He didn't mention cheating once in that entire statement...
I too, have only faced a literal handful of blatant cheaters in my years of play (roughly 1,300 hrs).
He said pre-teaming and smurfing are issues.
Smurfing is made much easier now - you don't even have to pay for it. As for pre-teaming, you get the tryhards and the casual pre-mades. Pray you get the tryhard pre-team if you're solo Qing. In addition to that, the influx of casual players to MM since it became free to get CSGO. Even getting out of silver does nothing. Nova is the worst for smurfing. The skill level is quite large from mid-Nova to mid-MG. And most players who get stuck in MG, smurf down to nova which completely destroys any measures in place for balancing - trust factor or not. On top of that, it gets perpetually worse when they're pre-made smurf queues of several of them. Completely decimate nova rank. For solo-Qing, In many cases, you can hold your own against solo Q MGs, you really can. But a team of them? Or worse, being trolled by your own lads is another blatant threat.
Getting guys that AFK every 2-3 rds because they're so casual. "I dont care about your tactics, I just want to play.." - And this is why there's Casual, Public, Missions, and DM servers. If you choose to play Competitive, you're aiming for an authentic match - but have no energy to contribute to the team atmosphere in a team game? It makes this person the selfish one, not the toxic guy trying to win. IMO, of course. At this point, I'll take the toxic guy who is actively contributing to the win over any casual, anyday. Maybe that's why I have an affinity for players like Stewie. Because he wants to win. I don't care what he says to his opponents - if anything - being toxic to your opponent is a psychological game that can help your own situation out. No issues, but I digressed there.
They basically skip DM/Casual/Public servers/Missions/etc, then immediately join Competitive Matchmaking with no idea what to do. And then complain about toxicity from teammates actively trying to win, lol. They don't listen to instruction, they just do their own selfish thing - only to get agitated and tilted when they get called out for it. This is MUCH worse now than several years ago.
