More people = more medals Now ask what country has the most medals per citizen
2019-04-25 01:57
China has less medals
2019-04-25 01:58
That logic doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If that were true, why do we still have more medals than China and India combined even though they both have quadruple the number of people in their countries compared to ours?

China competed at less Olympics and there has historically never been a lot of funding for athletes/it wasn't that important for China Compare U.S with it's 300mil citizens to EUW countries and you'll see the medal/citizen ratio is better for EU countries. Whole EU also has more medals than USA and we're pretty much one large country.
2019-04-25 02:24
Your second point doesn't validate anything lmao You can't just combine 28 countries and then say "Oh yeah we're so much better than your 1 singular country now"

Give it 20 years and it'll be one country. It's just more easily comparable by amount of citizens. Anyway, saying a country who doesn't have many medals compared to it's amount of citizens is stupid. That's like saying a country who wins a war against a way smaller country but has 2x the casualties is good at war, or a student who scores 1 point more on a test than a different student who only got half the test is the better student.

Honestly dystopian. I love Europe - it's a beautiful mix of rich culture, language, history.. the proponents of a 'United States of Europe' clearly have a disdain for celebrating our differences while maintaining our own sovereignty. It would be yet another financial disaster caused by the EU political project (like the 2004 expansion, implementation of the Euro) as the richer member states are forced to subsidise economies that never qualified for membership under the Maastricht regulations even more. Makes no sense.

Most of ur medals you got from pretty much 1-2 sports... uk and germany is the countries with the most medals cross dif sports... Ofc the US get that many medals when 90% of them is from swimming and athletic.. Imagine if there was handball with less or more players... then we wud win 20 gold medals just from that... or 20 dif variations in sailing or cycling So please tell me the US is good at sports again... bcus ur def not...

Amen. American should split to 50 countries run independently
2019-04-25 02:11

Are you serious? Like, one of the biggest "scandals" was that our Primeminister took money from his party to pay for a suit. And that he got a smoking room installed, that cost like nothing. Trust me, we have it much better than other places. In many places you carry enough money to bribe an officer. In Denmark I've NEVER heard of an officer accepting bribe.

I think the majority of Danes love Americans. The population, not the government. I personally have very good experiences with Americans, and I love the country. It's a big dream of mine to have a road trip across the US. That's something a lot of Europeans want to experience. A few things we don't like/understand in the US: - No free healthcare/education/library/etc... Like wtf, can't even imagine paying for hospitals. - Guns... Get rid of them, how hard can it be? We only see guns on Police officers. - Your two-party political system. Nothing is that easy. We have several parties all across Europe, and they work together to pass laws, etc etc.
2019-04-25 01:13
Ok I'm going to try to explain those things that you don't understand then - We don't have free healthcare because unlike the EU, we're 1 big country with 330 million people with only 1 government, we're not 28 different European countries with the population scattered out and 28 different governments - I don't know what to tell ya for this one. I don't think we'll ever get rid of guns. - I'm not much of a politician so I can't give you much info on this either. Besides that though I hope you get the chance one day to take that road trip :D When you stop by California be sure to pick up an In N Out burger. It's the best burger chain in the US
2019-04-25 01:53
He’s right about the two party system. It’s a shame that it still exists and is the reason for many political issues in the states

1) 500 million people in the European Union, and I think over half the countries have free healthcare. It's not cheaper or more effective that it's divided over so many countries. If anything it's more expensive. We actually have something called a "Blue EU health insurance card", that gives us the same rights as the people living in the country we're visiting. So if they have free healthcare, we get it too if we get injured when travelling. 2) Well, you could start passing laws that would make it much harder to obtain a weapon. And buy ammunition. That's a start. In Denmark, if you own a weapon because you're a hunter or whatever, you have to get a license for it, and you have to store the weapon in one locked safe, and the firing pin (??) in a different locked safe. Something like that. You're not allowed to have a rifle lying around the house with a firing pin in. Thanks, I hope so too! I have heard about In N Out burgers actually, must check it out!

