not good not bad a bit like Nirvana it is good
2019-07-14 13:29
is it a rap song? ok, i'm an astronaut
2019-07-14 13:42
Yes. It is also made by The Roots, a rap band.
2019-07-14 13:45
don't matter what band made this, vocal sounds definetely not like rap cuz it's not a recitative. It reminds pop-punk, instrumental reminds it too. so..
2019-07-14 13:55
yeah, it was mostly a joke cuz he wrote aids instead of a music genre.

That's just a nu-metal song
2019-07-14 11:53
what's the difference between nu-metal and raprock? From my MC perspective I see this as a rap song with a rock/metal instrumental.
2019-07-14 11:55
Israel soprendo
I guess you're right
2019-07-14 11:58
rap rock is a subgenre of nu metal
2019-08-20 19:27
2019-08-20 19:39
not all nu metal bands have hip hop/rap in their songs
2019-08-20 20:05
how is nu-metal related to rap rock then?
2019-08-20 20:19
I just told you, but you decided to disagree. Nu metal is heavy metal/hard rock with influences from other genres, including rap, but not limited to it. You can say that all rap metal is nu metal, but you can't say that all nu metal is rap metal.

This CD was literally Jay-Z trying to gain new fans in the metal genre by using Linkin Park their music and write some new lyrics over it. There's a famous clip of Jay-Z being surprised of Chester his insane scream, as if he's just seen the light or something, it's hilarious.
2019-08-28 18:04
that's not totally true. This CD mixes Jay-Z songs with Linkin Park ones. As far as I know the Album Idea was MTV's , just like how Adult Swim made MF DOOM and Danger Mouse collab.
2019-08-28 20:11
ReDeYe |
Belgium Septa
But this CD was made after these songs already existed so it's not really a go-to song for metal listeners if they want to get into rap because it's purely the song that they might know from Linkin Park. I'm gonna be 100 % honest, I definitely like this album and sometimes do listen to it when it comes on in my playlist.
2019-08-28 20:13
Also the rap songs and the 'new lyrics' already existed. It's a really fair collaboration between Linkin Park and Jay-Z, makes both rap and metal fans discover new music.

2019-07-14 11:39
Good choice i really like Gangsta's Paradise, it's actually a very good song with very good lyrics and a catchy beat. If you haven't heard, metal versions of this song is actually really good. (closer to the original) (more screamy/growly)
2019-07-14 11:56
I always prefer the original over remixes and I'm pretty sure that you can find some metal songs that are great.
2019-07-14 11:57
Don't be like that, originals are good always but you can enjoy both originals and covers of songs, don't limit yourself like that.
2019-07-14 11:59
Some remixes are fine, some arent. There are also some remixes that I like and I mainly listen to albums where remixes occur too.

Black metal listeners are cringey enough, but a turk who listens to black metal?? LUL you cant make this shit up ladies and gentlemen
2019-08-28 21:28
Progressive rock/metal that builds up and tells a story, e.g. Tool, some Metallica, Pink Floyd, Gojira
2019-07-14 11:41
You might like this, it tells a story and it's prog/melodeath
2019-07-14 11:43
The beginning was a bit too predictable and poppy with the guitar harmonics. Also, not really feeling the black vocals, it's a bit too black for me. But I like the variety after 5-6 minutes and the bridge. I don't know when this is from but sounds like some old Kalmah. My personal favourite story at the moment: Gojira - Global Warming
2019-07-14 11:49
I find the vocals to be the perfectly balanced between harsh-soft growls, but everyone has a different taste of course. I like Gojira but i can't listen to them too often, idk why but it gets boring after 2-3 tracks. I really like Flying Whales, probably my favorite song by them.

