if you live in a suburb or dont live in a shady part of a city you will most likely never hear of a murder in your life (besides the news of course).

people just have guns here so if someone goes crazy then almost nothing is stopping them from killing lots of people. i wish it wasn't this way but it is. also the media isn't helping by talking about these fuckers 24/7 and posting their manifestos. now every potential shooter knows that he'll be on every major news network and will instantly gain fame.

Most violent crime in the US is concentrated in inner cities, which basically carries on the spirit of segregation. Unless you're poor and from these communities, you won't be dealing with these issues. Of course, there are certain pathologies associated with middle class suburbia, so the US isn't only afflicted with physical violence. There are also other pathologies associated with exurban areas in the US, which are mostly compromised of white Trump voters that are disenfranchised, as jobs have moved to urban centers, and industrial jobs are all but non-existent (and no, Trump didn't bring them back). Drug usage is rampant in these areas, contributing to the opiod epidemic. Crime is also on the rise. When inner cities improve, and ghettos are systematically gotten rid of (which doesn't fix the problem, only moves it), gentrification will ensure that you probably won't be affected much as the "problematic" populations are phased out to other areas. If you're in exurban areas, at least you won't have to worry about gentrification because yuppies only go where jobs exist, and by nature of that, social mobility also exists. So yeah, most of the US is safe, and even most urban centers are safe. Of course, no problems are really fixed, as the US is good at moving around its problems or just downright ignoring them. However, as one angry black pastor once said, "the chickens are coming home to roost".

i've never been a victim of a crime, that really just happens in bad parts of cities.
2019-08-05 02:59
i agree with you in some level, but in fact, the persons holding powers of your country, are perhaps sending their kids and assets to this "unsafe" country.
2019-08-05 03:00
Safe in some parts ofc
2019-08-05 03:01
Just live in the suburbs or smaller cities. Nothing happens in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
