From description Thousands of Shia Muslims marked Ashura in the Indian city of Hyderabad on Tuesday. Worshippers engaged in self-flagellation during a procession, in what is consider a symbolic act of mourning the killing of Imam Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, in 680AD. The men chanted, beat their chests and whipped themselves with chains bearing blades, often until they bled. Ashura falls on the 10th of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It is usually marked with mourning rituals and passion plays re-enacting Hussein's martyrdom.
2019-09-12 08:00
Can your government ban such acts and shit?
2019-09-12 08:09
I doubt government will do anything as it is happening for years now Also Hyderabad has quite a lot of muslim population, so i doubt anything will change
2019-09-12 08:16
government wont touch minorities to avoid conflict
2019-09-12 08:19
You wot? Did they send 800,000 soldiers to Kashmir for a sleepover then?
2019-09-12 12:54
They havent even done anything to the minorities, its just fake news and outlying events.
2019-09-12 12:58
What are you on about? They sent 800,000 soldiers to occupy an independent state and establish curfew, cutting internet connection and landlines and putting many MPs in house arrest. People have been killed and injured.
2019-09-12 13:22
>Independent state >Semi-autonomous People been killed? Probably being monkeys violating curfews. The cutting of internet and landlines is to stop organised riots and terrorism, completely justfiable considering the amount of Indian soldiers killed by a fringe group of Pakistani supported Kashmiri insurgents. Putting MPs under house arrest is hardly anything to be concerned about my friend, they are treated fine xD.
2019-09-12 13:29
How are they monkeys when they are being invaded and being forced to stay at home against their will with no communication to the outside world? Do they not have a right to protest being unfairly detained? Isnt that freedom or democracy? India just claimed it was pakistini supported but I believe they denied it and its just Words against words with no proof.
2019-09-12 13:50
India is completely within its rights to withdraw the article. The state is owned by them LEGALLY. They are allowed to enforce a curfew in any state and by being in the country you agree to the LAW which states they can infact do this. They aren't allowing gatherings for the time of high tensions for very obvious reasons, not allowing terrorists to organise attacks on the army, WHICH THEY HAVE ALWAYS DONE bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-47240660 (one of many). It was also proven the the Pakistani intelligence service arms these terrorists / insurgents. It is also well documented that Pakistan is involved heavily in state sponsored terrorism: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pakistan_and_state.. They do not have that right to protest under curfew. Curfew is not unfair detainment, it is legal curfew, massive difference. I dont understand why you are sympathizing with a terrorist country man xD
2019-09-12 13:56
There is no proof that pakistan supported that apart from Indian propaganda. Their occupation is against International resolution, India’s own constitution and UNSC law which shows that Kashmir is a disputed land. India cant alter the IOK status through its own parliament. The Indian government's decree goes against previously signed agreements that India is bound by, respecting the region’s autonomy pending final status negotiations. Yes, it is an illegal occupation and I believe everyone who sees 800,000 troops occupying a land thinks so too.

I don't know what's up with Kashmir, I'm talking how these cases handled in general in rest of the provinces.
2019-09-12 14:15
Well, people in HYD are not involved in terrorism unlike in Kashmir.......What more do you expect if muslim Kashmiris forcibly massacred and extorted 300,000 Hindus out, supporting terrorist org supported by Pakistan, glorifying terrorists who threaten citizens if any one sent their children to school or do jobs in govt orgs? Military gonna step in and whoop your ass. But it's only a curfew for now. That's what is happening in Kashmir. Bitches all over the world claiming genocide in kashmr should google the word and find out its meaning first. STFU and sit down.

