(200iq+) HUGE major idea
 |
Canada Abolition
Valve should do an event every 3 years that has a huge prize pool ($5-10M+), 3 sets of swiss system, 16+ qualifier slots (have it so there's the minors which get you into the qualifier which gets you into the actual major [the current challengers stage] which then gets you into the current legends stage which gets you into the champions stage). have it like a month-long event with full BO3 swiss systems, challenger stage gives extra special stickers, legends stage+ gives each team it's own skin, BO7 final (although that'll take a while), BO5 semi-finals. The idea in the BO7 final is that the two teams have to play every map so it'll make for some very intense CS Have the community very involved in it, have us vote on the location & who hosts it. Have an upgraded viewer pass etc. Have more fun stuff involved in it (invite a whole bunch of streamers & personalities like Pasha, fl0m, warowl, shroud, jasonr, ska, summit, maybe even drdisrespect to coach shroud's team like he was going to do if they made it to the NA minor at Katowice 2019 etc) to do a showmatch like thing but with a whole bracket & a whole bunch of teams (and give the top 4 stickers, imagine how much people would get a drdisrespect sticker), also a showmatch type thing but with old rosters (like putting together the old c9 or even better, the iBUYPOWER team that was banned, the old Na'Vi, old Fnatic, old VP etc) to do a blast from the past bracket (8 old rosters that the community votes on) Personally I think a major like this would be absolutely nuts, millions of people would tune in, millions will love it. What do you guys think?

well at least 1.5m+ different people tune into majors, not at the same time, I'm thinking at least 2m different people will tune in

I bet you made this whole thing up just so you would have a reason to invite dr disrespect. Doesn't matter tho ithink this would be the bomb, but they should add babam

no personally I'm not a big fan of doc, I don't watch him nor do I care about him but people outside the CS community watch him so it'd bring extra attention to the event, thinking about it now I think summit would've been a better example of people buying the stickers since he was actually in the scene at one point

The doc does have a big viewer base right? And I know for a fact that he plays csgo since I saw some vids of him a time ago. But I don't think making it a streamer fest would be a good thing, so mb invite just a couple of relevant ones like you said in your initial post. I would personally go for retired 1.6 & source players vs current players showmatches or old vs new lineups, mb even some pugs or 1v1s where ppl from the crowd play in mix teams with the casters, old players and current players. You could even have a danger zone tourney on the side since it's part of the game.

Babam will reject this offer because he has a work. Only if major will be in Dubai, Babam will accept this.

The Acer predator event was so heartbreaking to watch unfortunately, but I guess he found out who his true friends where. I enjoyed him so much in 1.6 and when I found out he did csgo I just had to tune in from time to time

yea Valve wouldn't support the game by making something as expensive as this, sucks but this's the dev we're stuck with

yea that would be one of the things that needs to be ironed out, I feel like it wouldn't be as grand if it was just another yearly event, maybe 2 years would work better. Also, mandatory Device, Xyp9x & Dupreeh would like to know your location

TL:DR: Once every 2-3 years, bo5 or bo7 final, lots of fun showmatches with streamers, old lineups, banned lineups (iBP lineup), team skins, huge prizepool
2019-06-16 18:24
Dude Valve can't even fix match making, you seriously expect them to pull off something like this?

IMO 10 tournaments of 1m$ better than a big event of 10m$ even if it’s on a month straight

yearly is too much, it won't be that special if it's just another yearly event, it needs to be something grand that only comes around once every 2-3 years ish, 2 would probably best if it changes so only teams that reach top 8 get their own skins, maybe even top 4
2019-06-16 02:11
There would be an international system similar to dota if csgo didnt have such a big cheating problems i think.

And when the majors in cs are being played , cs is on 1st place on twitch ,while Dota is somewhere on the bottom , therefore yes , VERI dead game.

2-3 years to make it special, not just another yearly event
2019-06-16 18:19
I agree , with only one major difference. Once a year , cuz who tf would wait 3 years for an event nowadays . 3 years is like an era today , too big gap to make people care about it. People would be interested maybe 1-2 months before and then they would forget it for another 2.5 years . Also from business side it's simply a waste of a time and potential earnings , therefore once a year is a way better idea.

once a year is a crap idea, 2 years at the most, it needs to be something special rather than just another yearly event (of which we already have many)

Month* not millions at once, minimum 2m+ total I'm on the fence about the BO7 final, could just be a bo5
2019-06-16 18:23
I'd actually watch this. Especially the old/banned lineups bracket and the Major Final BO7. But once per year or two years seems better, with a smaller cashprize also.
