Lots of said colonies were developed in better ways than they would have independently. Does this justify having your cultural values cannibalized by an invasive, intolerant, agressive, disrespectful, dated religion in 2019?
The way you are bringing it now is that Islamic people are doing the same to us as we used to do to the countries Europeans colonized, which is horribly false.
Colonization happened partly because the colonials had more wealth, knowledge, technology etc. Do modern day immigrants bring this to the table?
Not really. Sure, there'll be a minority of migrants that are doctors, scientists, businessmen (if you're a 20-something year old drugdealer in a BMW you're not in this category) that are enriching our culture/nations/society.
But you have to face the simple truth that the majority comes here in the hopes to be better off than where they came from for a smaller amount of effort.
Happily facilitating this is where the problem lies. The comparison you're making here makes no sense.
