Pc builders help plz
Egypt fakef(l)agger
I am big noob when it comes to pc building. But what i dont know is how important a motherboard is. Does it really matter if all of the parts are compatible with each other?

for performance it doesn't matter at all. it does matter when it comes to features

Not really if you are not going to overclock your processor. Just make sure that your motherboard have enought slots for SSD -harddrives etc.

EVERYTHING has to be compatible in order to work. The CPU has to fit the motherboard, The ram slots have to be the right size as the ram, Even the fans should be the right size for your case or CPU heatsink. Just use Pcparkpicker.com though if you want to see if the part youre choosing are compatible. its right like 99% of the time & it has prices and links to all the retailers selling each part

well ofc it matters that all the parts are compatible with eachother
2019-10-02 10:15
Yea i worded that wrong. I should have said Does it matter as long as they're all compatible

Only pay more for an expensive motherboard if you like the additional features and want to overclock a lot.

some motherboards are better for overclocking but you should look at the chipset, most of the time you have three options: cheap (first letter is A or H), medium (first letter is B), high end (first letter is Z or X) usually the B series boards are a good value since they give you the features you need while not overcharging you for other things comparison of the chipsets: amd: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_AM4#Chipset.. intel: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGA_1151#Kaby_Lake.. if you have the chipset you want and you're not overclocking then you should look at all the other features you want like usb ports and ssd connections
