20 year olds+ tell of your favorite NES game
Song |
United States TheSingerWhoWasNeverBanned
Mine was Ninja Turtles III, quite an obvious pick but the soundtrack won my heart. Great game to this day, I think this game alone is better than anything that was released on PC last 5 years, 10 years even. What's your favorite game and boss in the NES/Sega MD universe?

Gunsmoke.... damn that game still gives me the chills. When I was five or six years old, and found the horse powerup on the first map, it's a moment i'll never forget. I knew then that I would spend most of my life playing video games =)
2019-05-16 17:34
I honestly would still play those awesome games, they have a special vibe. A piece of my childhood.

comprehend what? You said that some beta Ninja Turtles III are better than all PC games released in last 10 years. This ain't right pal, get ur facts straight.
2019-05-16 18:15
Again, you don't get it, do you? An opinion can't be wrong my silly girl and yes, I really think so. Also your initial post made no sense either, by the time those games were out consoles were the epitome of gaming. PC had no sway back then.

You can disagree and act accordingly your age or you can try to drop out something edgy and irrelevant to the topic and leave like an idiot. You chose the second. I won't miss you.

All for NES? Good picks.
2019-05-16 18:14
NES: Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 1, 2 & 3, Dr. Mario SNES: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, F-Zero
2019-05-16 17:52
Bruh, same here.
2019-05-16 17:56
I remember getting really fucking angry over the worm boss near the end of A Link to the Past in the mirror world. My mom told me that I was swearing at a worm while sleeping and she was confused who I was talking to. I'd play Mario every day after my grandpa picked me up, until my mother picked me up. It's really insane looking at videos from F-Zero for example and seeing how far technology and games have advanced in that time. Makes you feel older than you really are.
2019-05-16 18:03
Yeah, I grew up with the NES, eventually my older sister had borrowed a SNES which we played together until she returned it. I do not have a SNES, but I do have two NES consoles laying around with roughly 20 games. I remember how obsessed I was over SMB3, started playing it when I was 4 years old and I was able to finish the game when I was 8/9 years old. However, I've only been able to finish SMB1 to 3 on NES and SMW for the SNES.
2019-05-16 18:21
Great memories! Did you come across the Turtles? They've been several versions actually and all pretty good.
2019-05-16 18:22
I did play the NES TMNT, but I got so extremely irritated by the difficulty, I never finished the game sadly. I'm pretty sure we had nearly 50 games before, but we let our former neighbor and some others borrow a few games, never saw those games again.
2019-05-16 18:35
Sad indeed, had happened to me too as well. I also loved Sunset Riders, maybe you've heard, on Sega. Great memories of the days passed.
2019-05-16 18:40
I never had an SEGA, I do remember a friend that had a punch of different game consoles. Atari 2600, Sega Genesis, NES, SNES, Famicom, Commodore 64 (I know it's a computer, but still! ) and had a few arcade machines with Pac-man, Donkey Kong and Street Fighter. His brother was extremely into collecting games and consoles.
2019-05-16 18:49
That's a lot indeed but can you recall what's your top of console bosses would be? Across NES I suppose.
2019-05-16 18:50
Dark Link from Zelda II: Adventure of Link, that was until I found out that if you sit in a corner crouching and attacking him. SMB2 had the hardest boss in comparison to the bosses in SMB1 and 3, but it wasn't that hard either, hmm... I only had Megaman I and II, but I remember how hard every boss was, well at least every stage until I got to the boss(es), I mean that's usually how it is, but the Megaman games had another type of difficulty I cannot explain. Woodman from Megaman II was probably one of the hardest if not the hardest of the bosses in that particular game. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was an absolute nightmare, and I wish to never replay that game again, I don't even know the ending of that game.
2019-05-16 19:16
Woh, great list. I only can name 3 actual bosses, not particularly hard but they meant a lot and I have the most memories about them. youtu.be/WLeRPt4xRJc?t=181 Here's one of them Skip to 3:00 if the timestamp failed

2019-05-16 18:26
Did you come across the NES Turtles though? This one had a special place for me and is still thrilling.
2019-05-16 18:27
Never got to play it but all i have heard is praise may have to get a emulator and give it a whirl.
2019-05-16 18:34
I strongly advise to do it, it's never late but if you can get a grip of keyboard play in emulator, you're gonna be satisfied like you possibly can.
2019-05-16 18:39
You're asking about a console that is older than most people who are in their 20s now. You should probably ask 30+ yr olds instead
2019-05-16 18:09
Not necessarily so, I lived in a village so the consoles just arrived in time, it was an early 00s or very late 90s. The games I played were made in the early 90s, including Turtles.
2019-05-16 18:12
weird. But most 20somethings (or ppl born in the 90s) didn't grow up with nes or even snes. But rather N64, ps1 and PC and then xbox/ps2
2019-05-16 18:36
I realise I just didn't think about it at the time of creating this thread.

Yea I'm 23 and my first console was a ps1
2019-05-16 18:13
My parents didn't want to spend money on newer consoles, so they bought an NES with a few games for us which was perfectly fine, well apart from me being the only one out of my friends that didn't have a PS2.
2019-05-16 18:41
By the time ps2 was out, the NES was like an 18 year old console, so i'd say it's pretty rare for at least 20-25 year olds to be brought up with NES. At least in the first world
2019-05-16 18:45
Hm, I lived in a "tätort", I don't know if that says much.
2019-05-16 18:58
that literally says nothing, it's just another word for village/town/city
2019-05-16 19:17
I dunno, my parents didn't really care much for games, especially my mother since she gets dizzy when playing games with more advanced graphics.
2019-05-16 19:20
Super Mario Bros Contra Sega: Mario Pizza Pop (its a bootleg i know) Sonic Hedgehog dunno what

Why do you think you can even tell me the price the N64 was on the RELEASE WEEK IN BRAZIL?? Btw I was wrong... it was OVER 1000 DOLLARS. By dad bought it for 1000 reais, and back then the Real was slightly more valuable than the dollar: yahii.com.br/dolardiario96.html Just in June the Dollar surpassed the Real, and the N64 was released before. So yeah, it costed my dar something like 1050 US dollars to buy a new N64 back in the release week IN BRAZIL.

2019-05-16 19:46
SMB3 was dope :) SMB1+2 were fine aswell. The golden Zelda was the best looking cartridge by far. edit: there is another incredibly hard game I played for hours at an afterparty that had an actual NES, its name was Robowarrior, have you ever played it? also the turtles game name was turtles in time i think ("Big Apple, 3AM")
2019-05-16 19:04
Was it the one I'm talking about? With 8 levels and Super Shredder in the end?
2019-05-16 19:01
Only thing i remember was sewer surfing levels, game was very easy and beatable in 1 1/2 hours I think

No, it's not that one. I'm talking about the best NES Turtles with a decent soundtrack and actually a long play.

Never played NES, only played on the N64 once when I was really young, I only played the GameCube over a friends house (usually Smash). I was a PS2 kid.

Well Super Mario 3 and Megaman 3 are what i probably liked the most. Didn't have a NES myself, but got the SNES when Donkey Kong Country came out, and that has to be the best Nintendo game ever if u ask me :()

Definitely Legend of Zelda. I didn't get to play too many games on the NES we had before I got better consoles, mainly the N64, but LoZ was by far and away the best game on that console, and one of the best of my childhood. My dad got me hooked on it and from there I have played almost every Zelda game there is
