So far I have :
Steam
Microsoft store (for Forza)
Epic Games
UPlay (For R6)
Battle.net (For Overwatch)
Origin (For BFV)
+ I have a game on GOG I want to play too.
Why TF are there so many launchers?
Yup forgot about that one. It's required for GTA which I am not playing right now but as I said in my comment below I would use it for Red Dead 2 if that game ever came to PC. I hate how rockstar and uplay need to be installed when the games are on steam!
Well, excuse them for wanting to earn money with their games so they can produce even more instead of paying cuts to other partys having almost 0 to do with it.
Because I have to use a far inferior launcher that's been proven to be spyware.
Thats why.
Do I need to point out all basic features the epic store lacks?
You got a point with the spyware but overall the launchers are okay and better for the creators of the games.
"Do I need to point out all basic features the epic store lacks?" Go for it.
Steam has many functions such as community things but do you really use or need them besides your friendlist and the workshop?
Heres the thing.
Steam has great features that prevent me from pirating games.
Epic offers 0 features. No friends, no achievements, no workshop, no profiles, nothing. So why would I pay for that when I could get it for free?
Can't tell if you're just baiting right now btw.
First of all, epic has a friendlist just like every other launcher out there. Achievements, workshops (Although games like fortnite for example has a Integrated workshop) and profiles are discussable. Maybe they implement more things like that in the future but who the fuck cares about it anyway, since you still can play your games without any problems. You buy the games to play them legally and to support the creators you silly cunt, also if you pirate games you usally won't be able to play the games online.
Isn't it enough to be able to play your bought games with your friends? The only one greedy is clearly you.
#19 checks out even more.
If im buying a game I want people to know I own it lol.
Otherwise what's the point of paying $50 for it lmao.
What is it with you autists and wanting to babysit the poor developers? I dont give a shit about them. If im paying $50 then I want to play on the launcher of my choice. I dont mind as much when the creator of the game has their own launcher, thats their prerogative, but forcing people to use the epic store is literal greed. It benefits them at the cost of us.
Not to mention Rockstar (I don't have it installed right now but I will for Red Dead 2 if it ever comes to PC) and the Bethesda launcher for ES6 if it's an exclusive.
If this keeps going on I might just pirate the exclusives.
i installed freaking twitch launcher the other day aswell for minecraft mods, i ended up have minecraft installed twice because of it. i 100p agree with you
companies want 100% of the money from their games instead of selling them on steam or epic / want that bonus from lesser known companies selling stuff on their launcher for example epicgames
Every two weeks. So far I've gotten some nice games like Subnautica, Alan Wake, Batman Arkham Knight, Transistor, INSIDE etc
I'm not going to buy anything on Epic, but I'm willing to install the launcher for free games.
dont have to pay % of sales to steam (for some its either big profitable games or have delusions of taking over steam), probably more control over updates and how much they can promote their own product on platform
