When fnatic were a top team and NiP shit - that was the darkest Period
ofc it gives you ptsd since faze would rape liquid in 9/10 games
this period rn
not because liquid are top 1, but because no other team is playing well
astralis have lost their magic, vitality is basically carried by Zywoo, ENCE seems to be hit or miss, but mostly hit, NRG cant find their true potential, MIBR is dead, NiP and Fnatic are inconsistent, G2 is again, hit or miss, and we havent seen enough of new NaVi
I feel like Liquid is the undisputed top 1 because every other team is lacking, not because Liquid are doing exceptionally well. And don't get me wrong, Liquid is hands down an amazing team that have players that fit all the pieces, and I still think that if Astralis had their magic they would be a head on contender like FaZe was, but this is my opinion
when Na'vi was number 1 over fnatic and lg/sk after major for 2 weeks
when jumping sniping was broken. only reason cold has a graffiti
The early period where the game was broken and it seriously looked like CS was going to die out because people left 1.6 and Source, came to CS:GO and found it shit, and moved on to other games.
I remember the premier tournaments barely scraping 50k viewers. There was a lot wrong with the 'gamefeel' early on for sure.
current, NA top 1, gave me cancer
Why of all periods in counterstrike, does faze top1 bother you the most?
It was when kennyS's legs were getting waxed in the tournament
When throwing cake at peoples' faces..etc
Astralis top 1, ruining viewers experience and declining the game's viewership. It will recover now that they were put in their place. Soon T2 team.
for germany there hasnt even been a bright csgo period.
now for sure
legends are fading away, and we have LULquid as top one, most lol-pubg lookalike players to ever touch top1 in cs in history
also the top1 choke org in history is top1 in the legit rank now
this is too weird
2019 because too much drama about pointless things like BLAST , not having correct casters etc
Faze period isn't the darkest because it really didn't last that long. They didn't defeat SK in their prime either. The Astralis Era have been detrimental for the esports scene of cs go in general because they were winning literally everything. Watching tournaments wasn't exciting anymore. But we can't blame Astralis for playing on another level. Other teams took their time to catch up, which made that era boring.
For me 2018 When shox and kennyS were failing badly at anything, dark times
Faze era was fun, shouldve won the major to cement an era
FaZe and imo end of Astralis because it was boring watching them run over every team.
When Liquid is dominant is the worst period.
Faze was never truly "#1" tbh, at that time SK beated them every single time.
cs:go never had bright times
joke scene, joke pros, every tier4 team is matchfixing, no manners in scene, fpl/mm is ruled by non-english speaking idiots that only troll and the competetive lvl is nowhere near close to other pro games, just classic first person shooter community
when the new casters come to tier 1 matches
Worst period ever. I dont even want to watch CS anymore.
Probably just after VP fell off hard. Every teams dominant era was marked with close exciting games with VP, or being absolutely stomped by them in a final or two. Keeping teams from having absolutely perfect records. They disappeared and we got one of the most boring times in CS. Astralis just methodically taking teams out 2-0 with them barely getting double digits in a very intelligent, but boring to watch playstyle.
That ability to remain gate keepers to being the best team in the world for so many years is the only reason I still rep the VP badge.
Virtus.pro losing Atlanta
For me its when Virtus.Pro started to die
