These big folks do 25-30kg benchpresses while i am struggling with 2,5kg. I’m feeling so embarassed.

Expected from midget andy
2019-10-29 20:37
midgets are genetically stronger than normal ppl
2019-10-29 20:41
no?
2019-10-29 20:49
yes, they have bigger potential in terms of strenght, its not some news, pretty common fact
2019-10-29 21:04
0/8 Why are no midgets strongman then? How many body builders are midgets?
2019-10-29 21:14
actually many body builders arent tall at all
2019-10-29 21:23
to be body builder you just have to have alot showing muscle. It's easy for smaller people because they have smaller frame, but longest and heaviest like ronnie coleman are considered the best body builders.
2019-10-29 21:31
+1 Arnold aswell.
2019-10-29 21:34
Some are, but not most mr olympia candidates etc. And depends on where you draw the midget line, bodybuilding is not primarily about strenght either its more about looks. Strongmans are usually taller, Eddie hall, brian shaw and Hafþór Björnsson are all tall, that won recent strongman years.
2019-10-29 21:33
midget line is like 180cm but yeah best bodybuilders are like 185+
2019-10-29 21:41
Obviously a normal sized person is going to be stronger. But P4P midgets have supieror strength. I thought this was common knowledge?!
2019-10-29 21:34
Every world record holder is long and heavy as fuck. Small people are good at body weight execrises but do not have more strength.

You said you are benchpressing 2.5kg, so it's your mistake everyone thinks it's a bait now. You should have expressed yourself better. Still feels like you were just trying to bait, who says they bench 5kg instead of 25 for example? lmao

it's obviously a bait, even said that the big guys bench 30 kg
2019-10-29 20:53
start with 20kg? haha, only if you are dumb and have 0 clue you should start with 10-12 and focus on muscle memory instead of just lifting

10-12 is nothing. Everyone I know started with around 20kg except for one friend that was skinny as fuck and he started with like 15kg. Lifting 10-12 would be a waste of time. And I definitely don't have 0 clue as I've been already working out for 3,5 years. It's all preference, and benchpress is a strenght excercise where you should do less reps with higher weight than more reps with lower weight.
2019-10-29 21:23
you meaning 20 on each side or 20 in total? im talking each second, higher weight is for powerlifters muscle builders do less weight with more focus

everyone in the gym started somewhen. this anxiety goes away after 1-2 weeks of training, when you realize that everyone just minds his own business and doesn'tr really care

pretty funny, this is probably true, but not as negative P.S. if a chick doesnt date you because you arnt lifting enough in the gym, you probably got lucky in the long run

At least you're working on yourself men )) respecc
2019-10-29 21:25
Most people who go to the gym don't care how heavy you lift. As long as you have proper form and you're doing exercises that actually exist instead of some made up shit, people will respect you. Or that was my experience at least. 1st time I went to the gym I was doing bicep curls with 3kg dumbbells. No one made fun of me, everyone was friendly, even had a nice chat with a few regulars. Now I'm one of the regulars and do bicep curls with 15kg dumbbells. I don't look down on anyone who doesn't lift heavy, (Hell, I still wouldn't say that I lift heavy) and I believe that 99% of people don't look down on those people either. You'll get there eventually. Just getting your ass to the gym and working on yourself is respectable enough in it's own right.

2019-10-29 21:30
2,5kg on each side? For how many reps? If you are doing 10s with 22,5-25 you can probably do a single or more with 40 kilos
2019-10-29 21:32

Nobody cares about other's weights in gym, only newcomers, because they're curious what weights do other people lift. You will get stronger eventually if you keep adding weights slowly.
