-spoken by EVERYONE in Western world -incredibly simplified grammatical structure -unpredictable pronunciation I actually feel so bad for those who can't speak any language aside from English.

I lived in Italy for one year and it depends where you go. The touristic venues are putting a lot of efforts in English (even French and Spanish) because they just want to suck your money. On the other hand if you go out of the touristic red areas you better speak Italian or you won't be served or you can be charged 2x, stuff like that. I lived in Venice so I saw this phenomenon every day. I even had a british friend, living in Venice but not speaking Italian really. We ordered some drinks and for the exact same she was charged 8€ instead of 4€ for me lmaooo. Just because she ordered in English

People who are born in English speaking countries. It's incredibly difficult to learn a second language when the incentive just isn't there. Think about it, if you already speak English you don't NEED to learn anything else, even though it can still be useful.

There is just no incentive to learn another language man, because for a lot of native English speakers there's not many places you'd need it. I took French for 3 years and it was fun to learn but I dropped it because I didn't need to keep learning it
2019-09-12 00:46
+1.
2019-09-11 17:46
You can look at the bright side of it tho, the fact It's such an easy language allowed most of us to easily learn him while we were growing, not saying kids wouldn't be in able to learn a harder language but still. The only ppl I kinda feel sad are the native english speakers.
2019-09-12 00:35
The reason English has become something is because its actually nothing. England as a place where for a long time nothing. and all it is now it become because of others. Danes. French. so on.. And the language is the same, it has little to do with the people who lived in England. but is more a combined thing of Danish, French, German, spanish and such.. There is a reason English have so many bassicly foreign words as they say. because its build on other languages.. that is also why many have it easier to learn english than some other types of language because for many it is actually rooted in what they already speak. Ofc they still have to learn it but in most cases its more easy.
2019-09-12 00:39
what are you even talking about? Like holy shit it's a language dude, all languages have some stupid fucking shit that native speakers even get wrong. And then you gotta imagine how non-native speakers feel about those things. It's not just an English thing. It's fucking so unbelievably stupid this. I can't even fathom how retarded you'd have to be to have an opinion like this. English is not my native language btw. + I'm fake flagging.
2019-09-12 00:51
-Spoken by "everyone" in the western world. How is this a bad thing exactly? This is a good thing. -Incredibly simplified grammatical structure Again, a good thing. Makes it easy to learn. -Unpredictable pronunciation. Every language has it's quirks. It's the Lingua Franca and that's how it is. It happened to be the English to colonize the shit out of everyone. So what? In some twisted alternate worlds we would've all spoken Dutch, French, Spanish or German. Again, English is not my native language. But your points are fucking retarded.
