1400$/month for nonamers to play a videogame, seems like a good deal to me

Tbh its more the buyout and the 40% prizepool. And they were stupid enough to sign a fucking 5 year contract.. Holy shit. Their buyout is properly crazy high now

That was their old contract, not the new one. Also they said buyout would be the same with higher salary and buyout drops a lot if the player is benched. Bigger prizepool % now too

yeah.. But he was talking about 1400/ month for a no name team was good. And that was a fine salary, but the fucked up part about their old contracts was not the salary but the buyout and prizepool percentage

Yea, those weren't great, but not a bad contract for Furia at the time. They weren't really playing in tournaments with big prize pools at the time anyway. Their new contract is much better, only bad part is the 5 year part. People just assume new contract sucks because a few of the terms in the last one.

the only way that the ORG could know how good they are is if they were time travelers, the org was actually taking a risky by paying 5 nonamers 1400$ per month and also providing housing for them to play in the USA and insted of praising the org for doing it people are actually talking shit about them, if wasn't for Furia org these players would still be playing gamersclub at brazil and making 0$ per month.
2019-06-25 16:09
Contract itself was trash though. They were trying to scam them as well.

why was it trash? 1400$ plus providing housing to the players, for a team of 5 unknow players that had no achievments in csgo.
2019-06-25 16:17
It's trash now, but you have to remember that they signed early 2018, and the best they had done in those months were Brazilian tournaments with 5000-10000$ prizepools at best. They started getting good at the end of 2018 when they got into MDL and qualified for Katowice Major.
2019-06-25 16:09
But isn't this a new contract? As of 2019.

cmon, usually people comment without reading the article but you can't even the title m8? "A leading esports lawyer has told Dexerto that FURIA Esports’ CS:GO team had one of the worst contracts he had ever seen before they signed new five-year deals with the organization."
2019-06-25 16:26
But why tf would they resign with them.

because they have better contracts now? and why wouldn't they sign with the org that provided them the opportunity to compete between the best and show their talent? while everybody is hating Furia for how low the players salary was when they were nobodies, the players are probably grateful to Furia, if wasn't for Furia the players would probably still be in brazil playing local leagues.

name checks out... They resigned cause the org actually gave them a chance when they were nonamers, and im sure now their contracts are much better with better salary and share of prizepool since they have much more bargaining power.

can you even read? Furia players got a new 5 year contract the text that you read in that thread was from their old contract, the one that already expired which they signed back when they were still playing at Brazil and nobody knew that they would become a top 10 team.

they didn't release the new contract so there's no way to know, but people hating on Furia are dumb as fuck and don't know how a business work, Furia made a contract with 5 unknow players they had no guarantee that these players would achiev anything, they moved them to USA and paid for housing, for the first few months it was actually a gamble by Furia, since they were actually bleeding money and didn't know if the team was goin to work.

Bro i swear half the ppl in this thread are braindead. Firstly cant even read article title, also they somehow think orgs should be paying new talent that hasnt proven anything yet 6 figure salary out the gate, or are unable to comprehend the fact that furia obviously wasnt a top 10 team when they had signed the original contracts back in early 2018.

yea dude, people should actually be praising Furia as an org for giving the opportunity to 5 unknow players to compete between the best and prove their talent, like i already said Furia made a gamble, they could have lost alot of money if the team didn't work, but somehow some ppl think that Furia already knew that the team would do good and that Furia as an org was actually trying to scam the players, Furia owners must be time travelers haha.

ik, like are they unaware how many times esports orgs might try to take a gamble with unproven talent and the players end up accomplishing nothing and they lose money overall. Now that furia has proven talent they have more bargaining power and furia ofc gives them better contracts.
2019-06-25 16:44
You didn't read the article, right? "The buyouts are the same as the old contract, just proportionally adjusted with the bigger salaries and benefits."
