Fnatic era was based on high skill individual , once structured teams like current MiBR and Astralis arrived , fnatic are t2 at best. Anyone who says 2015 is the most competitive is fnatic fanboi

There's the astralis fan boi. No you're wrong. EVERY SINGLE team in 2015 wanted to win. But now. Not every team can be bothered. Stop being so delusional and go to your primary school all ready

Every single team want to win now as well BUT they can't because the competition is MUCH BIGGER NOW. Also the individual skill is MUCH HIGHER now. In 2013 bots like Bcko or whatever his name is (some hltv dude) used to play with pros , now he can only dream about it. Relevant teams in 2015 : TSM , Fnatic, NIP , EnVy , VP Yay , huge competition. Now teams like complexity upset MiBR in bo3.

Idk why im argueing with a ASSTRALIS fan. 1. The only reason you're saying 2018 is the most competitive is because you are a astralis fan. 2. Someone from the top 15 in 2015 could win the major. 3. You're as delusional as a parrot

2017-2019 Astralis won 3 majors 2013-2015 fnatic won 3 majors 2019 individual skill > 2015 2019 tactics > 2015 Fnatic were relying on dead scene with 2-3 inconsistent teams , also fnatic was firepower based team , in 2018 FaZe proved once again that firepower based teams can't last long nor achieve anything significant. Fnatic are trash atm not because of -olof/-flusha but because they're still relying on firepower , 0 teamplay and braindead 2013 tactics from Xizt. Their individual level is not high enough to carry their IGL that struggles a lot with fraggin , unlike FaZe , they can compensate for Neo.

I agree 2017 was a competitive year because anyone could win anything, But 2018 WASNT. I dont need to explain anything apart from you being a biased astralis fan, and whats the bet you were a fan of SK when they had there era and then moved over to astralis when they started dominating.
2019-06-11 05:37
16 replies
Nah im Astralis fan since Dignitas / TSM / Questionmark times. I like their core (double D and Xyp) , their playstyle and i like them overall as a personalities. If i am biased Astralis fan , so are you biased fnatic fan? MiBR and NiP "eras" were more attractive than Fnatic. MiBR used to play one of the most entertaining/beautiful CS - smart , aggressive , tactical. I agree that Astralis could be a bit boring team for some people , but u can't deny that they're on whole another level (or at least they were as lately they've been underperforming).

I don't like fnatic at all 🤣🤣🤣, but jesus christ man stop saying 2018 is the most competitive. It's litteraly embarrassing yourself. But I agree NiP and SK era was more fun to watch, because as I said it was anyone's game to win.

You're clearly delusional if you think Fnatic era is the best one or "the most competitive" as we can see how much NiP and Fnatic worth now. Once all the players improved , swedes suddenly fell.

so are you expecting veterans (who played for straight up ~10 years) to improve all the long? Try to name me one that is still known as a "star player". All of them have been one at some point, but now none (for example GTR, f0rest, Edward and even Zeus)

yeah and how old were they, like 15 or smth? Look they still have a big future ahead and I think we can agree that young players have better reflexes than older ones. For example, Zeus was 24, edward 21, GTR 22, f0rest 24 when they reached their peek in 1.6 (2010) but now? we can agree they are hot garbage except maybe for f0rest
2019-06-12 22:12

"Relevant teams in 2015 : TSM , Fnatic, NIP , EnVy , VP" We're forgetting G2, Titan, NaVi, LG, Dignitas towards the end, and finally tank top c9 All of those teams listed above could have won an event in 2015 that's how good they all were. In 2018 the teams that could win/compete closely for titles: Astralis (won like all of them), Liquid, NaVi, mousesports at the start, and FaZe who had niko as igl and stand ins 75% of the year. That is only like 5 teams that can win and event compared to 11 teams that could compete for a title. INxNITY and I aren't saying that the individuals were better back then, we're just saying that there was better competition was better at the time. It is laughable and senseless to think that it is more competitive than 2015.
2019-06-16 08:37

"Astralis , TL , NaVi " Ehm , vitality won 2 titles already. Your bs is irrelevant as in 2018/19 literally everyone can win. Furia came out of nowhere and demolished Astralis twice in a single event. We have ENCE , NRG , Fnatic , North , MiBR. There are much more teams that compete and can easily upset. If you go back , you'll see that 2015 was basically the same as 2018/19. 1 team dominates (fnatic 2015 / Astralis '18/'19) , the other teams are solid and can upset anytime.

Yes 2019 so far may be the most competitive year or parallel to 2015 but you shifted your argument from 2018 to 2018/19 to try and support your point because you have no good examples from 2018 other than (maybe) the first 2/3 months with like 3 big events and when astralis had just formed and it was up in the air. Other than that it was navi astralis or liquid astralis finals (mostly) and liquid and navi weren’t even that good and could easily faulter to t2 teams sometimes. Clearly as a whole 2018 wasn’t the most competitive year with the Brazilians, the poles, the French teams all falling
2019-06-17 00:22
Stop changing what you were arguing. You clearly stated above that you were specifially talking about 2018. You have to stick to that same topic you can't just change it to 2018 and 2019.

Many teams (in the beginning of the year) were competing for the top. And while scenes were falling others were somewhat rising. Like the danish scene, na scene and maybe a bit of the CIS scene.
2019-06-08 23:03
16 replies
CIS scene was totally irrelevant besides qbf at the major. C9 disbanded right after major and Liquid choked 9 finals. So yeah, 1 scene being good, with North being a below average team(that turned into a meme last part of the year) and only astralis as a real tourneament contender. I think we don’t share the same meaning of the word “competitive”, mate.