Good point, but you're making the point of my case, not yours mate. You can't illegally obtain a gun, if there's no guns :-D

i dont like guns but it is impossible to get rid of them without the army searching every single building in the country and even then gangs and crime syndicates would still probably get away scott free

We have to look at the long term here, and it could be a goal to reduce the number of guns with 50% in 20 years? What I think will happen, is that people will see that gun related deaths and overall deaths will slowly fall, and that will give people the feeling that things are improving. And that will just enforce the effect. And after 20 years, a new goal will be to then reduce the number of guns with 50 again, but now in 10 years.
2019-04-25 02:47
Some time ago Australia had a shooting or sorts, this made them impose some very much stricter gun laws and they ran programs where people could give police their weapons and there was even some buy back laws where people got money for guns. This removed a lot of the guns there, something similar could be done in the US. Not saying it would solve everything, but stricter gun laws would steadily remove guns and make everyone safer. I hear that in the US children are thought in school how to react if there is a shooter and what not, something like that is unthinkable most other places and I can not understand how there isn't public demand for things to change in the US.
2019-04-25 16:06
The gun laws thing honestly depends on the state. If you ever come to California, it's one of the most gun restricting states in the US. But then you go a little bit south east and you have Texas, where almost everyone has a gun.

I wouldn't say its the average american that doesn't want free healthcare. If anything its the shitty political system that will never agree on a free healthcare system that's "good enough" for both parties.

There are like 3x more guns than people if i remember correctly + bill of rights shit that cant be gotten rid of easily. Its almost impossible to solve this problem in my opinion.
2019-04-25 01:54
the gun part is impossible as guns massively outnumber our entire population and many value their guns so they wont give them up easily. The two party crap is due to history. and as for universal healthcare and education, it’d be extremely difficult to implement due to high cost and how massive our population is. Tho the universal healthcare part will likely be implemented sometime in the future, its inevitable considering how our healthcare system needs to be changed and the fact its a main issue to tackle as seen in our midterms where one of the biggest issues for voters was healthcare.

Who makes money on your healthcare right now? Insurance companies? It's funny how many "capitalists" shame taxes as being communism.. When in reality, everyone paying X dollar per month, for everyone's healthcare, is exactly the same as everyone paying X dollar per month to an insurance company, to make sure you're covered if you get sick. The only difference is that one is controlled by a company interested in making money, and another is controlled by the government, which in a fair democracy, is you.
2019-04-25 02:34
yes, and its typical fearmongering. No need to worry. Any sane american knows that our healthcare is shit and needs to be changed. If trump gets elected in 2020, after that is where its likely that universal healthcare will be implemented no matter what. If trump doesnt, then this country could see itself with universal healthcare soon.

There are very few places on Earth that can compete with towns like Greenwich, CT... And which states have you visited?

Se #58 Ye i get that a place like Greenwich is heaven on Earth. But you cant take all of the 1%'ers and place them in one area and make that a general living standard for the hole country. The average american have it a lot worse than any other 1st world country. Just look how many homeless people u got man.

Yeah no doubt about that. Ofc a lot of the states have a high quality of living, but some states are like a fucking 3rd world country.

2019-04-25 01:02
Its needs to be that way. If they didnt have it like that, there would be no reason for the country to spend so much money on the military. The fact is, the US cant afford not to spend money on it. It would affect so many people and companies. So they need to make them be proud of being in the military.
2019-04-25 01:05

There's a difference between having an opinion about the internal problems within the US, which has an affect on the rest of the world in a major way, and simply hating on an entire population of 330M people for no reason. I'd argue that the stupid people are those that don't care about the problems going on in the US and their Republican and alt-right propaganda going on.
2019-04-25 00:46
We all know that the US isn't flawless, on the contrary they have a huge amount of dirty laundry. But I oftentimes get the feeling that HLTV is just picking on the States for the sake of doing it and because of the continuous EU vs NA feud in here. I just wanted to point out that not all of us are hating them nor have the need to point out said flaws all the time. I do hate their politics though.

