cause they arent California :d
2019-07-19 11:46
You are actually kind of stupid and don't do research. California Universities (UCLA, UC Irvine, etc...) actually can not accept people based on color, unlike Northeast Liberal Arts Universities like Cornell, Northwestern, New York University. That is why there are so many asians at UCLA and USC, because California schools can not do that. Just a factual thought. Don't talk about what you don't know, and don't take this personally. I just wanted to tell you because you would look stupid if you told someone this IRL...

Just another case of me spouting gibberish relax, I sometimes make these comments cause I mock California ALOT for their stupidity and how PC it is.
2019-07-19 13:16
Ok, I generally don't like California either, but they do some things well. Jo offense meant btw.
2019-07-19 14:10
The shit is spreading to stem fields too but not as bad yet, but for example females are getting to grad school/phd studies easier in many places
2019-07-19 12:53
Yeah could be true. But the main thing though is that the content cannot be subject to altering based on it. Humanities courses have a more interpretivistic approach and thus can be manipulated allot.
2019-07-20 09:55
And California hasn't???

I live in Massachusetts so i would know. Its a good school but just extremely overrated, not worth it tho.

Maybe I was a little too harsh, but tbh it just seems like a place to build connections and move up in the world.

its still not worth it from my POV, people from all over usually want to come cause of its fame and reputation as a high class university.
2019-07-19 12:27
So have you been in Harvard Business school or what is your opinion based on? There are large corporations that only hire from Ivy schools

its not overrated at all what are you talking about?? having a MBA in Harvard Business School is probably the best qualification for the highest paid jobs in the world and isnt that why people go there? best professors, gigantic network, as well as any job you could basically want in the business world having the opportunity to study there is kinda like an investment in your future... ofc you are going to start ur life with debt but you will pay that off within the first 5-10 years of your job and then you are the top of the top... dunno what you are talking about honestly!

In France we have specialized schools in various topics, so it is hard to name just 5 better all around but all in the list are in (or around) Paris: Multi categories : Science-Po ENS Business : HEC Science : École Polytechnique ParisTech (Mines, Pont, etc..) CentraleSupélec Administration : ENA (Strasbourg)

2019-07-19 11:49
I am not a specialist of studies neither I am of math but ENS teach to a lot of our top searchers so I'm not surprised. Note that you are paid to study in ENS (as it is supposed to be a school to teach state teachers)

Definitely below the above mentionned schools
2019-07-19 14:32
Let's take a look about most succesful students of La Sorbonne : Politics : Manuel Valls Business : Michel-Édouard Leclerc, inherited presidency of Leclerc group today in difficulties Science : not found Now few exemple of other : Politic : ENA = 3 President, countless amount of prime minister HEC = 1 President Science-Po = 3 Presidents Business : X (Polytechniques) = Bernard Arnault, founder of LVMH, 2nd wealthiest people on Earth Patrick Pouyanné CEO of Total Etc... HEC = Serge Dassault, CEO of Dassault Pierre Bellon, 13th richest french Jean-Paul Agon, CEO of L’Oréal etc.. ENA = Bernard Lathière (Airbus) Serge Weinberg (Accor) Jean-Cyril Spinetta (Air France) Henri de Castries (Axa) Louis Gallois (EADS) Baudouin Prot (BNP Paribas) Pierre Mongin (RATP) Paul Hermelin (Capgemini) Bruno Lafont (Lafarge) Frédéric Saint-Geours (Peugeot) Philippe Crouzet (Vallourec) Francois Pérol (BPCE) Michel Pébereau (BNP Paribas) Frédéric Oudéa (Société générale) Alexandre Bompard (Fnac) Gérard Mestrallet (Suez) Pierre-André de Chalendar (Saint-Gobain) Yves-Thibault de Silguy (Vinci) The difference seems pretty obvious. Also, I'm not specialist but from what I heard it seems Paris-Naterre is more valuated than La Sorbonne
2019-07-19 15:02
What about École normale supérieure?
2019-07-19 17:42
