5k lira = $900 It is enough to make 1 week holiday in Turkey. You should visit, we have lots of nice places. But our girls are tough, hard to convince for making some dirty things.

if you are handsome or have some muscles, its easy to handle a girl in here.

Turkey is really beautiful, nice food as well. However I would never visit it again due to the political situation with Erdogan and all the refugees

Erdogan might not be the best leader but why wouldnt u visit turkey again? Its not like hes gonna kill you
2019-06-12 14:14
maybe not kill but get imprisoned? not that unlikely

He also fucked up all the turkey’s economy. A dolar was 2-3 tl before he become president now its almost 6.

Yeah I guess I just looked at $1250 a month and thought for a Software developer he shouldn't feel so poor. Probably only needs to spend half of it to live in Turkey whereas London that would be a struggle!! Not on $3K tho so yeah maybe not much difference :)
2019-06-14 00:42
$3K is low end for that. Like for someone straight from school with average skills.
2019-06-13 23:53
i googled it as I have no idea about IT... it's the average value :)
2019-06-14 00:43
Ouch. I am surprised. Average here is around $5.9K Now I know my English colleague is not with us for just the pastry. I've got a friend that works in the UK as a senior Engineer. Not sure of his exact salary, but last year he got £10K as a bonus and that was normal so I thought IT would be paying more than $3K.
2019-06-14 00:57
Bonus' are not included in the salary :) it may very well be that people are getting £10K each year in bonus, I wouldn't know as I don't work in IT.

i have no idea who you are and what you do for work, fact is you said "and they sweden is good to live" implying germany is generally is better which is false. i doubt if i google germany electrican salary i will get a figure thats close to 4k $ after taxes :)
2019-06-12 18:29

if you try to make the case that the living standard of germany generally is higher than sweden (which you implied, wether you admit it or not) then yes you probably should care. if you don't care and just enjoy your salary i don't see the reason to make that case.

2019-06-13 15:39
Yea sounds like fun
2019-06-13 20:01
if you think living in a country with a high gdp means you will have a better life you are living in your own bubble.. the joy I saw on peoples faces visiting Sri Lanka put all of Europe to shame.
2019-06-14 14:44
Sure, thats because their lives overall is so shit that every little thing makes them happy. But dont try to say that you would be happier if youd live in Sri Lanka. And btw overall gdp has a proven clear correlation with happiness.
2019-06-15 14:26

2019-06-14 18:13
Germany is generally better, no doubt about it. Stats are bunch of inaccurate numbers. Example: Your president earns 10.000e and 5 workers have 300e each you can say that average wage there is 1.900e while on the other hand our president can have 4000e and 5 other workers earn 1500e each which is same on 6 people, but in all 1 is living great and 5 shit, while on other example all 6 live ok, only 1 a bit better. I hope you get my point.

germany has a higher GINI index and combine that with the gdp difference and you got your answer. saying germany generally is better to live in is just objectively false. then again it doesn't really matter

It is really not a prettier country. If anything it is rather ugly, even though it has some really nice spots but on average Sweden is definitely the prettier country. Weather in Germany is better in the summer for sure but the in the winter it is not. But I like Germany a lot and I’ve spent more than a month in Germany every year the past ten years, usually a month in the summer and two weeks around Christmas, so I’ve seen quite a lot of the country.
2019-06-13 08:49
Just because you earn double means every swedish or german earns less/more????? Just depends a lot where you work as well, generous boss etc... Ppl bringing up gdp per capita or saying other country good life reflecting their own salary like wtf?

I think utilities in Russia are cheaper than in USA and Europe but they are of lower quality. I spend for it about 45-50$ per month. So, food quality in Russia > in USA as far as i know. I spend for it about 55$ per month. I think you understand that I don't go to restaurants and so on. P.S sry for bad english again, google translater has been helping me.

