Best way to learn finnish is to buy or borrow a book called "Aapinen". Its literally finnish abc and its given to first graders in elementary school but its very helpful if you want to learn the best language in the world

I can't recommend learning finnish unless you are planning to move to Finland. Finnish languake is mostly useless and also Finnish grammar is so complicated that it would take a very long time to learn finnish who is living outside Finland and is also already adult so learning new languakes becomes overall more difficult

Hello FocuseD, thank you for taking interest in our language. Unfortunately this language is unavailable to learn for foreigners.

There are no tips, tricks or shortcuts, unfortunately. You've just got to stick with it. I feel you though, even I make grammatical mistakes occasionally when I rush sentences and I'm a native. I guess most Finns will probably also have experienced the same thing. I guess you're lucky in the sense that you have a father that speaks Finnish fluently, perhaps you could ask him to help with the aspects that you find particularly difficult. There isn't a lot of Finnish language resources online compared to what's available for 'major' languages, so I would make use of any native speakers you know irl for help if and when possible.

There's a reason why Finnish is one of the most difficult language in the world. Even we natives struggle with it :D

Don't learn finnish, because it will make you miserable. The language is so monotonic and sad that you should avoid it at all costs if you want to be happy. And there really isn't anything to help learning you just have to do it with sisu.

You will do fine with simple Finnish. So don't stress so much about it. It will come with time.

I love that you want to learn finnish! Its hard to say because we didnt have to learn it the same way. But I think Finnish is much more flexible than grammar books say, when it comes to understanding. (#129) So don't get lost in the grammar! And understanding is most important. When someone speaks broken finnish what a grammar book wouldn't agree with, it can still be understood what they mean. So I think pronunciation is important, so you understand all the words, and then little grammar bits and pieces will improve with time. With any language its very good to listen to the language, and if you can find someone to speak it with that would be great ofc. Whenever you meet a finnish person ask if you can speak finnish with them, its the best way to learn :D I'm not really good with advice but dont give up!

Forget about textbooks and grammar rules and just start hearing and using the language. Its the only way as Finnish language is super retarded and no one can actually remember everything to be honest. Finns just know it by heart since they have heard it 24983409543 times.