I´m from early 90s kid, this is a classic. Love it.
2019-07-14 11:59
So you're not a rap hater after all..
2019-07-14 12:41
I like this cause it has groove, but modern rap sucks ass.
2019-07-14 13:41 modern rap like this?
2019-07-14 13:45
Nt, but the style is not modern. It might be new but the sound is old. Also, not I dont really like that.
2019-07-14 13:47
modern like this? this is trap. basically rap with high BPM beats, made with computer programs.
2019-07-14 13:49
Yes that sucks bad. Autotume and excessive use of hihat and mumbling, that is something i hate.
2019-07-14 15:22
This track has no autotune tho. There are some 'good' trap songs out there.. I feel like Kendrick Lamar is doing a good job.
2019-07-14 15:34
I know that everyone likes Kendrick, and i sort of have respect for him, but I still dont listen to it or like it
2019-07-14 15:36
You should check out his 2015 album : To Pimp a Butterfly. It's nothing like trap... it mixes rap with some other genres and it's simply an awesome album.
2019-07-14 15:38
Just listened to a song called Alright, I guess its from that album? Din't like it one bit. Dont like the way he sings, monotone voice, mumbling, niBBa dis niBBa dat. Boring and cringe
2019-07-14 16:18
yeah it's from the album... I feel like listening it as part of the album makes sense, but alone doesnt.
2019-07-14 16:54
But if I don't even like the sound, I don't care about the lyrics. It's too sloppy and lazy.
2019-07-15 15:47
the album experiments with some jazz instrumentals and things.
2019-07-15 15:48
A bit better, but still doesn't talk at all to me. To me music is about instrumental and vocal skill, and that is not what I just heard. What I just heard was a sampled and very simple beat with a black man talking over it. To me there's nothing musical about it.
2019-07-15 15:52
Maybe you should start with album's opening track ? lol There is actual singing here.
2019-07-15 16:01 you might recognize a voice in this song (Max cavalera from soulfly/sepultura)
2019-08-21 02:09
Ye but Ill Bill and Immortal Technique is great rap. I don't deny it, but it's old school / hardcore style, and not this new trap-like, mumbling, face-tattoo and rainbow-haired shit "music". What I've learned is that mostly I actually just hate people rapping about themselves. It give me nausea. Also, great with Max Cavalera! I think it suits the song perfect.

2019-08-21 01:50
Portugal Zedonp
most def, cuz mainstream nowadays is literaly dumbed down music
2019-08-21 11:06
Yep. 90% of it is pure garbage technically, and I'm saying technically cause that is what rap is about, being technically skilled is something everyone will value, flow, lyrics, delivery of your vocals all fall into that. Whilst mainstream is just party music with no flow switches, no point in the lyrics, same boring ass delivery, a catchy but still very fucking generic trap beat with the same 808 and the same hi hats just different compression and distortion. Underground does it way better, even if you look at the beats, it's still trap but it's much more creative, I mean look at $uicideBoy$, yeah you might not like them as rappers cause they're edgy and cause of the name but $crim (aka Budd Dwyer when he produces, 1/2 of $uicideBoy$) has legit the most godlike beats, it's still trap but he is much more versatile with everything and it all sounds different despite them as a group having put out like 240 songs since 2014. Another producer is thraxx, The Virus & Antidote, greaf etc

could you give me some links so that I get a taste of how these genres sound like?
2019-07-14 13:27
No need, you won't find any rap song even remotely similar to that. And most of your songs that you posted here are either vastly different or not in the rap style anymore. Rap genre is not versatile, despite its freedom off all the orders, it's very primitive and repetitive. You can give me one or two songs somehow similar to mine but they won't be rap songs anymore. Keep listening to it but don't push it down anyone's throats.
2019-07-14 13:29
Check the definition of rap How can you make a comment so wack?
2019-07-14 13:32
Oh, there are no definitions to either genre, it's dependant on a few very well known things. Vast majority of rap compositions don't even have a music theory backup so anything you can give me will be a whole different style or a blatant misshot. A very bad try.
2019-07-14 13:34
If you call rap anything that has no music theory backup then it's not my problem. Music is about having an experience while listening to it and creating emotions.
2019-07-14 13:39
Well, it's your problem since you told us that you'd give something as good as songs from our chosen style but it still is gonna be the same old story with those mumbles and monkey time.
2019-07-14 13:40
Tell me your Favourite genre. I give you a rap song so you can tell me if you hate/like this song, also why. ??? "you told us that you'd give something as good as songs from our chosen style "
2019-07-14 13:44
Yes, I finished your initial thought on that by myself but you give songs in a similar style that the genres we would pick and it's still a massive flop so I don't know what you roll your eyes for.
2019-07-14 13:45
This post is created for you to explore new songs that you may enjoy. If I give you a song, you tell me that you hated it and why, I review this and come up with a new song that you may like.
2019-07-14 13:48
Understood, you also said shortly after that you wanted to portray how versatile rap is. It's quite silly because once again, rap doesn't follow the same orders as the classic styles so it's a lot easier to do anything you damn want in that direction without any scientific weight to it. I'll refrain from the future bashing, enjoy it if you do. I got mine.

