After seeing Liquid this major I think alot of people overlook how good Astralis really were. Not only were they top1 for a whole year but they also came back from two player breaks and won both majors while *barely* dropping a map. I don't thin you can compare Liquids ""era"" to Astralis as I believe Liquid benefitted from having a stacked tournament schedule in early 2019 so teams didn't have sufficient time to watch demos and anti-strat them. Also I love how there are no more threads about "boring cs style" and "ecovice" as soon as they aren't the best team in the world lol. I guess it's impossible for any team to avoid hate no matter how good u are.

liquid didnt have any strats to anti strat, their only strat was "shoot the head", which is pretty hard to counter

Yet Astralis countered it.

nip era didnt have a major either, they won it outside of the "era", so did they have an era?

liquid nor nip had an era

Liquid era 2 months 😎 NIP era 15 years ago omegalul Only fnatic and Astralis realistically had an "era", if SK didn't have an era then how tf did Liquid have one lol
2019-09-07 15:24
i think SK had a short one then fnatic and astralis no other eras so far liquid just had a good run
2019-09-07 15:26
You can't have a short era, just a good run. Don't forget NiP, they dominated 2012 and 2013 and went 87-0 map wins on LAN
2019-09-17 15:13
if you go by that then i'd say LG/SK had an era as well. they won two majors after all and dominated everyone 2016/2017 yeah but nip was only dominant in a time where practically no serious competition was existing
2019-09-17 15:52
Yes because winning 4 tournaments of 16 is "so dominant", even excluding the b/c-tier events and the showmatches Also SK won 42% of tournaments in 2017, not very dominant as well NiP still dominated didn't they? It was their era, their time at the top. Every era have two things in common, they dominated for more than a year and had more than 50% tournaments in that year. NiP had more than 85%, Fnatic had more than 55% and Astralis had more than 70%. SK? 25% in 2016 with only 4 tournament wins and 42% in 2017 with 8 tournament wins. There was no dominance. Therefore, there was no era.

liquid had no era lmao why do people keep saying this they had a good tournament run just like sk did there has been only 2 (3 if you count early cs) eras
2019-09-07 15:30
Well you gotta count early cs cuz early cs is still part of cs. 2012 and 2013 was NiP's year completely so yeah they had an era... 3 :)

Overlook how good Astralis are? Dude they are just antistrating each team completely and won their third major in a row? What do you mean overlook? (BTW when u say overlook do u mean exaggerate or something else?) Astralis has never dropped a map in champions stage since Faceit London You can't compare two eras from two teams when one has an era and another one doesn't (Liquid never had an era, just a good run)
2019-09-17 15:10
Astralis played a tournament after the break before both of those majors and lost both of those events. Why does everyone always act like they won those majors fresh off the break? If they had been the first events after the break, there's a good chance Astralis would have lost.
