2.4x easier, but you need at least 144fps all the time, ideally 288fps to have 2 frames per each window
2019-06-20 14:03
damn. currently i have a 1070TI, im willing to bet i would need an upgrade there even if I had everything on low settings

no, a 1070 ti will do you good, youll get like 200++ fps on high 1080p wise
2019-06-20 14:14
i did a benchmark test and noticed my 1070ti was performing below the median, is there anything I can do to fix that?
2019-06-20 14:33
Could be that you have one of the cheaper models with worse cooling etc.
2019-06-20 14:35
wtfmen asus bad?!?!
2019-06-20 14:37
asus the worst bro STRIX is the shit
2019-06-20 14:47
it was actually MSI oops
2019-06-20 15:11
which one of them, msi has a few different models
2019-06-20 15:30
i dunno it’s red lol
2019-06-20 15:37
probably some gaming x model, which should be a quite good model. Should not be the issue
2019-06-20 15:41
lets say i get a constant 100-110 fps in some game using a 144hz monitor, or the fps jumps from like 80-120 at times. would that still be better than running plain old 60hz?
2019-06-20 16:11
2019-06-20 16:22
yeee that one
2019-06-20 16:41
Thats 100% enough to get more FPS. Whats your CPU and ram? Sometimes it can be the OS aswell, I recommend completely setting up a new windowsinstalaltion every 2-3 years. Just doing that takes way less time than completely cleaning up your system and you willnever get rid of everything anyways.
2019-06-20 17:00
i7 7700k (not oc because i dont fucks with that) and 8x2 ram on w10
2019-06-20 17:05
You are similar to my setup. 7600k 2x8GB DDR4 Crucial Ballistix Asus GTX 1060 6GB Expedition Im not actively playing cs anymore, but I can quickly load up mirage and check my FPS.
2019-06-20 17:06
That cant be right XD I have 400+ fps Oo Let me check some setting etc
2019-06-20 17:13
wtf i can barely see what in typing on mobile but yeah fps wise i mean bf4, csgo is a constant 300fps when im playing on 16:10 stretched
2019-06-20 17:20
ooohhhhh lol... I dont wanna install bf3 to compare. But I guess it wont go too high. cant help you with BF3 fps though, sorry.
2019-06-20 17:21
im getting 130-200 on bf4 1080p settings for highest visibility (all low)

Its a major difference. If you go from 144hz back to 60hz it feels like 20fps.

it will feel like you halved your reaction time. everything is insanely fast. huge advantage over 60hz.

Provided you get a stable 144 FPS, or at least very close to that, you'll notice smoother mouse movement, so it'll be easier to track people when spraying, or before firing the first shot (e.g. when sniping). It also improves your reaction time slightly, though that's not as noticeable, you can test this by changing your monitor to 60 Hz and comparing the results on HumanBenchmark.

It's bullshit i know people with 60hz playing fpl c , it's all depend if you have a good gamesense and good decision making
2019-06-20 16:13
well i have 3k elo + with 70 fps and 60 hz. Obviously u cam be good evem without but when u play against real players they will have huge advantage when they will peek u or at an aim duel.
2019-06-20 16:17
true real players knows how to take advantage of peeks but they don't know if you are playing with 60hz so you have to adjust your gameplay depend on the enemy

i feel like the skill ceiling is higher at higher hz you will not want to play some games that average 60 as a result but really worth it since a vg248qe is around 120$usd used

OKAY. So i got a 144hz monitor and i can tell a difference. But i swear to god when i watch streamers play csgo i can see it even more smooth on the stream than my own game I dont know whether this is because im not getting incredibly high fps or what but its really frustrating
2019-06-20 16:30
i think when you’re watching a video its always smoother than fps since you’re focusing way more when you play the actual game on single points of the screen (crosshair, minimap) i know exactly what you’re talking about but i know other people have a better explanation for it.
2019-06-20 16:43
Thats what I thought it was, and it probably is. I tried to be as zoned out as possible when playing a casual match just to see if it felt better but it didnt really. The only explanations i can think of is maybe my monitor connection (dvi-d) or fps
2019-06-20 16:48
>stream is 1080p60 >guys why doesnt it look like 144
2019-06-20 19:27
Literally the exact opposite of what I said you fucking dipshit
2019-06-22 01:10
It actually makes a huge difference. if you imagine a player crossing mid doors on dust 2. If you're playing at 60hz then you'll see that player for maybe 8 frames, with the first one maybe showing the player already quite exposed. With 144hz you'll see that player for about 19 frames, and you'll see him the instant he starts crossing, making the shot so much easier to hit. Thats kind of a weird example of where its good but I wanted an actual application of its advantages and thats the first thing I thought of. Very much worth the purchase if you can afford it.

Holy shit. When people said that the difference was "pretty noticeable" I was like "meh, probably a waste of money" Until I saw how fucking insane this shit is. 60hz feels like absolute shit now and I don't think I can ever go back. It's like playing a whole new game. If you're considering getting a 144hz, do it right now, you will not be upset.

Nowadays just get one if you can afford it and require an upgrade. They're dirt cheap. LTT even reccomends 144hz for people who just browse the web and use office. If you're a colophile its a different story... Sidenote: If your monitor is old you might be able to overclock it, I managed to run mine at 83hz for 2 years before upgrading to 144hz a week ago.

Well theoretically it should make your reaction time literally faster (by ~10ms or so). So I mean I guess you have an advantage, but I just think it's easier on the eyes.