Most of the time, it's picking on Trump supporters and in general American people who talk about politics although they have zero clue on the subject. I realize most of it is baiting, but a large percentage of the US actually believe the pro-alt-right propaganda.
2019-04-25 01:17
Yup, that's pretty terrifying. I don't know if you've stumbled upon a topic in here today about "teaching pedophilia in Californian schools", but the thread contained a great amount of those brainwashed alt-righters. Reasons why the USA is better than Denmark #1. Freedom of Speech #2. Right to Bear Arms #3. Biggest Economy in the world #4. Strongest military in the world Edit: 1 Thing Denmark has on us no minimum wage, we should do that too.
2019-04-25 01:01
#1. Freedom of Speech .. Really... emm Fake news ..fake news... fake news... #2. Right to Bear Arms.. The Gun Violence Archive recorded a total of 56,953 gun violence incidents in 2018, leading to 14,641 deaths and 28,161 injuries. 2018.. Well done... #3. Biggest Economy in the world. yeah sure... but what are u doing with that money... giving the rich tax breaks and starving the poor... Young ppl drowning in student debts and ppl cant afford basic healtcare... #4. Strongest military in the wold. .. yup but dont give a shit about your war veterans that are left behind in the dust.. Note.. there is no minimun wage in Denmark .. We have a very strong union tradition in DK.. cost an arm and a legg but is worth it.
2019-04-25 01:25
Just curious, since there is no minimum wage, how much do high schoolers (secondary education) get paid if they have jobs? In the US often they will be cashiers and general shop employees, if they choose to work. Have the unions set a minimum wage themselves or is it really just negotiable and up to the bosses.. Just wondering as I've never heard too much about it. Have a great rest of your day. Cheers from USA.
2019-04-25 01:35
We have differet unions for different jobs. Each union negotia a set of main rule..wich again can be negotiated just for a specific workplace. ( local deal) Udskilled jobs can pay alot depends on the company.but shop employees are at the lower end cashier (example) 18343kr. 2700us A month .114,42 kr. 17doller Pr houre union is alot weaker compared to the ppl who work in factory..produktion. my latest job unskill produktion worker 12houre shift. 27000dk a month 4k us. general all get like 6 weeks of paid vacation...paid sick dayes. cant sack ppl that are sick. materty leave too for both women, men can get a share of that too.
2019-04-25 02:43
#1. How does the USA not have freedom of speech? #2. Defensive uses outweigh violent crime with a gun by a huge margin. 500,000 - 3,000,000 defensive uses of firearms per year. #3. We are staying the most powerful country in the world #4. Its a shame that US veterans typically end up with mental health problems and homeless and we should be doing more to help them, I agree with that.
2019-04-25 01:55
Nice comment. Even though on 3rd one i would add the fact they are the country with biggest debt in the world, and, on the 4th, they're still getting fucked in the Middle East.

"Trying to compare suicide rates and crime rates between a country with around 6million people to a country with over 320 million. Nice one..." Oh god you're stupid, theyre both calculated per 100.000 capita, which adds no eftect to the overall capita. Are you sure you're ready to discuss anything? You seem very uneducated which bores me a bit tbh
2019-04-25 02:06
Dude, you already proved you were dumb as dirt when you said anyone that is proud of their country is an ignorant red neck. Now you do not understand how comparing crime rates between 2 countries when 1 has more than 50x the population of the other doesn't make any sense. Denmark is very ethnically homogenous, maybe you guys should let in 1 million immigrants per year and tell me how your crime rate is in a few years. You are probably the dumbest person to try to argue with me yet.
2019-04-25 02:36
Oh yeah the good old its the immigrants excuse.Rates are the the correct way to compare 2 countries with different population.Just for once try to solve your problems as a society instead of blaming the immigrants for the downfall and yes i am telling this as a greek ,who suffer from the same syndrome as you.
2019-04-25 02:50
I'm not blaming immigrants, I'm blaming the population size. Violent crimes tend to happen more in large cities where there are a lot of people in a small area. You are going to have more violent crime in a country of 320 million compared to a country of 6 million. Also, countries have different standards for what defines violent crime or just crime in general so comparing these 2 makes no sense.
2019-04-25 02:52
Ok i get your point about big cities and i can agree with you there but still why does that happen in the big metro areas. Is it poverty? Is it social exclusion because of poverty or is it something else? These are issues that a society has to deal with and not hide under the rug .

