I was actually wondering about him and other pros too how come they lose their ability to frag over the years like get right was one of the best clutchers in the game yet now he struggles to get positive k/d in matches but why is it like that? Is it because playing computer games for years has this effect on health or maybe the scene just got more and more complex?

years and reflexes took get_right's skill his sickness has uknown couse (DNA probably) and same playstyle over 10 years

It might not be that GeT_RiGhT is any worse than before, just that everyone else is much better.

gtr is geting older, reflexes are slower. there is also a ridiculous amount of pro players that have the resources provided by organizations to just play nonstop and have the best aim they can possibly have, so his whole "play the game 12 hours a day" thing isnt very different from everyone else. he can't just grind to get better anymore, he's plateaued and young talents are getting better aimwise.

That was in the beginning of CSGO when there wasn't opportunity for younger players to play csgo professionally and there were only a handful of organizations investing a lot of money into the game. gtr's work ethic paid off then because there really wasnt anyone else that played the game that much while also going to tournaments etc

he really went downhill after health issues he was pretty decent until then and f0rest/adren are the proof that age doesn't affect THAT much

is forest still good?

adren from major mvp to bot. F0rest is only player who is over 30 and is still decent
2019-07-22 15:58
Yeah his health issues made him drop heavily. I don't know how hard it was for him and maybe he still feels pain but that was really unfortunate.

Maybe lack of motivation, maybe the scene got harder to handle, the thing is no top player from cs 1.6 is doing very good atm. f0rest average, gtr bad, neo very bad.
2019-07-22 15:34
Why would you say f0rest average. I would have said average rating is about 0.95-1.05

True, f0rest has still the potential to make TOP 20 imo. His fragging ability is still on such a high level. Very crisp aim with Pistols and AK for example

Most top players rn were semi-pros in1.6

I think it's a combination of many things The game changed a lot, maybe he's having a harder and harder time to adapt to every changes, nerfs, buffs... As you get older you lose your reflex, someone in his early 20s will on average be faster (not by a huge margin) then someone in his 30s Overall, most of the players are getting better and are yet to reach their peak, while gtr peacked some years ago and has been stagnating ever since

Health issues I’d guess

When you get older, the average amount of shit in your life is substantially higher than in your childhood/yearly adulthood, no matter how successful life you live. (People around you die a lot. Long year relationships crumble a lot around 30. etc. etc.). This shit takes a lot of capacity to focus out of your brain. And by focus I don't mean just the focus during your game. Focus on your goals, training routine etc. . Some people are outliers, like in anything else, but in general, getting old takes a huge toll on your ability to fully focus.

Other players got better. He got worse cause of age. The scene is way tougher for competition than it used to be. The motivation probably isn't as high as it used to be for him. Doubting himself probably as well.
2019-07-22 15:44
His sickness for one took a toll on him but it's a motivation issue as well. He has been playing this game for more than 12 years now. I doubt he has the same motivation in this point at his life.