well the lyrics make the rap song good. They have a sexual innuendo while also talking about being 'stuck' between the walls of your own mind.
2019-08-20 19:58

It's dull, repetitive, all sounds the same and the sound just isn't good.

u gotta understand that the music really starts usually at 2 min, if it has 6 min or something, the first and last 1:30min are for the dj mixing, so u have to skip the song a little bit

2019-08-20 19:54
No, I ve listened to Tim by Avicii and it was alright. Also the album Dinuts by J Dilla is incredible for the year it was released, try it.
2019-08-20 20:02
U should linsten to it, it's a great techno album and the way he build it is so different
2019-08-22 14:10
I listened a bit of it and it instantly remembered me of Thom Yorke. Are you familiar with this artist?
2019-08-22 17:58
Give me an exemple of really bad techno
2019-08-20 19:53
idk, like I said I don't listen to techno. The only time I hear it is at the club or on the radio.
2019-08-20 19:55

80s-90s hiphop. Modern rap is full of people pretending to be gangster for the money when they’re really middle class white kids.
2019-08-21 00:06
Eh... If by modern you mean mainstream rap then yes. 90% of that is pure garbage at least technically, it's just party music. No flow switches, no point in the lyrics, same boring ass delivery, a catchy but still very fucking generic trap beat with the same 808 and the same hi hats just different compression and distortion. Underground rap is cool tho like 60% of it is good except the 40% who are people just doing the shitty trap style hoping that they'll one day blow up
2019-08-21 01:54
+1 this is the most true thing i've heard so far

2019-08-21 17:55
Yeah. Don't know why. I like rap but somehow kendrick I dislike, maybe his voice.
2019-08-21 18:11
Btw who are your favorite? Because it looks like you know alot.
2019-08-21 18:15
kendrick is my 2010s favourite, MF DOOM my 2000s favourite and probs Biggie Smalls for the 90s
2019-08-21 18:19
Is Bryson Tiller r&b or rap? MF DOOM is good biggie is great, one of the best, but I liked big L better
2019-08-21 18:22
imo he is R&B how much MF DOOM have you listened to? I barely listen to 90s rap atm but now I remembered that Ghostface Killah is also from the 90s so maybe he is my favourite. Imo Big L and Biggie died to soon to consider them as the best from the 90s.
2019-08-21 18:27
Actually never listened to MF DOOM in they way of putting on his music, he would just come on in a random playlist. So I know his song but don't know what they are called. somehow he got into playlist from Mos def. Is 6lack rap or r&b?
2019-08-21 18:45
well many doom songs are actual remixes made by fans xd. To see the genius of doom, you must listen to a full album by him. 6lack sounds like trap
2019-08-22 09:15
i listened mostly music without much lyrics, only melody and good vibes. classical, techno and sometimes more.

2019-08-27 16:07
can you explain what you dont like in this song?
2019-08-27 20:53
it's not a song. rap is not a music. it's a misapprehension
2019-08-28 10:21
did you even listen to the song?
2019-08-28 10:24
2019-08-28 10:34
well it definitely has musicality, because there's also singing here. Am I right?
2019-08-28 10:41
if we exclude the piece of rap we will get typical church song which n****rs sing every sunday in conclusion: rap is not a music
2019-08-28 10:45
yeah definitely... There's a white female singing... Stop being racist
2019-08-28 11:01
as a staunch rap hater i admire your love to rap. you're amazing

