I know you are little bit excited because you just discovered Pink Floyd, which is arguably one of top 5 rock bands of all time. However, you should listen to people who know more than you about certain topic. Even Pink Floyd members would say that The Beatles are objectively the greatest band and that they influenced them in many ways. Did you know that Pink Floyd in their beginnings recorded in the same studio where The Beatles were making their arguably best album (which is even considered even by critics as the best Album of all time - Sgt.PLHCB) ? It was the first concept album of all time and Pink Floyd members said that when it came out they just listened to it in silence till it ended and you know what happend 6 years later ? Dark Side of the Moon, which was their concept album. If you say that they are overrated - in your opinion maybe, who cares. In opinion of critics, another musicians and generally population (sold records), top 4 bands of all time would be The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones.. but you always start with The Beatles.
