Need a new mouse
 |
Denmark Twick_
So, my old mouse broke after 3 years and I am going to buy a new. I just dont know which one to buy. Preferably, it should have a programmable button on the side. What are your recommendations?

You should test them out. Basically they are all the same but different shape. Ec series are ergonomic, fk, za and s series are ambidextrous. All have side buttons.

Damn, then I am not going for zowie. Those programmable buttons are pretty important for me

Maybe SS Rival then. I think you can program your buttons in Steelseries Engine.

I don’t really like the design of the rival series. I want a more clean and generic design

The new logitech wireless mice have less latency than wired mice. The wireless have 1ms while wired has 5ms. I have the g305. Same sensor as the g pro wireless, but way cheaper. Once you go wireless you won't wanna go back. I also bought energizer lithium AAA batteries with a AAA to AA adapter, which cuts the weight down pretty good.
2019-05-15 23:19
people still believe this but i got a G Pro Wireless and there is no way i want to go back to wired, its so much better and less annoying, it is pricey however tho

2019-05-16 09:10
Haven't tried it but have heard only good things about it. If the shape is good it should be good.
2019-05-17 10:45
logitech is probably a good middle ground. zowie is good, but you pay for branding more than anything else. and as for the corsair mouse that i have, i read many reviews and they are alll happy with it. so its entirely possible that a company that wasnt known for good mice before, started making decent mice.
2019-05-16 13:25
Yeah, their mice are not bad either especially for more casual gaming. But they can't compare to zowie or logitech at least yet.
2019-05-17 10:46
yea for casual its not reallllly that important. i have a very high dpi and very good sensor mouse now, but i think i was as good in csgo as i am now, with my old no-name regular logitech office mouse. i guess it only makes a difference when you really put the hours in and practise etc.
2019-05-17 16:10
I have noticed thag a good mouse improved my consistency a bit, but after all it is about finding a more comfortable mouse. A mouse won’t straight up make anyone better.

maybe for casual gaming but for csgo it is a shitty way too heavy mouse with too many unnecessary buttons. Definitely the most overrated mouse there is.

Sorry to say, but I am not going to expirement with razer. My friend told me never to buy something from them for a few different reasons
2019-05-14 15:55
Alright, it's fine. I've been using my Deathadder for 4 years and it's still going strong
2019-05-14 16:13
Deathadder is one of the only good razer products. But it is understandable for those very reasons you have been told to not buy their products.
2019-05-14 21:39
Check out A4tech A90, it's basically razer deathadder but it doesn't break in 2 months. I've been using it for years and it's really cheap. The only bad thing about it is the sensor is not top tier but considering its age and price i would say it's not really a downside. The best thing about it is, it has metal feet instead of regular plastic ones. I would say it's definitely worth checking out.

You can't go wrong with A4tech, i had their x7 mouse back in the day and that shit was like a nokia 3310. Idk if you can find A90 in Denmark though, apparently it's not sold in many countries anymore. Good luck finding the best mouse, you can check logitech and zowie too btw. It's best if you can try the mouse at a store and see how it fits to your hand.

Thought the same when I first got it. prnt.sc/nokvcy I've made this a couple months ago (sizes from left to right: width, height, length), if you know your last mouse's size you could compare it with those if you wanted. Since your hand is kinda narrow compared to mine (18 x 10 cm) I'd buy a narrower mouse if I were you, such as the Rival 110

Had a logitech laser for 4-5 years and it was great for most things. But then I got my ec1-a (optical) and I noticed a pretty big change in my quickness/smoothness in csgo. The logitech mouse had its upsides though: incrementally scaleable dpi AND a scroller that can toggle between modes. On my zowie I struggle to play games like dota2 where I want to adjust my dpi, and it cant scroll pages as fast as other mice

What makes zowie superior?
2019-05-14 21:48
The "EC" in their EC series stands for Emil Christensen, aka HeatoN. This series of mice are literally designed specifically for CS and many pro players think it has the best shape, performance etc available on the market. From the link I posted above: "Around 41% of CS:GO professionals use this series of mice, which has been designed specifically for this game in cooperation with CS legend Emil “HeatoN” Christensen, so perhaps it’s no surprise that so many Counter-Strike professionals absolutely seem to adore this product."