Due to Finland’s high standard of living, based on the nation’s welfare system, poverty rates are low. In such a system, the Finnish enjoy an exceptional education system, strong health standards, and safe, connected communities, all of which combine to limit the presence of hunger in Finland. Finland is one of the top-performing countries in education, measured in the fields of reading literacy, math and science by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). According to the National Center on Education and the Economy, education is made publicly available from the primary level through upper secondary level. Naturally, education has been shown to reduce the likelihood of poverty, which remains especially true for Finland, where both the quality and availability of the system is widespread. The same is true for healthcare, where the standard of treatment in Finland ranks highly among other OECD nations. The Finnish also live in safe communities, where 86 percent of respondents claim that they “feel safe walking alone at night,” compared to the OECD average of 68 percent. A low crime rate reflects the nation’s lack of poverty, due to the elements provided in Finland’s welfare system. In more specific terms, Finland has the fourth lowest poverty rate among OECD nations, according to a 2016 report. It is unsurprising, then, that the issue of hunger is practically nonexistent within the country. As the organization Trading Economics reports, undernourishment affected only five percent of the Finnish population in 2008.

You know how our poverty is counted tho right? Unemployed people are basically considered living in poverty even tho they get nearly 1k per month. 8% of people live under the minimum budget which is 700€ per month, poverty is not the same here, you wont be homeless or literally turn to prostitution to not starve to death like in india

Bro whatafuck i just Googled poverty in india Two-thirds of people in India live in poverty: 68.8% of the Indian population lives on less than $2 a day. Over 30% even have less than $1.25 per day available - they are considered extremely poor. Not tryna hate but is it really that bad? I knew i was kinda bad but thats insane dude
2019-09-12 09:44
20-30% 2/3 was in 90s and mid 2000 Also depends on location where i live currently there maybe 5-6% poor people but if i go to some other states it might shoot up to 50-60%

Oof thats rough.. And according to this poverty is counted as people who live below 2$ a day omg
2019-09-12 09:53
Yea men its rough for quite few states. Some states are advancing at very high pace while some are still extremely backward in terms of development upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/t.. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_s.. These 2 show much difference are there betweem different states Also 2$ a day is enough in india. U can have a meal as cheap as 30 rs (0.4$)
2019-09-12 10:03
you know the best part? Our fuckwit govt reduces the poverty line and says "look we have fewer poor people now, we are doing so much for the poor" and our asshat countrymen believe that, what a joke lmao
2019-09-12 12:39
Didn't know world bank and un = india government thehindubusinessline.com/economy/india-l..
2019-09-12 12:48
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_India Indian government does not follow WB defined poverty line. They set the poverty line to 32 RS, are you sense enough to accept that someone earning 32 RS a day is not poor? It's not even enough to meet the basic needs of that day
2019-09-12 12:57
yea but i have given u link of the un report which is at 1.25$ i think . it shows that poverty is rapidly declining in india
2019-09-12 13:34
It still does not justify the fact that the govt is trying to mask the real poor population by lowering the poverty line just to get better numbers.
2019-09-12 14:55
Why are u even looking at govt reports, look at wb or un for real statistics
2019-09-12 14:57
Because rest of the country only looks at govt reports, they don't give a shit about UN or WB because they dont know any better. Shit like this is what is used to brainwash and convince the majority of the people that our country is doing fine and even great when in reality it's a hot pile of shit with recession right around the corner. Prepare yourself for the worst because the current economy is a ticking time bomb about to blow any day and fuck every single person here to the point they cant walk no more

Ah i see Facts About Poverty in Finland Finland’s poverty rate is 5.8 percent, based on a 50 percent threshold of the average income from the OECD’s most recent report. In recent years, the at-risk-of-poverty percentage hit its peak in 2008 at 13.9 percent but dropped to 11.7 percent by 2015. Finland’s low poverty rate is right behind Denmark’s and not too far from the other Nordic countries. In 2016, the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) reported approximately 400,000 people — or 8 percent — of the Finnish population live underneath Finland’s minimum budget of 669 euros.
2019-09-12 09:32

