Then you are blind.
nvm i agree with #2
friend_of_pasha = friend of mine
I see no difference.
Only difference they are better at hiding there cheats :-)
mm is clearly superior
fpl full of cheaters
Oh cmon, stop trolling. Everyone knows MM > FPL, pro league are silvers in comparison to globals.
Says more about you than it says about fpl and mm, dude.
glorified matchmaking. Used to be cool to watch when it was new and actual pros spent time on it.
It looks like MM because it is like MM. It doesn't really RANK more than ONE aspect of the game. Mechanical ability/skill. Sure you can see more statistics and look for other elements then mechanical skill/ability using both MM and FPL. But it's like if football clubs only looked at goals scored when measuring a players ability.
MM and FPL has yet to find the next great IGL or a "support player" if that even is a term that is used theese days, all of that still travels word to mouth like it used too in earlier versions of CS. And at the moment it's a tough ask for MM and FPL to find those players because they are simply not built for doing that.
In the 1.6 era and earlier there were similar problems but I'd say it's gotten worse. We've been fed even more stats than we had back then but it's almost all revolving through the simple aspect of your K/D or ADR. Sure you can measure the effectiveness of your flashbangs and other aspects that might be speaking of a diffrent skill but it's not REWARDED too a similar level and half of us, (and that is being generous) doesn't understand what the more advanced stats i.e heat maps etc are telling us. Or maybe more likely probably doesn't even bother looking at them.
Counter-Strike has always been a TEAM based game, communication, SOCIAL SKILLS, networking, reading your opponents moves, counter moves. KNOWLEDGE of the game i.e certain smokes, flashes, boosts, bugs AND mechanical skill is what CS is really about.
I also have a theory that it's even gotten worse since the community moved from IRC into steam groups, there is so much that is unseen that was seen before in my experience. So many networking possibilites destroyed or made severly more difficult.
The pros AND managers used to be a chatbox away! Sure you were mostly ignored if you directly messaged without them knowing who you were at all but you had the possibility. Now you try getting to chat with one of them, get into a mix/gather/inhouse with them. I don't know how hard it is now but I THEORIZE it's ALOT harder.
The death of the old LAN scene hasn't helped either. That is one of the main things that destroyed the swedish scene in my opinion. Before the pro's used to come to LANs like Rendevouz/RZ and sometimes even dreamhack with mix teams and play just for fun, playing with pros from other pro teams or just with their IRL friends. But at the same time that was bound to happen as the game grew. But passing on the torch and knowing who to pass it onto I again THEORIZE, is harder theese days.
We need a new system to measure SKILL. FPL and MM mainly ranks individual and mechanical skill in a game based on teamwork.
