Jesus, that's really unfortunate. I'm in the States and you can usually pick up the MX500 for dirt cheap prices, usually these days along like 40-55$ max for 1. They aren't anywhere close to an EVO 970 because they aren't M.2, but coming from a strictly HDD-based user for the longest time, the MX500 is still fast as Hell for the price.
Edit: Just Googled, in hindsight I should've probably done so before offering information, but the MX and apparently all the other budget SSDs I had before save a few, have risen exponentially in pricing again. I'm not really sure, but I can still find a few links that offer them for like 15$ cheaper but that isn't much. That's a fat shame, sorry man.
E 2: The Samsung EVO 860 is half the price of the EVO 970, which may make it worth it if you can find any promos as well. Idk if you can use the Samsung app for the EVO 860 to speed it up like the 970, but if you can it might be worth it. Not really sure though, I'm OOTL for components these days.
