If someone knows these, mad props to them. Giant Steps - John Coltrane Waltz for Debby - Bill Evans Piano Starts Here - Art Tatum Nightconcert - Erroll Garner Something Else - John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderly Live at Carnegie Hall 1938 - Benny Goodman Live in Yugoslavia 1964 - Oscar Peterson Concert by the Sea - Erroll Garner Live at the Village Vanguard - Earl Hines Oscar Peterson and the Bassists, Montreaux 1977 - Oscar Peterson New Orleans Piano Wizard - James Booker The Lost Paramount Tapes - James Booker I’m a professional Jazz pianist, so hopefully this list makes sense to someone here :)
2019-04-26 11:50
Giant steps is magical. Can't say the other album names ring a bell, but Bill Evans and Erroll Garner stand out in my head for some reason. If you like this stuff, and also enjoy guitarplaying, you might enjoy Guthrie Govan by himself or with the Aristocrats aswell. One of the absolute greatest guitarists of our time.
2019-04-26 11:57
oh I will try out some. I like jazz, jazz-fusion like Madlib's side projects Yesterdays New Quintet, The Last Electro-Acoustic Space Jazz & Percussion Ensemble, Young Jazz Rebels (who was inspired by Miles Davis), Hidden Beach Recordings, The ClubCasa Chamber Orchestra, Sly5thAve
2019-04-26 12:07
Other than that, I actually don't think I can mention 15 favorites out of all the ones i like, but here are some that comes to mind atleast: Extreme - Pornograffitti Buckethead - Electric Tears Led Zeppelin - IV John Mayer - Continuum/Live at Nokia Theater (can't decide) Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes Queen - probably easiest just to say a "greatest hits" album concidering every album has something special Dream Theater - Scenes from a memory/Octavarium Hans Zimmer - MI:2 Antonio Vivaldi - 4 seasons GnR - Appetite for destruction Toto - Best of album again probs Pink Floyd - The wall/Dark side of the moon The Aristocrats - The aristocrats Eminem - Marshal Matters LP + maybe The Eminem show Dire Straits - Best of album again Steven Wilson - Hand cannot erase Joe Satriani - The extremist That's all that pops into my head atm. Probably also either an Eva Cassidy album or Adele's 21/25 should be on that list as well

Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes perhaps?
2019-04-26 12:22
Alongside Bucketheads electric tears, Erotic Cakes is probably my favorite album of all time in amounts listened to it. Insane album
2019-04-26 12:34
any Jimi Hendrix'/his band's releases? (no one mentioned him smh)
2019-04-26 12:37
I know this is like cursing in the curch, but I honestly get that much out of Jimi for some reason, even tho most of the other guitarist I like are directly influenced by him. However, I REALLY like his version of All along the watchtower and some other stand-alone songs.

Actually I hadn’t seen your post with Guthrie, he’s definitely the best guitar acrobat of our time
2019-04-26 12:45
What makes him even more insane in my eyes is that he wrote waves at age 19 or 20... I mean, come on hahah. If you dig him, listen to the following guestsolo's he has: (all on youtube) watch?v=oHew2D9zDw0 watch?v=EaNDFM2vnHQ watch?v=IaH2C2Qe97Y watch?v=ycYewhiaVBk (from 3.50 or something and out, but in general the whole song) Edit: fuck, I forgot River of longing. That one is fucking INSANE