can you even rate the song? This performance meant a lot to me because this song is off my first cd that I bought as a teenager.
2019-08-27 20:55
there is nothing to be rated to be honest
2019-08-27 20:56
ok I will give you studio performances if you prefer those. Im looking forward to hearing your opinion.
2019-08-27 21:08
2019-08-27 21:10
could you give me more information about it? I am really concerned.
2019-08-27 21:12
A lot of people truly believe that if you add something like rock or rap along with classical music, it ruins it all. Seems like we found one.
2019-08-28 11:35
I hate those who insult you and then run xd clearly trolling.
2019-08-28 11:51
Also.. regarding to my picks.. When I saw that you like classical music I expected you to examine the songs, not just listen to them and bump your head. That's why I gave you a song with deep lyrics. I love classical music as well.. I like it particularly because it makes you feel emotions without using any words and most songs are roller coasters of emotions.. just like movies or stories. True art.
2019-08-27 21:22
Progressive Metal.
2019-08-27 14:37

2019-08-27 16:25
??? rating?
2019-08-27 20:46
Epic Metal (things like Gloryhammer, Sabaton, Alestorm, ...)
2019-08-27 14:56
Wtf is that? Two songs in the same time? Honestly, the flow of the rapper is really nice, perfect on the beat but definitively horrible with the singing part and it's even worse with the violin..
2019-08-27 15:52
I appreciate your opinion and I would like you to review this song as well:
2019-08-27 20:49
This one sounds really really nice! The beat is nice, the flow is good, I like it.
2019-08-28 08:37
this album is really unconventional and some people hate this type of experimental music.
2019-08-27 21:25
Tbh, I don't really see the experimental thing in this song. In my opinion, we can make a parallel with Gorillaz putting strange musical background with rap voicing and their first album came out in 2001. Maybe I'm too narrow on this point because I'm a musician, thinking that experimental music must have smth to do with at least a bit of harmonic.
2019-08-28 08:42
well having '2 songs at the same time' doesnt sound too convential, doesnt it? xd Gorillaz feels like is all about being experimental. btw: The guy who raps Strange ways also has a song with Gorillaz: November has come
2019-08-28 09:37
Oooh, that's the reason why his voice sounds so familiar to me! An excellent song from Gorillaz :) And Gorillaz is exactly only experimental and atypical, the singer had already Blur to make his "proper" stuff.
2019-08-28 09:43
I dont really like this new rap. except post malone. I also like rock/grunge. And I kinda like this song from lithuanians haha

2019-08-27 21:29
No, because rap is my fav genre.
2019-08-27 21:31
Lil Peep can be attributed to the genre of rap?
2019-08-27 17:06
yes, he is Emo Rap, a subgenre of rap. He cant be attributed to good rap tho
2019-08-27 20:49
Why? he has such a nice voice
2019-08-28 17:56
he sounds really blend, lifeless and his lyrics are really edgy
2019-08-29 11:22
I'm not even hater. I like old school west coast rap. But my favorite genre would be Hard Rock.
2019-08-27 19:35
The first rap album I've ever listened to was Straight Outta Compton. The album that introduced me to modern rap was Madvillainy(2004) and what made me listen to new albums was To Pimp a Butterfly(2015) check them out when you have some spare time.

2019-08-29 11:18
It's a matter of taste
2019-08-29 11:30
well I can make some lyrics like: I am the king I have a crown When I go in the town I walk upside down And frown You are just a clown And deliver them in a similar manner to that greek guy and the song would have a similar quality xd. Also.. I see that he is making the lyrics with youtube comments, and that's some nice youtube content I guess, but not something to listen for a hip-hop head on a playlist.
2019-08-29 13:01
Actually, he does a video to ask for comments and then he deletes the video and creates the song. He received more than 100 000 comments last time, it's a huge work even if, as you said, the rimes are not that strong. But why wouldn't it be part of a playlist? I mean, when you are listening music you don't always listen every sentence, I like the flow more than anything else and this guy is making it work.
2019-08-29 13:12
I see your point. In my opinion the flow is not that good...maybe because Im not familiar with the greek language. I've visited Greece once and the language sounds really difficult for me.
