Iran AryanKurmanj
hey my mom just got me a 3 months old male thailandish breed (he is mixed) he is so funny and i enjoy his company a lot but the biggest problem so far is that he is shitting all over the house. they gave us a puppy trainer liquid but it just does not work. any tips on the pooping situation and first time dog owners in generals? thanks?

He's a baby, until 7-8months they cannot control their sphincter, so it's impossible to not do it. Everytime he gets excited, after eating, after waking up...he needs to pee, so you have two options. Or go down quick before he does it, or let him do it in one place in the house like in a newspaper on the floor and give him a treat and social reward every time he does it. At 5-6months you should start to do the change so he waits until he gets outside. Don't punish him or he'll learn to do it when you cannot see him. What do you think that does a liquid? You need to teach and show first what you expect, there's no magical solution. Start to learn to get out of silver mens (((

how can i teach him to poop in one place? ive tried having newspaper already but he just does it all over the place
2019-10-15 11:34
highly disagree about those months. i had like 4 puppies already(different breeds) and i started almost immidiately and its not only about going outside(to pee/poop) but also about showing him HIS place, about food and many more things. if you will wait 7-8 months your puppy will make those habbits by himself and its much harder to teach him different habbits. dont waste your time and start ASAP if you have time for it. go outside every hour at least and reward him if he will do it outside and in 6 months you will not have this problem(only sometimes if puppy will be home alone)

Of course that if you have high availability is best to go outside every hour, but if you cannot do that, is better to teach him to do it on a newspaper than all over the floor. When he's got the age, you take out the newspaper from inside the house and problem solved. No newspaper no place to pee. And to do the transition if he don't want to pee outside because of that, is so easy as to take a couple of days the newspaper outside and give him some rewards and he'll infer that he have to pee outside pretty quick.
2019-10-15 11:50
i never used newspaper for this to be honest...i always had like 2-3 weeks break from work when i brought new puppy to my home:) i also never had a problem to show him his place like some people do and they are mad bcs their dog always jump on their bed or couch and its sooo simple. before you will take him home for the first time just go for "longer" walk(not "that" long bcs its puppy:D) and then he will be tired AF so just show him his place and you won:D
2019-10-15 11:56
You need to be prepared to spend a lot of time with him outside. Praise when they go to the toilet outside, let them know they have done wrong when they go inside, everytime they go inside let him know they did wrong by pointing at the shit and telling it no, then put the dog outside, regardless if it needs to go again or not and sit outside wit him for a bit. When i used to train puppies i would often spend up to 6 hours a day sitting out my back yard, they pickup that it's cleaner and the best choice to go outside quicker if you give them the opportunities. I laugh at people who shout and moan about their dogs shitting inside when the dog never gets out, please dont be one of those. Get some training mats or old newspaper and set them right at the door, just incase it cant make it, it's a young dog, mistakes will happen. But you need patience and time to train him.

When he is little you can teach him to poo on the training mats, when you see him start peeing or pooping just quickly take him and put him on the paper. If you want him to pee and poop outside more then take him out 3 times a day and reward him for pooping outside and discipline him for pooping inside. Ez Edit : everything that #10 wrote

10/10, cant add more.
2019-10-15 11:34
maybe go outside with him sometimes...?
2019-10-15 11:33
Every time it begins to take a shit you tale it ouside (or to where ever it is okay for it to shit and stay with it for a while and applaud it does it in the right setting after some time it will associate taking a shit with going outside

Look what you must do: Spectate your doggo for shit-preparing movement (i guess you'll undestand what i've meant) and take him and go outside very fast. You must be ready to do this like 8-10 times per day until he's 6-7 month old. This will teach him that he can poop only outside
2019-10-15 11:54
"shit-preparing movement" this actually made my laugh haha :DDD i can see right now my dachshunds preparing position haha:D

+obviously go outside with him
2019-10-15 12:07
Every hour, pick him up and take him outside to go to the bathroom... Be consistent and it will all pay off, eventually your puppy will sit by the door to wait to be taken outside, I have a puppy and had the same issue but with doing the same routine over and over daily.. Eventually she started to look at me and sit by the door and waited for me to take her out! Consistency and doing things over and over again will help you... its all about repetition and routine! Good luck bro!

Really easy mate!! Always when you come back home go strait for a walk!! When he do his necessities, give him like, 3/4 treats!! He'll learn really fast.