I am not really into wireless mice, my best experiences has made me avoid them. Edit. And wires aren’t a problem
2019-05-14 22:25
Zowie FK2 White , it's not fucking massive like the other zowie mouses, you wont feel pain while playing DM for example. For me thats the perfect mouse.

I really rate the programmable buttons highly though, and I have been told you can’t do that with zowie :(

I got my eye on upcoming Glorious PC Gaming Race Model O missed out on finalmouse ultralight so i found this one instead.
2019-05-14 22:24
You are lucky that you didn't got a final mouse because their build quality is shit, their scroll wheel breaks very fast
2019-05-15 19:14
pre ordered the glorious model o, will arrive 27th this month. cant wait
2019-05-16 15:35
You never mentioned your hand size and grip style or budget either, so impossible to recommend something. Just saying go for a Zowie or Logi is as idiotic as it can be really.

My hand is 18 cm and 9 cm. I don’t have a max budget but if it’s over 100 euro then I won’t buy it. The mouse has to have programmable buttons. I is the calm grip where my hand lays on the mouse
2019-05-15 19:09
Claw grip and hand size is above average. Hmm if its a Logitech then try the G403.

That’s the one I ordered, so you think it would fit my hand size?
2019-05-16 09:12
Yes, it absolutely should. You are claw grip, so you will rest your palm on the mouse, and for that G403 is very good. It is cancer for people like me, the fingertip grip. My hands are almost same size as yours 19/9.5.

Model O
2019-05-15 19:17

quite different from mine, claw and 18x10 i own a g203, but it feels a bit small, while with the razer abyssus i own for a few years it feels extremely comfortable (but the sensor is flawed). i'm kinda torn between the sensei and the roccat
2019-05-15 20:02
If you like the abyssus you could get the new version of it abyssus essential /elite or the jugan

then the g403 is perfect for you
2019-05-16 04:34
If your hand is 18 cm, the g403 probably is not a good option. My hand is similar, the first days this feels good, but then you feel it uncomfortable, because of the hump it has. It's a good mouse, good materials, good sensor, but the problem that I see is that hump.

I am not going to buy razer or fakes, unless you mean every other mouse is a fake. My friend told me they are generally more expensive and they have a shorter warranty and they usually have a shorter lifespan than other mice.

Do as you want. Just like Logitech you don't need a warranty from a shop with Razer. All you need to do is visit raxer.com most products has 1-3 year warranty mouses = 1,5
2019-05-16 13:37
Logitech g602 (or a newer model of the mouse if there is one). It's a wireless mouse with absolutely no lag input and I only have to change the batteries (2 AA) like a few times a year, with me never turning the mouse off. I've been using it since Christmas 2015. The mouse naturally has a little more weight on it and size as well, which I like when it comes to what I'm shooting people with. I can't stand a light mouse personally.

Can you recommend the g403? It’s the one I ordered
2019-05-16 09:15
Most of the g series mouses are pretty good. If someone is looking for a basic style with two side buttons, it's a pretty good choice. Personally, I'm a big fan of the six buttons I have on the side of my mouse and the size of it. I wouldn't enjoy the g403 because the design isn't attractive to me, but don't consider that point because I have a weird taste in mouses. I like heavier, smooth (so no wireless razer stuff), preferably wireless pieces. If your older mouse was more similar to this new one compared to others that were suggested to you, you made a strong and safe choice.

Too many people said g403 but its kinda hard to use that if you are more of a claw gripping person. I have been using it for 2-3 years and you have to get your hands pretty warm to grab and control it better. And its very hard to press the programmable buttons if you are a claw person. Go for g pro wireless instead.
