Skipping events and only attending garbage 1 map format tourney (which are fix of course making them big moniez) does not deserve a #1 ranking.

All what they will do now is to skip everything possible and be number one for much as they can. If they attend half of the tournaments and lose they will lose points too.

If you don't attend tournaments, you won't gain points either so just say liquid have a run, it's possible they can be toppled.

Yes. For sure. I remember the time when SK was Number 1 then lose one final and Astralis was on the top even without winning the event. Then won the next one and easily get 1000 points and 1st place.

to put it into context, Renegades come 3rd in there groups at ESL Pro League (equal first just 3rd on round difference) with the only bo3 they lost was with 2 stand ins and lost around 40 points, Astralis didn't make the final of a Blast event lost 3 maps in a row and lost 8 points with a full roster

u dont know how the system works then, a team can have more than 1000 points (this happens when u win 10 tournaments in 9 months like astralis did and no other team did before) but u can only see a maximum of 1000 points on hltv
2019-05-14 02:34

still the amount of points RNG lost for losing 1 bo3 with 2 stand ins is stupid and yes the system is meant to take into account stand-ins that why they have a relevance %
2019-05-14 10:44
also how has liquid lost 50 points after winning IEM Sydney and Astralis lost 17 points for being runner up at Blast Pro Series, if not attending Blast pro series is worth -50 points then why dont Astralis lose more then 50 points every time they don't attend a higher tiered event?
2019-05-15 05:25

why would they need to reinvent?... They haven't yet been properly challenged by any team and Liquid won't overtake them unless they win at least the next 2/3 event.

fix doesn't mean winning 100%, I mean they get big checks just to attend, and they know they aren't going to loose their ranking anytime soon unless liquid win the next 2/3 events (unlikely), which just makes it seem like they are lazy and only in it for the ranking and money

2019-05-07 10:19
LOL typical cs community :complains about tryharding astralis :complains about astralis not attending events If i had won back to back champions, won the first intel grand slam, earned millions of money, i would give a big pat on my back and spend more time with my family and friends instead of attending every tourney possible just to maintain my no 1 spot while missing alot more on living the life. Can't you see astralis members are all family, how theyre close to each other. It is good for them to value their time off more when you had achieved so much already. Plus, it is only their first year skip these many events. I say they deserve the break they need after all the hard works theyve put in the past years.

"complains about astralis not attending event"... nope that is not the point here... the point is that they choose to attend all BLAST events and skip other more prestigious events for *reasons* (fix), they could have skipped BLAST events too but why not... because *conflict of interest*

Dude you clearly do not know what the fuck is going on do you The 7 teams that i mentioned in #45 will be skipping events as well to go to Blast because all 7 signed exclusive contracts to go to Blast. Even the team you go for, hence why they skipped Starseries and will skip ESL One

do you understand that Astralis is owned by RFRESH who is running BLAST???... none of the other teams are owned by a tournament organiser... I don't think you understand the argument so just stop commenting like an idiot

I don't think you understand that Blast Pro Series and Astralis are COMPLETE TWO DIFFERENT PRODUCTS of RFRSH. Earlier you said about the point being "they choose to attend all BLAST events and skip other more prestigious events for *events*..." Yet in what I said, the 7 teams will be skipping tournaments to attend Blast like Astralis did. Astralis and Liquid always skip Starseries, Astralis skipped IEM because of dev1ce's health issues and that being affected by the long distance travel since Sydney is on the other side of the globe, Astralis will skip Dreamhack since it's right after Blast and Liquid, that's right, THE TEAM IN YOUR FLAIR - WILL SKIP ESL ONE COLOGNE FOR BLAST PRO SERIES L.A. hltv.org/news/26559/jordi-roig-of-rfrsh-.. "When people criticize what we're doing it's because they don't know what's happening..." "That's easy, the 2019 season has seven teams, seven partnered teams, and those seven teams have to play five out of the seven tournaments we're putting together." Clearly you have no idea what is going on and you can't even understand your own statements so just stop arguing like an idiot.

So you send me a 23 minute clip of Thorin talking, (although like us he isn't part of RFRSH or the 7 teams participating and doesn't know everything about the whole situation, as well as the fact he's human meaning he also has errors and things he didn't discussed), you clearly didn't read the interview I sent you. Get your facts right, if you want someone to believe you, you can't think in a one-way street. "none of the other teams are owned by a tournament organiser... I don't think you understand the argument so just stop commenting like an idiot" But what you don't know is that 7 TEAMS (IVE SAID THIS A FUCK LOAD OF TIMES BUT THESE ARE C9, ASTRALIS, FAZE, LIQUID, NIP, NAVI AND MIBR) WILL BE ATTENDING 5 BLAST EVENTS OUT OF THE 7, MEANING THAT THEY CAN TAKE A BREAK FROM 2 TOURNAMENTS. ASTRALIS ARE PLAYING IT SMART BY GOING TO BLAST NOW TO ATTEND LARGER PREMIERS IN THE NEXT MONTH WHICH ARE ECS, ESL PRO AND ESL ONE. DID YOU ALSO KNOW THAT THOSE 7 TEAMS HAVE SIGNED AN *EXCLUSIVE CONTRACT* WITH RFRSH TO ATTEND THOSE BLASTS I've said this before and I'll say this again, Astralis are skipping Blast LA to attend all 3 tournaments whereas YOUR FLAIR will be attending Blast LA and skip ESL ONE. Liquid even skipped Starseries to attend Blast Sao Paulo. IEM Sydney was a different story however since they can't travel long distances and don't use Dubai as an excuse because the time it takes to go from Sao Paulo to Miami is the same as Madrid to Dubai, where as Central Europe to Shanghai/Sydney takes 24hrs Here is the link to the article which you clearly did not read: hltv.org/news/26559/jordi-roig-of-rfrsh-.. Also just because it's thorin, doesn't mean he's always right, as well as the fact those video aren't called "thorin's explanations" or "thorin's facts". No it's called "Thorin's thoughts"

I recognize that there actually IS someone in here capable of THINKING! As THE number one team of all times I wouldn't listen to anyone anywhere ... especially not a ridiculous or insignificant chat on hltv. I would pick and choose ANY event according to my convenience ... And for sure enforce my SUPERIOR strength against anyone on any map in any format ... Astralis for sure don't win everything against anyone ... but the "Skipping events" is only showing the professionalism of Astralis: EVERY other team will follow this pattern from now on. As well as the "100 ADR" utility ... EVERY OTHER TEAM in the world simply have to follow whatever, Astralis dictates or defines regarding how this game is played.

Dude, every BLAST team will attend 5 out of 7 events on the 2019 calendar. Confirmed by BLAST. So every single BLAST team will attend the same amount of tournaments. So Astralis will probably skip BLAST events closer to the Major. Which makes good sense tbh.
