Yes but it doesnt mean it cant be for example in Sydney

Unlikely since Valve stated a specific timezone they want for the majors.

Well for the players it make most sense to have in Europe since most players and teams are in Europe. and it allways effect things. Asia and Australia would be the worst since that is some of the hardest travels and timezones and would effect players alot and most likely give a worse product. plus it would not be good for many fans. America can work not as bad as Asia or Australia but some of the issues is still there overall, however not to the same extend. But they do tend to spread it out. and since the last times have been in Europe they most likely put one in america somewhere.. hope it will be Canada.

Ye canada or even Sydney would be great, always fancy to host tournaments where cs scene isnt so good

it would bring more interest to cs in those places, which would be a 200 IQ play for them. Its most likely gonna be somewhere like denmark, a place that hasnt had a major yet, and is in Europe, and Valve really like Europe
2019-10-08 04:40
Not sure they will give Denmark one right now.. first so many fake fans hate on them already. Also for some reason I think Refresh will be the first to host a major in Denmark, and they dont do majors,, yet anyway. But it should happen at one point no doubt. And well as stated before there is a reason for Europe. most teams and players are there. it work best for them and thus gives the best cs... to move it to Australia is not player friendly. and afterall its them that have to perform.

if its in australia an australian team will win major
2019-10-08 14:36
Not sure... they will most likely get far because better teams will suffer because of the location. but im not sure they will win over the very best.. there is .. a lot of teams better, and they will all need to fall and about who they will meet. its possible. only place it would be possible. but still not likely.
2019-10-08 17:13
Sydney would not be good.. its Australia.. I know if you dont think about it it seem like a good idea.. But it bassicly hurt the players, and effect them. it would not be good for them and thus not the play people get to see... And with the time it would mean a lot of people that normally watch will not be able. people from where most of the players and teams come from. Canada is a good american options since it sometimes have to be america even though it isnt perfect either.

Copenhagen should get a major. Good crowds, central location and it will be a massive event there unlike having it in a place like London or Berlin where the city is too big for the event to get a lot of attention

Na personaly i dont fancy the Denmark crowd , no offence but we kind of cheer too much for our own teams instead of cheering for more, i would like to see where u can cut one sided crowds

2019-10-08 03:43
Fair enough. the problem with one sided crowds is that really the only places to get unbiased crowds are Cologne, London, and Katowice which all have gotten majors (granted Cologne should hold every major but that will never happen)

Fun fact: Cluj-Napoca was DreamHack's last major, I guess even Valve couldn't stand how shit it was.

It felt like some tier 3 lan in an arena that looked like some school play with folding chairs lined in rows and 90% of the seats empty. It was a disgrace for an event that is suppose to be one of the biggest.

Rules released stated that the timezone has to be suitable for peak viewership so, between the EU and NA regions, I believe that was why Syndey was ruled out a while back. Look at some tweets during Sydney 2019, a lot of key figures were debating it.

but the last cs tournament by epicenter was pretty nice
2019-10-08 16:38
first majors can only be held in europe and americas cuz of time zone. second EU has held 3 majors in a row so next major will be elsewhere. third CIS has performed well in csgo but they had never held a major. additionally CIS has an active organizer who had not held a major before called epicenter. last but not least russia and ukraine cant hold majors cuz of political danger. so the answer is quite obvious: epicenter minsk major 2020!

It's funny how everyone complains about sydney having shit time zones. For me to watch any tournaments i have to stay up until 2am at the earliest which completely fucks up my sleeping schelude. Stop fucking complaining about 1 event with shitty times when you can watch every other tournament without going past midnight