can u even afford to rent an appartment for that money?
2019-06-12 17:43
My parents saved me a flat many years ago, but you can rent an apartment for about $ 100 a month. It will be about 20 m^2.
2019-06-12 20:16
20 m^2? holy shit
2019-06-12 21:18
If u are single and don't have kids, it is pretty normal.
2019-06-13 09:23
serious? here its normal to have like 60-70 if single and no kids I would say
2019-06-13 21:27
60 m^2 in London would cost like £1500... Generally couples would only spend that much over here. But I know rent in Germany is much cheaper. Most my friends under 30 house share with friends.
2019-06-14 14:55
yeah sure, depends also a lot if you live in a big city or not. if you go for munich or berlin it would cost a lot to have space like that.
2019-06-14 19:41
I was to become a teacher in Poland, but when I learned that teacher gets only 470$ (minimum wage in Poland is 413$) I dropped this career immediately
2019-06-12 18:57
What the fuck? I've been to Warsaw, and I noticed that things are a little cheaper over there than in Israel, but definitely not cheap enough to get by on 500$ a month. Do teachers in Poland live rent-free in schools or something?

Situation of the teachers is really difficult rn. Every school is public and their pay is preestablished. You have 4 levels of teachers career 1st level last for 9months and you get 470$ 2nd level last for 2years 9months you get 495$ 3rd lvl last for 2years 9months you get 561$ 4rd final level you get enormous salary 656$ You have to work for 8-10 years to achieve salary of 656$. So most of the teachers are reliant on their husband/wife or they work in 2 schools making overtime. Teachers are pissed of now and on the 8th of April they started a strike that lasted a month. Can you imagine it 80+% of schools were not working!! But they stopped cause the government doesnt give a fuck about teachers and educating the young. There was a funny thing when prime minister said that he would like to help teachers but there is no money in the budget now and few they later he announced enormous social help programme that everyone who Has a child gets 500pln monthly. Tldr Poland doesnt want to be educated

-1 and I'm not into right wing and PiS. I will point out few things in your sentence: 1) Yea, 1 month strike but there were plenty of free days, So it was equal to 5-7 days of work. 2) Teachers complain about salary but keep working. Maybe we've got too many of them right nów and their job is meaningless? 3) Most of teachers like to give "todos" for parents when they don't complete topic in school hours. I wouldn't complain if it happend rarely, but it's happening everyday. 4) Teachers are one of many brainwashed groups in Poland. Another ones are miners, jobless mothers, taxi drivers. I really hate them. First of all improve your skills, then improve quality of job you do, and then complain. 5) All of above are bad, but worse is our government, uneducated people everywhere, and no future for intelectualists here. Everyone thinks how to get money for free - jobless, government, low tier workers, mid tier workers and these people are likely to move abroad to be trashy toilet cleaners in UK or weed smokers on strawberries plantations in Netherlands. GG mens
2019-06-15 13:09
That's really fucked. Sharing expenses or having a second job makes a bit more sense, but still, it's crazy that as a teacher, which I guess requires training and a degree, you don't earn enough to pay rent.
2019-06-15 22:50
Idk how i can make UPD for my post, but i live in Nizhniy Tagil. Population: 358,651. It's an industrial city. Perhaps therefore teacher's and medic's salary << Factory worker's salary (about 350-450$ per month) But u must work 8-10 hours per day/5-6 day per week (If u work in Saturday or at night ur salary will be higher.
2019-06-12 20:24
yo dude is that 10k rub? how could that be possible? 10k wouldn't even cover your food costs
2019-06-13 11:46
If you dont eat in restaraunts it cover easy. So, u always must buy cheap meal in the malls (Pyatyorochka, Magnit, Monetka, Verniy in Russia).
2019-06-13 12:01
Idk I don't have these shops in my town. Idk, maybe it's real cheap in west russia, I buy shit from cheapest grocery stores and it costs me like 15k a month. And I don't even go out, because I live and work in another city and I don't know anyone here. Otherwise, I wouldn't even get by.
2019-06-13 12:13
What is you town? If u live in Kamchatka or Vladivostok your meal is really expensive as fuck.

