didn't really like it (4/10) due to.. well, too much bullshit to write it all down. Does it have anything in common with the original alien movies?
2019-04-24 00:55
Without seeing Alien/s, Prometheus doesn't do to well as a standalone movie. You kind of have to know the lore, the sad part is that Ridley Scott's genesis trilogy (Prequels for Alien/s) leaves you with more questions that need answering in the follow up movies.

Yeah, watching Prometheus without knowing the lore was probably not the best idea.. Okay, too many people have recommended Alien, I'm sure gonna watch it now btw your nickname reminded me of my favourite horror movie - Sinister. The main 'villain' stuck with me in my dreams for quite some time after watching it..

Have you watched Memento? The most overlooked Christopher Nolan movie imo. Overshadowed by Inception, The Dark Knight and Interstellar. Alien and Aliens is a must watch for any sci-fi fan aswell.

Memento was great, I have it rated as 8/10 though. I remember I wanted to rate it higher but didn't due to some inconsistencies, can't say which because it's been too long since I saw it. I'll watch it again soon, thanks for reminding me of it. Agree about the overlooked part

Mars Attacks It is sort of like a parody of 1950's sci-fi movies and it is done so well it is one of my favorites. - of course along with many of the usual ones people have already mentioned. Also, not a movie but the TV-show Battlestar Galactica plus of course Dr. Who.
2019-04-24 12:19
If you like sci-fi parody I recommend Galaxy Quest ! Not that serious but a good movie overall.
2019-04-24 12:50
Thank you for the tip. I have seen that one and I agree, not a bad movie. Another one would be Iron Sky, not as iconic as Mars Attacks but for sure worth watching. Here is the trailers for Mars Attacks and Iron Sky. youtube.com/watch?v=DqtjHWlM4lQ youtube.com/watch?v=Py_IndUbcxc
