Giannis MVP
 |
Belgium KevinGatesYo
Why harden fans so mad at it? Giannis was clearly the MVP of this regular season “But Harden had 35+ ppg” So what? He sucks defensively and got 30+ shots every damn game

Cus that was regular season and not play offs. Kawhi is the best defensive player, but clearly only showed his real lvl when i mattered = in the play offs.

If he goes to Clippers the west will be stacked af. Lakers, Nuggets, Clippers, Rockets, Mavericks even GSW without KD and Klay lmfao
2019-06-25 15:02
but i think clippers are a massiv downgrade and imagine kawhi at lakers massiv fowards

It is a downgrade because he just won a title with the Raptors, but Kawhi can make the Clippers a contender, they went 6 games against a healthy GSW last season

They only had to defend one man, how is that being great at defense? Curry alone made them sweat all the serie, and still they won just bc some randoms like van vleet, siakal and ibaka were on fire at the offensive side

If you think Kawhi wasn’t the best defensive player in the last season you’re delusional. Keep in mind he’s talking about the full season not only regular season, unlike what the dpoy awards take in consideration

I never mentioned kawhi, he is a great player, if he should've played more games during regular season he would've won every trophy

I thought you were talking about him since the other guy mentioned the Raptors
2019-06-25 14:52
He's the best 2 way player. Not best defensive player. But raptors defense was stellar.

Offensively yes Defensively not even close
2019-06-25 13:33
yeah, he’s still a shit defender, but without this insane season by him, the Rockets would most likely miss the offs, like, 50% of the team got injured and then Harden became literally a offensive god when the team played through him. My thought on this is that if Giannis made a regular season for him 25 ppg 8-9 rbs 4 ast the Buck would not really lose that much, maybe 2-3 games with a bad result, but nothing. important, if Harden wasn’t at this level offensively, the Rockets would prob be, at the best, a 8th to 7th seed. For me, Harden was more Valuable to his team, so he should had won the MVP.

Without Giannis Milwaukee would never have been #1 overall nor had 60 wins. Yes, Bucks is a much better team than Rockets but you can’t take away that MVP from Giannis just because Harden has better offensive stats, his only job on this team was to score
2019-06-25 14:02
Yeah, if you take out the best player from any team they will be bad. But if Giannis made the exactly same season as last year they would still be a +50 win team, ffs they have the best coach and some of the best role players in the league if Harden had a non MVP season(like he did in 2014-2015) Rockets would prob be a 8th seed or even worse. And his defense isn’t even that bad anymore, of course he isn’t a demigod like Giannis, but he isn’t a liability. I respect Giannis, but for me, Harden value to his team was bigger.

But then you’re comparing a good Giannis season with a trash Harden season, and it’s not fair. And like I said to the other guy, it’s not the 1st time someone scored that many ppg and didn’t get the MVP. You can’t only count the offensive stats, and even if you do that Giannis was more efficient than Harden offensively since Harden had way more shots and more minutes played than Giannis.
2019-06-25 14:14
No, it’s not a “trash season”, it’s because the last 3-4 years Harden was at the MVP race, so I would put a MVP level against a all star level season. Harden was superior at ast numbers and was a solid rebounder, basically made Capela be a +15 player with lobs and was top 10 in steals, even tho he gambles a lot and this can fuck his defense sometimes. Giannis efficiency was higher because he wasn’t getting double teamed and forced to take contested step-back three pointers every time. If Giannis was double teamed he had decent shooter to pass in Brogdon, Lopez or Middleton. If Harden was double teamed he would pass to who? CP3, who is shooting 42% from the field? Capela, a liability 3 feet away from the rim? Gordon and Tucker were the only trustful shooters and even they were inconsistent most of the time. As for Kobe-Nash, everyone knows that Kobe deserved the MVP that season, isn’t even debatable.

Ok fair enough Giannis wasnt far from Harden in assists though, while in most defensive stats his stats were far better than Harden’s. True, but that’s what makes Giannis a beast, he doesn’t have to shoot 3s because that just isn’t his game, he plays at the rim and he’s a beast doing it. If you double team a guy like Giannis you’re most likely fouling him all the time and giving him 3p plays or open 3s to his teammates you see? It’s not only because his teammates can shoot, it’s because Giannis also can create that space for his teammates In the Kobe-Nash season I can definetly say if it wasn’t Nash it should have been Lebron who got the award, not Kobe. MJ had 37 ppg in a season where Magic was the MVP, it’s not only about who scores the most you see?

Don't like harden at all, but he was offensivily much more impactful in a harder conference... 9 games with 50+, 32 STRAIGHT games with 30+... dude... Idk but that's a hard pick for me

His only job in the team was to score It’s not 1st time someone averaged that many pts and didn’t get mvp, basketball isn’t only about scoring dude, sure Harden had a great season but Giannis was better overall And tbh eastern conference was harder this season
2019-06-25 13:57
Harder conference? 76ers, Boston, Toronto and Millwuakee > Houston, GSW, Portland, Denver. About Harden and Giannis : Harden - 24.5 FGA with 0.442 FG%, 7.5 APG, 6.6 RPG Giannis - 17.3 FGA and 0.578 FG%, 5,9 APG, 12 RPG Harden is more selfish and less usefull in defence, make more shots with lower effectiveness. Choice is simple :)

Yes, but only because Harden is a fan favorite

Harden is the most hated player after Lebron and KD, LUL. and for #41, it’s jornalists like Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith who decide the MVP. These guys: m.youtube.com/watch?v=RafHoHvb20Y m.youtube.com/watch?v=Non_dTEbVbc SAS was 0-6 in 6 straight finals predictions xaxaxaxaxa