Just move to another country if you can. 150$ for a teacher is terrible. In Norway like you would probably get around 3500$ as a teacher and that's if you are new at your job. Yeah expenses are way higher but all in all, you would still have like 1000$ in your pocket after everything. With your salary and expenses, I'm guessing you have like 50$?
2019-06-14 12:43
I heard that Norway government don't need people, who don't know Norwegian language. Is it true? Yeah, 40-55$
2019-06-14 17:37
Well, without Norwegian you are nothing. But I think it's pretty easy to learn especially if you know English. It's not that hard of a language and the pronunciation is pretty simple, unlike Danish. There are many Russians and Polish people in Norway, and tbh I would rather have them, than Syrians and other people from the Middle East.
2019-06-14 17:52
Also with the language thing, I think that's for pretty much every Northern European country. If you don't speak the main language you can't get a job really. Unless you are software engineer/programmer then I think you can get a well paid job with only speaking English.

2019-06-14 22:36
Im sorry but, where the hell do you have these numbers from?? 45% is the smallest amount you can pay in taxes in Denmark? Thats a lie? And what do you mean with the additional tax (15%) If you make more than 498.000kr a year? And many citizens pay 60% of their salaries in taxes, like lmfao? Do you even have a job in Denmark?
2019-06-12 21:14
Remember the deductions. Those % of yours are only after they are handled. And the 60% is only of those money you make above the ceiling, so for most that is not really something that comes into effect much if at all. In reality I think most here pay more like 35% of what they earn in taxes, with those with lower income paying a lower percentage.

Have a well paid benefit plan, pensions and paid goods, which are all to be taken into account when calculating your monthly salary before taxes. Without the benefit, pension and similar my monthly salary is about $1000 less than stated above. I am even what you would call unskilled labour, since I have no formal education within my field of work. I work about 37-39 hours a week. With tax deductions I pay about 40% in tax.

I worked for a French IT company some years back. Mostly I worked from home here in DK and when visiting the office in France it was like visiting a sweat shop, really cramped offices, bosses that was psychos, total hierarchy management... and the pay was like half of mine. Crazy. The only good thing was the system with food tickets for lunch, but I really found it shocking otherwise. Maybe you should look into relocating - easy with EU and there are lots of jobs here atm.

While its ok just to speak english, I'd definitely reccomend to learn a local language (depends in which region you want to settle) if you want to work for a smaller company and its also beneficial for socializing. However, if you want to work for big firms, like Microsoft or Goolge, you should theoretically be fine. I can't really tell you anything about how difficult it is to get a job here as a foreigener, because I never went through that process. However, while I dont think it's easy, it definitely isnt impossible. (About 25% of all people living in switzerland are foreigeners). You have to be good at what you do though.

It's about fucking time we create the United States of Europe. Some will complain about leftist reallocation agendas, which is not the case in my opinion, since all Europeans would benefit from farther reaching cooperation. It seems unreal how we are the strongest economic space in the world and yet can't dictate the international markets, nor get everyone a decent salary for honest work all across Europe due to indecisiveness and nationalist scrubs.

Idk, stress doesn't really phase me cause it's such an integral part of the job. It's more the 12-16 years of schooling to get through that's the hard but I've only got another 4 to go <3
2019-06-12 12:45
Wait, since how old were you a training surgeon?
2019-06-12 12:47
Started med school at 21, I've done 6y medical degree and 2y junior doctor and my first year of a 5 years surgical fellowship (started at 29).

Sounds like a tiring and long journey but if you earn that much and you love what your doing I guess it doesn't matter. All the best!
2019-06-12 12:52
It's such a rewarding profession so the journey is worth it. That's just a generic NZ MD wage man, in the states you'd make 4-5x that. Once you finish your fellowship you start making that murican money though ;)

it always depends on your lifestyle but yeah its enough. I dont spend that much so, mostly things like traveling, vacations, experiences rather than material stuff. Keep in mind those are junior/trainee figures and I didnt have any programming experience (apart from uni) when I took this job. You can earn much more if you're decent at programming and showcase experience.

