Are cuss words unethical?

Me and my friends were discussing about this. Now I do think it is unethical however some of my friends said it is not unethical. We made valid points. What do you guys think?

no because most of the time people just use it casually/informally and dont actually intend to actual definition of the word.
2019-06-25 06:06
But the definition always stays there, it’s a reason why people don’t use the n word.

well I mean thats different, the n word is a racial slur that is used to attack a certain group of people, unlike most cuss words where there is no directed target(other than the person who you are saying it to).
2019-06-25 06:10
if nword is a racial slur then bitch or cunt is a sexist slur
2019-06-25 09:19
Any word is a slur if you place malaise behind it. No word is unethical, within freedom of speech.
2019-06-25 09:32
yeah I know, I was disagreeing with the guy who said there is a difference between nword and some other insult based on an inherent characteristic (being black vs being a woman). Any word is ok in the right context.
2019-06-25 09:45
Yes they are haram
2019-06-25 06:08
Of course, but we need to use reasoning and facts. Not all people believe in Islam.

I curse all the time. Do not really care about it at all. Obv some things you have to be rather careful about saying, but yeah otherwise, who gives a fuck?
2019-06-25 06:12
Well, manners make a man.

With that said, it doesnt mean that I run around and throw cursewords in the face of strangers all day long. That is not the case.

thats not harsh, if your language and way of speaking is always reactive and spontaneous and filthy , then its probably because you like that. I dont judge it, many people prefer to be childish and thats great for them

I read an article a couple years back that said people who cuss more, are on average, more trustworthy to have as friends; or "reliable."
2019-06-25 06:25
Correlation does not equal causation.

stfu Steel ur banned remember
2019-06-25 09:18
There is no debate to this question at all. If you find cuss words to be offensive, or crass or w/e, then they are unethical. If you don't find them to offensive or crass or w/e, then they are not unethical.

Fuck no. It’s not really ethical/unethical. It’s appropriate/inappropriate. Depends on where you are and what you’re doing.

No, unless if they are used with "malicious intent" beyond a casual setting.
2019-06-25 07:05
I never really understood the concept of cursed words... like... why are some words treated with disrespect just because of their meaning ? It's just letters ffs grow up people.

Unlucky that language is such a powerful tool
2019-06-25 09:28
The door to heaven couldn't be any more open. Only the blasphemous cannot enter; as they despise peace and tranquility. I use foul language all the time with viscous intent. I have sleep trouble, so I use it to make myself feel better. My only rule is not to burn bridges. (No personal insults). I know what it feels like to be given up on, and wouldn't wish that on anyone. As mentioned, the door to heaven couldn't be anymore open. There is NO arbitrary limit. Pleasure yourself. Jesus just wants to see you smile.

2019-06-25 09:25
No, sometimes you need to tell people that they're behaving badly and cuss words can help with that
