How to balance Minors

1. Both 3rd and 4th place from each minor qualify for the minor play-off Make the minor play-off a 8-team format with a lower bracket, replicating that of the other minor tournements and acting almost like a fifth minor. Previously, this may have been a difficult task to pull off, but now with all minors taking place in the location of the Major, all that needs to happen is four teams stay for a few more days. This will allow for greater region balance, allowing teams who were knocked out of their own minors by top 20 teams to qualify over teams who were knocked out by top 50 teams. 2. Change CIS to Eastern Europe Extend the border of the CIS region to include the baltics, balkans, czechia, slovakia, hungary, turkey and poland. This places teams like CR4ZY, FaZe and mouse would be included in Eastern Europe. This would balance CIS to be about on par with Western Europe and Americas, with Asia lacking behind. This is ok, because Asia acts as a "everywhere else" region, including Australia and Africa, ensuring that every region gets a fair shot at the major. CIS simply has too few countries to justify an entire region, coming in at 11 countries, compared to Asia's 100+.

The way to balance them would be to not have a guaranteed amount of spots for each region, just equal opportunity to compete for spots in the major. Personally I think majors should be about the BEST teams competing, no matter where they are from. Not some shitters getting spots on technicality (this goes for NA too).

I don't really think so, I think region diversity is necessary, but thats why we have the first stage of the major, to filter out the shitty teams

>I think region diversity is necessary Necessary for what exactly? So we can have "DICK" stickers? I don't think it would entirely kill representation from around the world either, it would just make sure that shite teams don't get in at all..... And the first stage IS the major now. Which is the real issue.

Which region do you really think wouldn't be represented that isn't already not represented with this regional system. Even when you break it down into regions they are usually dominated entire by one or two countries (besides eu). It's hardly "global" and it won't make cs more enjoyable. Your country doesn't always get to play the world cup and the games are better for it.