damm! nice for u dude. salaries are so high in Denmark. how about cost of living?
2019-06-12 14:10
Very high as well in the larger cities. Housing in Copenhagen is easily around $2.000 a month for an appartment (middle sized). In smaller cities it is around half that price.
2019-06-12 15:18
2k$rent you could live entire month in poland for this living like king lul
2019-06-12 19:12
Salaries are higher then average in Denmark - But cost of living in Denmark are very high. 1 L of milk is close to 2 $. I'm earning Top-bracket Tax in Denmark, which means I'm paying around 52% in taxes of my salary.
2019-06-13 07:46
wtf men 1 L of milk is actually 2$ here in russia :(
2019-06-13 11:58
Thought Denmark was an expensive country. Is cost of living high in Russia?
2019-06-13 14:33
Idk, it probably depends on a place you live, west and south Russia should be pretty cheap, but I've never been there, so can't tell for sure. My costs are: rent of shitty 30sqm flat 500$ (30k rub), utility costs 90$ (5k rub), food 250-300$ (~15k rub). Given that right now I live and work in a shitty 200k town. My salary is 1,5k$ (~90k rub). Costs are not nearly as high as DK, but high as hell for our salaries.
2019-06-13 22:41
How about taxes of your salary? Denmark is expensive, high taxes, but we also get free education, only work 37 hours pr. week, free healthcare, 5 weeks of paid vacation each year and we are paid to study. Danes can't complain :-)
2019-06-14 12:35
We pay shitload of taxes, compared to what we get in return. Employers pay taxes for you, so I don't even know what my salary before tax is. The income tax is only 13% and AVT is 20%, but we also pay a shitload of small taxes that are already included in prices, when buying products. We get a "free" healthcare (if you want to get a proper medication, you get that for money) and a semi-free education back. The rest is for Putin and his friends, which they spend on bombing Syria and buying friendship of some poverty ridden corrupt shitholes, by giving them money for free. Russians can complain :E

:) Don't be jealous my little friend ,and if that makes u even happier , im about to start my own company within the next year. See, the difference between us is that i know how to survive in hard times as i come from poor socialist country , so for me any obstacles are something normal and easy to deal with . U come from comfortable place to live and it's nothing wrong with it, however i know for sure , that u would give up 100x already if u would have to go throught same obstacles. I have winner mentality and very soon people like you will work for me. Enjoy the rest of the day with that knowledge my little friend. PS. I like to keep my home clear , so yes i clean my toilet and i don't see anything wrong if people do it profesionally cuz there's no shame in any hard work. All richness come from hard work. One day , when u grow up , u will MAYBE understand.

I obviously can't give the name (there's generally only 1 head of cybersecurity in a company lol, I don't want my name pinpointed to this account on HLTV) but I can tell it's a Software Development and Consulting company. And, btw, damn I kinda understand why richer people try to avoid paying taxes, It freaking hurts to see a large part of your hard-earned money going in politicians' pockets.

Egypt True_
at least in France they don't yoink that shit in their pockets and have no repercussions. Here in Egypt Mubarak still has his 50 billion or however much he still has after he got pushed out of presidency
2019-06-12 14:09
If you knew how much money was diverted by politicians in the past years here and how much money is literally given "for free" to foreign companies while they fire people... I'm not saying the situation is a disaster, because France is still a very rich country and I have a thought for many African countries, which France colonized to steal resources and money, and that many of these countries have a rich president that diverts a lot of money from the industry to their pockets. But it's still regretable to see such a waste of money, but, most importantly, the waste of lives, in France and in many other places in the world.
2019-06-12 14:28
It's not going into politicians pocket. It's going to you via hospitals, police, schools, roads, etc. You are were you are partly thanks to that, especially if you are born poor. I understand that seeing half your income going to taxes is harsh but that means that you're earning a lot, wich is a good thing. You should also be proud that your money is saving lives and allowing poor people to get a proper free education and elevating themselves in society when in some societies it's extremely hard. Thanks to you on behalf of these people. ps : and yes, it's always frustrating to see our money stolen by some politicians, but i's such a tiny tiny tiny percentage of it that it shouldnt make you overlook what benefits our system can have.

I only play online, i've never been to a casino in my life, which is kinda ironic for a poker player, but probably about time i try that. I used to play pretty much only on pokerstars, but since they keep making crap changes I now play on different sites - mostly Nordicbet atm.

Just curious: How much do you spend on your house and bills?
2019-06-12 15:05
maybe in some time i could have a work for you if you got european nationality aswell, not a place tho i believe. basic french is necessary aswell. for my bills, quite a lot to be honest... rent 1.7k, supermarket 170/week, internet/cellphone 110/month, health insurance 390/month(its obligatory to have it here). thats basically it i believe, then you have to reduce your taxes aswell, the more money you do the more you pay, when i hit 7k i have to pay more or less 1k of taxes. i live with my swiss girlfriend, so aside my health insurance and taxes, everything is divided by 2.

