Honestly lifting is the best. You get a nice boost of self-confidence, you get a dopamine release and you make your body look great and all you have to do is push some heavy things around. How come you don't go to the gym 3-4 times a week?

Because you're [probably] still young. But when you get older and don't exercise you muscles atrophy and you feel worse and worse with time. So after 30 y/o most people have to work out to prevent muscle atrophy, feel good, look good and slow down aging.

used to lift every week in a gym. saw no results and it was just tiring after studying/class and all that stuff you just want to sleep all day. Quit after half a year I think. Also the guys that scream when they are lifting was quite alarming to me and it always bothered me when I have to share gym with other people. There was even one guy who think he was buffer than me wanted to sit at the place I was lifting even when I was not done.

2-3 times per week. Depending on motivation/tiredness level. Used to do it alone and I was never comfortable with doing it around people. Sometimes I also do it after running for 30 mins

helps a lot with core strength, something I've always struggled with. obviously the breathing is a great bonus too, I wouldn't say it relaxes you, but more clears your head and gives you more focus. It's why I still use those breathing tactics

Lost my motivation dude. I remember I tried so hard(run 30-60 mins every 3-4 days) in my last senior high school to beat my opponents on 4km race. I get dead last it was so devastating for me. Same feeling when this thing didn't workout :((

Are you healthy and able to do sports ? Then your life isnt destined. Lifting cant backfire you, and everything productive cant backfire you in general if you search enought informations. Search what you should eat during the day, you have to sleep at least 7,5 hours every day, go to the gym 3-4 times a week, find a proper training plan and you are ready to go, you have to patient to, you cant expect to look different in a week or a month, it will get better after 3 months. You will need to enjoy the current moment of working out, feeling that you are close to your dream with every single repetition, thats how you gonna build the discipline to be motivated everytime.

I get bored without company. And all my friends are brainwashed to the point where they think people who workout actually do drugs, just because most of them use protein supplements. I tried explaining but no use. Another factor is accessibility. I live in a suburban area. Gyms with good facilities are a bit far and with 12 hours taking up my work+travel time, I don't feel the motivation to work out. My office does have a small gym in a 600sqft area with some good stuff but the space is less. I've recently started going about 2-3 times a week running the treadmill for about 30mins and spending the rest of my free time on warmups + weights. Let's see how long it continues.

Lifting can be dangerous as well. Got my right biceps cut in 2, they drilled a nail in my right shoulder and took what was left of my right biceps and stringed it with a cord into that nail. Bin over a year since I had surgery and still can't lift :(

Bench press another exercise which is very dangerous for beginners. Make sure you know how to do it properly. I would start with full body exercises if your still new. You can hit every muscle 3 times a week and in less time then you would with barbells. Or you can look for schedules made by professionals. Just make sure you know what you're doing or you won't get ripped.
