That's still a lot. These numbers are inflated by supplement companies to help sell their various products. If you actually look at recent studies most of them fall in the .64-.8 range. Vegan bodybuilders for example pretty much never go higher than .8 yet they still achieve solid physiques.

Yeah all the successful vegan body builders either built there foundation before switching or are taking PED's to offset the disadvantage they have by being vegan. If you just want to look good and lift sure .6 - .8 is a fine range but if you want to be a successful powerlifter / bodybuilder I'd do the standard 1-1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight unless you are carrying a lot of fat.