Ok 1 do you not understand what “per 100 000” means? 2. Do you think there is a reason the people in Denmark are happier or did you not think that far 3. Why is hate speech laws a bad thing? 4. #1. Do you not understand that comparing violent crime rates between a country that is more than 50x larger than another country does not make any sense at all? Obviously, it is per 100,000. Denmark is also almost completely ethnically homogenous. Maybe you guys should try letting in 1,000,000 immigrants per year, tell me how your crime rate changes in a few years. #2. #1 American gun control is fuck, the incarceration and jail system is fuck, education system is definitely fuck. And this is not due to the immigrants #2 it is not measured by polls maybe do some research first next time #3 (1) Denmark has more freedom of press and (2) hate speech is not a human right #4 well done, do u know understand that the EU is the worlds largest economy Also you do realize that Denmark has a higher gdp per capita then America right?
2019-04-25 02:37
America should have less gun control. I think we should legalize most drugs and stop spending money on incarcerating drug crimes, which is why our incarceration rate is so high. Our public schools are not good, but we have the best colleges in the world by a wide margin, the UK is 2nd and it's not even close. Happiness cannot be measured, so it is irrelevant. Hate Speech is a part of free speech and if you don't think so then you are a fascist. No, the United States has the biggest economy in the world, this is not my opinion this is a fact. I sourced it for you, you can look at it if you want. And?
2019-04-25 02:45
I think this turned into a discussion of whether you think Denmark is a better country. I think that we all get that you don't think that. But the man is just trying to explain why Danes are happy about Denmark and maybe frown upon some of the American (f)laws. Our whole idea of happiness and welfare is far from yours. We like safety, silence and social security. And our definition of safety is not weapons, but communication.
2019-04-25 09:27
Well yea, that's what we were talking about. I dont care about something that cannot be measured and is completely subjective. I understand that most of the world does not like American laws, specifically our guns laws. To me it just seems really odd how you are okay with all the powerful people in your country being protected by guns but them telling you that you do not have the same right to protect yourself as they do.
2019-04-25 14:41
Who are you referring to here? The police?
2019-04-25 15:16
Police/Security Guards/Other Government Agencies. I'm not sure exactly how it is there but in the United States, our President has a lot of security by the United States Secret Service/Homeland Security. I am assuming here, but, I would find it hard to believe that your Prime Minister has no armed security.
2019-04-25 15:22
The only people here bearing arms is the police, and I thing you're missing my point if you think that I have a problem with that. The police in Denmark is generally VERY patient, kind, non-trigger happy people. The only time I recall them firing their guns is if they are shot at. And that doesn't happen often. Of course our prime minister is protected, because he is a potential target. Me on the other hand, why would I be a target? Who should I be protected against? If there are no weapons, why would I need protection? Security guards have the same right to bear arms as a civilian = NONE. Not even a knife. Carrying a baseballbat is also illegal, unless you´re playing baseball. Driving home from work as a carpenter with a utility knife in your belt and stopping for gas is ALSO illegal.¨ An extract of the law: "prohibited from carrying or possessing a knife or dagger in public places, etc. unless it is carried out for business purposes, for use in hunting, angling or sporting activities or has another similar qualifying purpose" And this is what makes our country so damn great, even though you think the opposite.
2019-04-25 15:30
And if you still don't think we're safe enough in Denmark, please do visit us and chill out and do some street-yoga with the big bad policemen bt.bmcdn.dk/media/cache/resolve/image_12..
2019-04-25 15:37
That sounds so backward to me. I'll assume you're right about your police, I don't have anything to say otherwise. Most police officers in America are not trigger happy either, there are some but the vast majority are good people and good police officers. You do not need to be a target for someone to try and kill you, this is why we have Open Carry/Concealed Carry in a lot of states because things happen to random people all the time without being targeted. You say there are no weapons but correct me if I am wrong, you are allowed to own a gun for hunting in Denmark right? Also, weapons do not need to mean guns. It can be a knife, bat, car, hammer. Do you not find it hypocritical at all that your Prime Minister will stand there and say that you are not allowed to own firearms to defend yourself, while he has multiple arm guards around him? He wants to be protected by guns but if you want to then you will be thrown in jail. Edit: When I said security guard, I meant government security, not private security. I'm not sure what the government agencies are called there.
