*a feat that even the greatest team in CS history, Astralis was NOT able to accomplish
Forgot the "NOT"
NA destroyers back to top30, liquid era now is over
2 grand slams is definitely more impressive. You will always have a major winner for every major that take place, but you will not always have a team winning the grand slam.
> IGS=Extra money
> Major=greatest legacy, Most prestigious tournament
don't even know what to say
Great question,i need time to think
2 grande slams is more impressive, but we only got 2 grand slams but so many majors, so historically majors are more expressive but grand slams are more impressive
more money is always better
2 grand slams as long as Major isn't that prestigious to win keeping in mind this 1 mill $ prizepool for all the teams lmao. If CS:GO had an International-type of event, we would have a more interesting discussion though
2 major >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 2 grandslam
Grand slams I think, but you do still need majors imo otherwise it will be difficult discussing eras and whatnot.
2 majors, major always > everything else
grand slam is more important because there are some multi-major winner teams
Stewie_6_Majors (1 in Boston, 4 to win a Grand Slam + the Grand Slam itself), maybe even 7 with the gold bar he earned.
Grandslam= more money
Both are impressive in their own way but imo i’d rather win 2 majors since the majority of the players arent in it for the money but for the game.
Trynna find an excuse for liquid to choke on majors
Keep in your mind
Cloud9 1 major > liquid 0 major
"a feat that even the greatest team in cs history, Astralis was able to accomplish.", I arent think thatz
Depends on the competition and whatever if the wins were flukes or not
Grand Slam Winner > Major Winner for the difficulty.
Major Winner > Grand Slam Winner for the legacy.
Grand Slam Winner + a Major around the same time = era.
Majors > everything in CSGO
not even worth questioning, I hope Liquid are able to finally win it, my boy EliGE deserves it
Edit: not saying that winning the Major is harder but if you are playing for legacy nothing beats winning a Major
Major > grand slam
2 majors < 2 grand slams
will there even be another grand slam?
Thing is they still choke major
Majors > Grand Slam when it comes to prestige
grand slam is impressive because it requires consistent performance but it's not really comparable to majors because every team doesn't have the same chance to participate in the tournaments (ESL Pro League Finals for example)
but this shouldn't be an issue because dominant team should win at least 2 majors + grand slam
majors is the only thing that matters. grand slam is just some marketing bullshit from Intel that will probably stop being a thing in a few years and then nobody cares about it anymore. in the long run only majors matter.
imagine winning 2 glam slam but not a single major.
I don't understand why is everyone putting majors so much above any other tournaments
Sure, if they do kudos. Wouldn't be as impressive if the only tourneys they manage to win happen to be ESL.
Also, ENCE? When have they last played, anyway? I'd say Na'Vi has a better chance than ENCE even though their chances aren't all that good, either.
IMO Valve need to have Major once in a year. Which will truly determine which is best team at that point. Just like Dota2 International is held once a year. Number had already gone down from 3 to 2 majors per year. Grand slam is unique to itself but major obviously feels more prestigious as players get trophy for being Semi finalist and winners.