Ya ik it happens in PK but never knew it was such a big thing in India too. How many shias are in India?
2019-09-12 08:21
Bro our Muslim population is more than your country's.
2019-09-12 08:22
Ik but I don't know the sunni-shia ratio of India.
2019-09-12 08:22
higher than your sunni country for sure.
2019-09-12 08:23
well that's easy to do when you have a billion more people in general :p
2019-09-12 08:25
We have significant amount of people from all major religions itw. Our country is way way more diverse than any other country itw let alone comparing with Pakistan. The reason is our constitution.
2019-09-12 08:27
Yes religious freedom is good in India (better than Pakistan at least) but a lot of Hindus seem to want to change that which I just don't understand
2019-09-12 08:28
A lot. lol they don't want to. They just want to do without getting interferred by others. They don't want interference of muslims in their religion. Thats it. Something marriages, entering temples, different areas for both religions, mosques are built only in muslim areas, etc are the consequences. Not so harsh consequences. Now imagine both had intermingled, then there would be riots every day. You should know that no one is gonna change their mind and think both should live together. Also some people want the muslims who don't like India to go to other countries which they like. Thats it. I explained it to you what you don't understand.
2019-09-12 08:33
our kappa boi is a bit dense, innit?
2019-09-12 09:35
yes fam I've argued with him before he despises pakistan in every single way (not uncommon nowadays) and justifies hindu terrorism!
2019-09-12 09:50
and? because he despises Pakistan for their wrongdoings; this drops you with the justification of Hindu terrorism? instead of Indian Nationalism? You both are equally dense.
2019-09-12 10:07
No I was referring to a previous conversation I had with him where he literally did justify hindu terrorism. I didn't come to that conclusion based on him hating Pakistan which is normal for Indians, I came to that conclusion based on a previous convo I had with him. Sorry if you thought that I came to that conclusion myself.
2019-09-12 10:09
you actually baited him with #79 to call him dense. lmao
2019-09-13 07:13

2019-09-12 09:53
Most Muslims in India are Sunnis. The Shias comprise of about 10–15% of total Muslim population in India. The Sunni being biggest Islamic sect is not a single sect but is divided into different sub-sects
2019-09-12 08:25
Bro it is still higher than Pakistani Shia percentage.
2019-09-12 08:28
I dont know men, some sources say 6-10% and some say 20-30%
2019-09-12 08:34
I read it was 6-7% percent.
2019-09-12 08:35
Yea thats what i am saying, don't know which source is correct
2019-09-12 08:36
lmao Pakistan things. They don't even let surverys be conducted independently. It is probably less and they're trying to make it look high.
2019-09-12 08:37

He posted that multiple times only because some of you got offended by that, reported it and the original post got deleted, but if you think about it.. it also shows how ppl who would hit on a famous painting would also be able to self harm based on some ridiculous belief.
2019-09-12 10:03
about the self harming thing, it's of shias belief from islamic religion, not a country thing. People hitting on a painting are not shias, it's irrelevant. Also there has been outburst of memes men hitting on women in the most inept way possible to the point that I doubt its authenticity now
2019-09-12 10:11
You seem to not be able to understand that it is indeed the same exact thing. Ofc it's not a general country thing and ofc it's not the same ppl.. but it only goes to show that if ppl who hit on a painting exist, ppl with incredibly retarded beliefs also exist. I stopped a long ago to be shocked by how stupid ppl can actually be. this is nothing.. u havent seen when the iranian shias celebrate this, thats real shia shit. Theres a video on liveleak where a guy severs half his back and his skin is hanging and bleeds profusely as doctors take him to the hospital asap ( u can see him start to faint as he realizes it was too much, then again, I dont think they appreciate life that much in the first place)

Yeah, i've seen videos of dudes with swords in their sides (where the fat is apparently), entering from the back and going out from the front. Not sure if it was part of this ritual but not sure these guys survived honestly. It's just plain stupid but hey, let stupids be stupids.

this is a brilliant example of how religions destroy the community. These people seem to be literally fucking braindead

Something Im not proud of as a part of India. but Yeah! can't talk anything when it comes to religion. if you do, state laws will immediately guide you to the perfect place called prison.

cant do anything against religion especially in india where any law against such rituals for minorities are treated anti-muslim or extreme #hindutva they feel unsafe all of sudden. Religion is a fucked up thing you know!