2019-04-25 15:47
In Denmark people don't just kill people..... Yes you are allowed to own a hunting rifle if you have a license to hunt, but you are MOST DEFINITELY not allowed to carry it around. It needs to be in a locked approved case when transporting it, and it needs to be locked away in a certified locker at home. Also, most people don't have a hunting license, therefore no rifle. To answer your question: you can't carry a hammer on the street either. Or a bat. Or a knife. I just think that you need to understand that people are not trying to kill each other i Denmark. It is very rare (except for some local gangs who are trying to kill each other, but not civillians) Of course I dont find it hypocritical - he's running my country, thus a lot more important than I am...? Again, who should I be protected from? Your mentality is totally screwed mate. I don't NEED protection. No one is trying to kill me. edit: the security is still just the police. Sometimes its the "PET", which I guess is kind of the FBI, I guess. Then let me ask you this: if the police can drive 80 in a 40 just because they are the police, why don't you have the right to do the same? Laws should be the same for everyone...? That logic doesnt work mate. We need hierarchy, laws and limitations. Everyone shouldnt own a gun, look at all the kids shooting up schools in the USA. What if their parents didn't own a gun, then they wouldn't have done that.
2019-04-25 16:06
Oh wow I must have forgot that when things are illegal people are unable to do those things. Just because it is illegal to carry a hammer or knife or gun doesn't mean people cannot do it. I can explain who you need to be protected from, the same people that are the reason I have the right to own a gun. The reason US citizens have the right to bear arms is to protect ourselves from a tyrannical government. Any government has the potential to become tyrannical and if you don't think that then you are naive. If my government ever tried to make it illegal to own a gun or carry a knife or anything like that, then I would have the right to grab my gun and defend myself with it. If a police officer comes to my house and tried to demand my gun because of a new law passed, he is going to die. I have the right to defend myself and no one can take it away, not my government, no one.
2019-04-25 16:11
And that, my friend, is why people don't like America :) In Denmark people tend to abide the law, so no need to protect yourself (yet). The difference is also that you're obviously afraid of your government as I am not afraid of mine. Our mentality is totally different from the American. I think you've proven my point now, take care.
2019-04-25 16:15
No, not afraid, they are afraid of us. Which is why they won't dare try and take our guns. Our government is afraid of us not the other way around. If you actually think your government cannot become tyrannical then you are just wildly ignorant.
2019-04-25 16:16
They can only do that if they are going to an emergency. Which is legal for me to do as well. If someone gets shot and I am driving them to the hospital and I was speeding I wouldn't get in trouble for speeding. I never said everyone should own a gun, I do not believe that.
2019-04-25 16:13
Not that I want this discussion to go further now, but I must ask you why shouldn't everyone own a gun? It's apparently their right to protect themselves? Then who are you to say that they can't?
2019-04-25 16:16
Violent Criminals, People in prison. People have certain rights taken away from them when they break law. I'm to say they cant because they already proved that they are not able to control themselves and follow the law. Do you want people in prison able to have a gun with them inside the prison?
2019-04-25 16:20
But EVERYONE else than violent criminals and people in prison should own a gun. That sounds unsafe :D also, If you think Denmark can become tycannical, then you obviously don't know Denmark. It's difficult explaining this to you, as you weren't born and raised here, but our mindset is a lot different than yours. You tend to expect to get fucked by anyone, the government included. We don't.
2019-04-25 16:21
Not everyone should own a gun besides them, But everyone else should have the right to own a gun if the choose to, I would never force someone to do something they do not want to. Any government can become tyrannical, it has happened numerous times throughout history and it will continue happening long after you and I are both dead. So if lets say if Russia invaded Denmark and take control would that not be a tyrannical government now?
2019-04-25 16:24
My own government wouldnt be tyrannical, but fortunately we have NATO.
2019-04-25 16:31
But the government in Denmark would be tyrannical. I agree, good thing we have NATO, but obviously I was dealing with a hypothetical. I do not think Russia will try to invade Denmark any time soon. That would really dumb and would cause their country to be destroyed.
2019-04-25 16:35