2019-06-12 16:06
24 besides an european nationality you need a permi to live here legally after 3 months as a tourist. for most of the people that means you will need to find a work which your employer is willing to make a contract of work, for inderteminated time and paying at least the minimum average of the place you are.

Serbia is actually not a poor country. But people who lead it don't care about people all they care about is to make/steal as much as they can. It's truly sad
2019-06-12 19:58
5900 USD per capita, Serbia is really fricking poor.
2019-06-12 21:16
Well yes, you can't afford shit with 400$ here either but you need to survive right? I pay around 150$ bills and I spend around 200$ on food and I have 50$ left. Now imagine if I had kids/wife they would probably die cuz I didn't have money to afford shit for them.
2019-06-12 20:01

2019-06-12 19:59
I was in Belgrade last month. You guys have a phenomenally beautiful country - I hope all goes well!
2019-06-12 19:33
We have a beautiful country and a very rich country. But the problem is everyone who leads this country is trying to steal as much as they can they don't care about people or anything else.
2019-06-12 19:57
Yeah, I hear bits and bobs. My best friend just married a Serb and she has given us an overview of everything that's going on. Depressing, really.
2019-06-12 20:04
It's really sad and depressing I need to agree with you on that one. But also the problem that we have is we really love our country and or land and it's very hard for us to leave for better but in like 50 years I'm pretty sure there will be more Chinese people in Serbia then Serbs.
2019-06-12 20:07
Haha yes I think I see that! My girlfriend is Chinese - I understand that the Chinese use Serbia as a gateway to Europe because you guys are close geographically but are not bound by the EU's laws. It's good for you - most countries would be envious of this flow of foreign investment. I was also in neighbouring Montenegro a few weeks ago and that place is absolutely phenomenal. You can really see what the BRI is doing for the country.

Don't you often work over 60h/week
2019-06-12 19:00
Not so much these days - only if I do consulting. I used to work in a law firm, where I would frequently start at 10am and leave at 2am. Those days are now, thank fuck, long gone. I now work for a start-up and it's phenomenal. I work from home and whenever I feel like. I am still bashing out on average 8-10 hours per day but the schedule is flexible. Today I worked for a few hours in the morning, had a shag, took a nap, played some Diablo 3, went grocery shopping with my girlfriend and then went to the office. I will probably be here for a few more hours before I head back home. I also travel, on the company's expense, around once per month. I really cannot complain - to me, this is what working should be like.
2019-06-12 19:29
Fair enough

I barely play cs nowadays, but I have been playing since the beta, and used to be a semi pro back in the days. I rather spend some time here on hltv, checking some matches (results and stats), than spending time watching football.

Well, it's kind of hard to answer, but a finance manager works with all different kinds of economy work. Some normal work tasks are: accounting and budgeting, administrative tasks, economic analysis, and business strategies, marketing, and personnel administration. So it's a lot of work on the computer. I hope that answered your question.
2019-06-12 20:15
OK I understand. Thanks for answering.

I actually realize that I calculated the After-tax wrong since I'm really tired, but I didn't think it was such a big deal.
2019-06-12 21:09
Surprised a finance manager doesn't know his gross and net salary by heart. :).

Do you use any platform (freelancer.com)? How many hours a day you work? For how long have you been freelancing?
2019-06-12 20:05
Upwork Like 3-4hrs Only 1 year, i was frustrated working in office so then I've quit that shit and started working at home. And im happy about that cuz it was a real waste of my personal time.
2019-06-12 23:41
Very good. You must be a happy developer. I, after something like 6+ years managed to get a job with flexible hours. That prevented me from quitting the field altogether. I tried some jobs on freelancer but it's too slow to make a respectable profile and get a constant flow of incoming jobs. I might give upwork a go.

2019-06-12 19:08
It's allowed when 13. But only crappy jobs like 80$ a month when 13 We are only allowed to work 2hr a day because we are so young. But my boss say I can work how much I want and he will pay. But legally then it would be way less.