Nostalgics will say 2015 / earlier, Brazilians will say 2016, but I think 2017 and 2018 go hand in hand as the most competitive year in csgo history There is one thing we can ALL agree on tho, the 2019 CSGO circuit has been a pathetic shit show untill now as we barely have ANY events at all where even 8 out of 10 top10 teams attend, fuck BLAST, fuck em hard, valve should intervene fast and hard, kill it while they still can

astralis (#1 team at the time) only attended blast events while skipping every other big event they lost their era and #1 spot because of it and now its a big meme
2019-06-08 23:07
BLAST made contracts with teams saying they HAVE to attend at least 5 out of 7 events, and then proceeded to plan these events literally right at the same time as REAL TIER1 events, so now all these top teams are constantly skipping all the biggest events to play shitty bo1 tournament blast that is not competitive at all and just for "fun". Because of this the meaning of a tier1 event is completely fucked as there is always at least 2 top5 teams skipping them and that makes it so that basically the Major is the ONLY event in the year where all good teams play, which is really sad and is destroying the CS scene
2019-06-08 23:07

#a fact to remember: it was players' choice to sign these EXCLUSIVITY contracts I really liked Blast when they started and I was hoping they'd stay casual and run a few events per year without all the exclusivity drama

Yes but that is because these players are dumb kids that see dollar signs, it's not good for the cs world, for the fans and for the competitiveness of the scene
2019-06-08 23:46

+1 Its not cool as an event , bo1 is boring imo and proves nothing but who have better day Its not cool for the players as well Its not cool that they force teams to attend 80% of them and skip pretty much everything else. As we have 1-2 good tournaments a month , teams have to prepare for each of them. Meanwhile Astralis attend 1 per month at best and that's Blast series most of the time.
2019-06-10 22:38

Man it is not a stereotype. You Brazilians, I dont want to say all but the majority, have low IQ. As a result you are like sheeps, completely unreasonable. Someone says sth good once you respect him. Someone criticizes you about th you all attack him. So easy to bait.

We're pointing out different stuff to speak the same thing. You consider era a team being overly dominant through events (like Astralis and Fnatic). What I consider to be a era is being the most winning team keeping the top 1 (what LG/SK did 2016-2017). You can argue the fact that the top1 streak wasn't continuous and had a leap after FNX leaves. So, LG/SK had a era edit: btw it was copy pasta :P

I liked 2014 personally, I wouldn't call it the best, but it was my favorite. Two good NA teams (well, better than what came before) in iBP and coL/C9. In early 2015, iBP kind of fell apart, as you probably know, and hiko left C9, he was my favorite player... I know 2015 was competitive, but I didn't watch much CS after 2014 until late 2016 when I came to HLTV. I watched Majors, but pretty much nothing else.

Why was 2018 bad? It gave us the best player in the history of csgo, best team in the history of csgo. Even if you think 2018 was all Astralis, Faze and other teams were winning the tournaments in early 2018. We had a good Boston major. The game went a lot of changes. 2018 has to be the best.

2019-06-10 23:59
2017, I do think 2016 was the best year for majors tho. in 2017 people from every region had a team to root for whether they were from NA/BR/EU. The Faze/SK rivalry was really good, the events were usually stacked with top teams, VP was actually good. It feels like 2018 and especially 2019 are shittier in comparison. The majors and T1 events feel so much worse compared to what they used to be. Also skin betting was still a thing, way more fun that money/bitcoin betting
2019-06-12 01:31
2018 not really Astralis won almost every event they played in how is that competitive? 2018 had a shit ton of events but there was nothing competitive about it. 2015 was the most competitive year in terms of tier 1 teams.

I started to watch csgo pro scene in 2017 so, as many of you are saying that the best year is 2015, i cant give my opinion about that but, as I said, i started watching in 2017 and, since then, it looks to me that 2019 so far has been the best year, why? Well, last year astralis dominated and 2017 you would see SK vs Faze almost the entire year but, at the beggining of 2019, the main question was: is astralis, potencially the best team in csgo ever, going to be the top 1 or other team will take that spot? Which team? Navi, Liquid, new mibr, ence? And now we witnessed, like somekind of plot twist, astralis themselves fucked their era, liquid seems to be rising but we still have ence and vitality, as we can see in the past few tournaments they still can win, and I didn't even started to talk about Navi, faze and mibr, those who used to be top teams but rw are going through some problems. Bottomline, as we've seen the last tournaments, the question in my mind is: who the fuck is going to win the next big title? I mean, we don't have the same feeling like 2018 that astralis is gonna win or the 2017 that faze/sk will win or, if they don't, it's because somekind of upset; right now is open season
2019-06-12 03:07
I think this year is gonna be the best

Damn, I miss 2015 so much. Good times, when almost every tournament was competitive and had a very unique atmosphere. All three majors were insane (even Cluj-Napoca had some crazy games) and so many teams were at their best. Kenny vs Guardian, EnVyUs vs fnatic, olof vs everyone - greatest rivalries of CS:GO. Also there was great story of Cloud9's summer and Luminosity's grind to top in the end of the year. And overall there were at least 5 teams that were capable of winning every event (fnatic, Envyus, Na`Vi, TSM and VP). So sad that now its just boring BLAST all over again and teams skipping important events left and right. CS:GO just lost special atmosphere of something big and meaningful, and its really sad