2019-04-25 15:45
Denmark economy >>>>>>>> US economy, we have next to no debt (unlike you who are basically the bitch of China now) and have a much higher bnp per citizen than USA will ever have. Our press have much more freedom than your which are basically all biased towards one of the sides (lmfao a country with only 2 politcal parties in 2019) - and guess what we can actually talk about Israel as we want unlike you oh thank you, we can keep the best quality of life thing in a debate of which country is the best to live in haha the size of ur military and economy dont influence your every day life, so why tf would that even matter lmfao
2019-04-25 16:00
Lol this dude just said the Economy doesn't affect everyday life wow... USA Economy>Anywhere else. This is not a debate it is a fact. Maybe we should stop paying for your defense and leave you to defend yourself so we can pay off our debt fast. You want that?
2019-04-25 16:02
The average dane is much more wealthy than the average american, your "size" of economy doesnt matter since ur over 300 millions. your not paying for anything as it is, the NATO deal is 2% of national bnp, but honestly yes i would love if america focused less on their military and more on developing their country the world would be much better off.
2019-04-25 16:09

I hope you realize that a big majority of the NATO defense is from the US and 22% of the entire budget is pretty big considering there are 29 countries in NATO

That's not how it works mate. NATO members signed a deal to defend eachother bla bla bla, and each member must spend X % of their GDP on military, so that everyone contributes fairly, and one is not defending everyone else. So that part is the BIG part of the NATO "budget". It's actually the countries own budget, and their own money, spent on their own military. NATO itself, let's look at it like a company. It's a company assigned with the task of making sure all NATO members communicate properly with eachother, and they have kinda like their own military. They have their own NATO planes etc. and very high ranked officers controlling NATO. American Generals i think. All of that has a cost, and the cost of that is $1,4 billion/year for the military, and $250 million for the civilian part. This is for the payment of two headquarters, one in the US, and one in Europe. And those $1,65 billion is paid by all of the NATO members. USA pays 22% of that. And $1,65 billion is peanuts compared to the US defense budget of over $600 billion :-D
2019-04-25 02:29
I agree it is not very much money but if you want to talk about our debt then I'll talk about how much money we spend on helping other countries without reciprocation. This goes back to me saying we have the biggest economy in the world and the best military, so how does any of this prove my point wrong?
2019-04-25 02:39
Still doesn't change the fact that we pay for 22% of it which is just a tad bit much for 1 country when again, there are 29 countries in NATO

The total population of all of the NATO countries is 600 million people. And one NATO HQ is in your country, providing jobs for your citizens. How much would be fair to pay then? :-D The only reason you're not paying 50% is that the rest of NATO acknowledges that the US military provides a huge part of NATO's foundation.
2019-04-25 02:50
NATO was introduced as a deterrent to soviet ''aggression '' .And the violent expansion of communism had died off in the 20's so yeah.A waste of trillions of dollars that pact has been.

How would that help? NATO members pay their own defense budgets, not eachothers. The cost of running NATO is around $1,4 billion for the military part, and $250 million for the civilian part, according to a recent article about it. The US pays 22% of that. $300 million/year, big fucking deal. If anything, you have cost us fortunes, with the wars you pulled us into. And the effects of them that we are now seeing with terrorism everywhere.
2019-04-25 02:05
Denmark and Norway are supposed to be using at least 2% of their GDP but they are not. Only 5 of the 29 countries have met this goal. So other countries are not paying their fair share.

