Polish language

Is there any reason to learn this language? In transit industry Russian and English do fine. There are few cases when German would help out , but not that often. In east Europe this language was useful in 17th century but not anymore.

pretty sure there is no reason for that english, chinese and russian all you need, maybe swedish for scandinavian countries, but they all are good at english anyways

largest city, 6/10 biggest companies in scandinavia and the population of denmark and norway combined. add that to the fact that most norwegians speak pretty good swedish. don't fool yourself boy, we've always been and we'll always be the alphas of the nordics

yeah, the amount of speakers a language has is obviously a critical aspect of ranking its influence and usefulness. let me know when you've had your 17th birthday and we'll continue this then

Alphas of Nordic = irrelevant I mean even all of Nordic combined would be considered irrelevant in Europe tbh sorry :(
2019-06-25 09:55
yeah i didn't say we are a global power tho. but the nordics do have a combined higher gdp than russia for example, we form the most functioning political and social region on this earth, and that does definitely gain us some influence

meh, just as irrelevant as us tbh, none of us have anything to say on a global scale. I mean us Dutchies are the highest payer (per capita) to the EU and we don't even have anything to say over there. All we allowed to do is pay a shitton and shut up and let the ''big boys'' (Germany and France) do their work. I assume the same goes for Sweden
2019-06-25 10:12
yes, i'm not disagreeing with you. individually, we're as irrelevant as you can get on a global scale. nobody talks about sweden, netherlands or austria in that context. but together the germanic countries are the most successful peoples and have pretty major economic and political power, thus actually giving these local disputes at least some credential

We did the stockholm bloodbath and you call yourself alphas of the north :) Next time the ice freezes in Øresund try again min bror en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assault_on_Copenha..
2019-06-25 10:16
i love it when danes bring that up. because up to that point, you were actually the dominating power in the nordics. however that was the turning point, 1 year later we had our country back and never looked back, and ever since we've been the alpha dogs of these lands. sure, we had some fun times for 150 years give or take, but as soon as we had control of one side of ÖöÖöresund you became irrelevant and we turned our focus eastward. so thank you )))) because without stockholms blodbad you still would have been cucking us, instead we got ourselves an empire :))))

Denmark is probably the smartest country to ever exist. First we conquer england so they finally can unite under one banner instead of being a bunch of small cuck kingdoms. Then we fuck up sweden so you can unite and then some hundred years in the future we are close allies and good friend and have a place to send all the illegal immigrants. You cant deny that we are the best nationbuilder to ever exist
2019-06-25 14:38
dude, be realistic. Its like saying that Poland and Lithuania are powerful countries only because of Battle of Kircholm. Look at the present, not the past. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Kircholm

The past is the key to the present. But i agree with what you say though, people shouldnt be stuck in the past. Why should a german born in the 90's for example have to be sorry for what happened in ww2, they werent even alive back then
2019-06-25 14:37
Thats why im not judging German people. In fact i have many client in Germany and they are really kind. Of course, there are exceptions, but bad behavior does not have nationality, it's a matter of raising at home.

2019-06-25 11:34

2019-06-25 14:20
yeah, i didnt say "same" tho
2019-06-25 15:15
I know buddy, but You say that there is no big difference between russian and english native speakers :)
2019-06-25 15:27
i meant not as big as people think it is btw you are a bit wrong with russian native speakers nubmer, you only count russians, right? There are a lot of native speakers in other post soviet countries, like in belarussa, kazakhstan and ukraine (not long ago) russian is also native
2019-06-25 15:31
I think that statistic count countries were russian is primary language., any other countries are in Total. But of course im not denying that number of russian speakers is really huge.

Your language is an EU language.
2019-06-25 11:31
Lmao
2019-06-25 13:46
Depends on what you mean by EU, because the current EU isn't really EU and definitely won't be in 60 years. There are more real Germans in the United States than in Germany for example. Already about 30% of Germany are Turkish and that number (along with other arab/african ethnicity) will be over 50% by 2050. Non EU origin birthrates are triple indigenous birth rates. Then EU culture and people will no longer exist on that continent. You can repeat that story in other EU countries as well. Germany will be Turkey France will become Morocco/Africa Belgium isn't a real country but same as France Netherlands same as France UK will become Pakistani/Indian Sweden will be a mix of Serbia/Africa/Middle East Hence, Arabic will be the most useful language for someone born in the EU.

2019-06-25 15:50
Won't say it's completely useless, but comparing how hard it is to even know the basics compared to potential benefits - not worth learning.

Actually I already understand like 30% only from knowing Russian and Lithuanian. Just can't talk since I never studied.
2019-06-25 10:33
It's common with most eastern european countries - we can understand each other really good but speaking this particular language or writing in it is hard as fuck, to the point that most native speakers don't understand it sometimes. Differences between our languages are often subtle on the first look but in reality - quite complicated.

I've learned Polish to the conversational level by talking with my polish friends in cs and by Duolingo. You can also watch some Polish youtubers. Surprisingly, there a lot of them. If you already know Russian then this would be much easier for you to learn Polish because there are words with Slavic roots and etc.

No reason to learn Polish just like 90% of other languanges, because in 99% most cases English, Russian, German will do
