Stars on Jerseys

I think every team should have a star on their jerseys to say how many majors have been won by them. The only teams I see with it are C9 and Astralis, would be cool to have every other team have it too like football

I like the idea

5 different orgs that have won majors range from irrelevant to non-existent in the scene so there's no point.
2019-07-12 12:45
when a national team has stars on their jersey it's okay because it's the country's achievment, but in cs, rosters change quite a lot and there's often no connection between the current and the major winner players. Like the previous c9 roster, that only had auti from the winning team, and some europeans

what about clubs having stars then??
2019-07-12 12:47
that's pretty dumb too, and there's no rule for it. Some teams do it for ucl, some for the national league, and then there's bayern, who have had 4 stars for years, even tho they've won both competitions since

ok but since you said stars on national teams are ok because its the country's achivement then why not do it for clubs it's the clubs' achievements too

When a national team wins, then it is the country's achievement. Something everyone in that country is proud of. The vast majority of people cheer for their national team and wants them to win. In cs it is different. You dont have the same bonding to an org as you have to your country. Several orgs have had a lineup based around 1 specific country, but then completely change the whole roster. So if a roster that is centered around Brazilians wins a major, then the lineup changes to a swedish roster, then that major doesnt mean anything anymore.

As someone else said, Envy is a great example. They won a major based around french players, but look at the team now. That major doesnt mean anything to the current players, not the fans either. It only means something to the players that actually won that major

So the current NA nV would have stars, when they don't have a single player from their major run?
2019-07-12 12:48
same with Luminosity
2019-07-12 12:49
fnatic has like 9 esports teams so cant just make a jersey with stars would be too much trouble
2019-07-12 12:52
liquid should have at least 4 stars
2019-07-12 12:54
Liquid LCS team have 3 stars for 3 LCS wins Liquid Dota team have 1 star for the 1 TI they won (they only had this on their ti8 jersey)