Actually a funny detail that they forget in that debate is that the Danish military got huge funding cuts not so long ago. But those cuts were because they wanted to focus much more on funding a good, well-trained army, and not spend a lot of money on conscripts. I agree though, I think Denmark could and should spend 2% of GDP on their military. I think it will come very soon. We also just bought a shitload of F35 planes from you guys. Well okay, only 27, but that's a lot for us :-D
2019-04-25 02:41
I was not aware of that, I'll have to look into it. I hope you guys do spend more on the military, because the best way to ensure you never have to use your military is if you have the best military in the world. 27 F35's is a lot for a country with only around 60,000ish military personnel.

2019-04-25 05:09
Denmark is probably one of the least criticized members of NATO by USA, because we have always been ready to help. We were in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Somalia etc. with you guys, we patrol Estonia and Lithuania to help the eastern block and stuff like this. Even though Denmark is working towards the 2% goal, we are far more effective than most in what we do, this is the reason why Trump and USA didn't criticize us as much as others. To take an example, the Danish frigates with a crew of 10 persons can do the same as American frigates with a crew of 80 persons. We excel in efficiency, which is also one of the reasons why the US military was on a study trip in Denmark in mid-2018. Most Danes agree though that we should reach the 2% mark sooner than later, we have always been a close ally of the US when it comes to military operations. Its also important to note that if we look at the contributions for each citizen in $ from NATO-members, Denmark is in top 5(Norway top 2 behind USA). However this isn't a fair measure point to the NATO-members with less money than Denmark and Norway.

We have learned the difference. You haven't. Modern immigration is people who believe in your constant bullshit about coming to the land of the free, land of opportunity, etc etc. - You're the one literally inviting them. They come to you in search of a better future. Most of them are good people, and they mean no harm to anyone. Colonization 400 years ago was literally the worst people of Europe that wanted to go somewhere where they could fuck with a bunch of helpess, clueless native americans with bows and arrows. You came to a place that was completely cut off from the -back then- modern world, and you took over the shit. Colonization is/was 1000x worse than modern immigration. And your bullshit about how homo sapiens populated the earth thousands of years ago... gtfo please...

Basically we're uptight and "hate everyone". But the American way of life is just so far from the Danish, I'd say. In Denmark most people hate religion, capitalism and war. And that is exactly what America is: A nation of money, war and religion. In Denmark we love the fact that we take care of each other. In America it's every man for himself. Also, I find it that Danish people are ofent aware of their surroundings as opposed to Americans who are often very loud, noisy and bragging. But maybe that's just my personal view. I'll leave it to other Danes to confirm or reject.
2019-04-25 09:02

I don't hate America, but i don't like the way America is. In Denmark why have a good healthcare and we are one of the happiest countries in the world. We pay a lot of taxes yes, but we are all healthy and have roof for the most people, even the homeless. If your government would stop being selfish with the money, and start helping their own people, maybe it would not be so bad. Overall i hate your leaders for what they do to you, and i believe that the most of you are good people. And also, change the way your gun-laws are, it's chaotic already.

To the OP. No hate for America here, nor do I think other Danes have that except perhaps if they want to provoke for some silly fun ie. trolls. When growing up I used to dream of moving to the states to work, but as I became an adult and learned more about the US more and more things made me question that dream. What I see is a place that works very well for those that have success, but is mediocre at best for everyone else and while my profession would likely put me in the success category I would hate knowing how so many around would be struggling to make ends meet. Essentially put, being in a happy place means that not only I but also people around me should be happy. I still think the US has a lot to offer and just hope you guys change some things since that could make a big difference, like make it so that people do not have to work two jobs and make health care a right not something must be scared of loosing. I envy my friend from Texas how much space there is and for example how he lives in easy driving distances of racing tracks - any tracks we have over here are like Mickey Mouse ones not even worthy of his local car club.
