What GPU to buy?
s1mple |
Ukraine george69troll
Since I'm going to get 144 Hz monitor, new gpu is also needed. Is GTX 1070 Ti is good enough nowadays and worth its money->value correlation?

Depends On What Games You Are Going To Play
2019-11-08 15:11
Right. Well, I can play a lot of different stuff, just want to be sure I'll be able to run it on 1080P medium to high settings

Yes, but most other games are not and when you use a pretty weak gpu like to 1050 you're barely going to get around 60 fps in new games

Do you mean 1660 Ti? yea, I heard it actually doesn't worth the price for its value
2019-11-08 17:38
All that know much about computers just laugh about that card, that some are stupid enough to buy it only cause they have no clue what so ever about pc.... it sucks at everything. Why even release a "new" card that aren't even close to older models and still cost much... i comment on a guy that talked about the 1050Ti as well, if nvidia always buy 2070 2070Ti or higher if you got the money... don't buy shit cards that are lower in numbers, usually always like this with nvidia.

Don’t bother getting a new GPU 1070Ti is great as long as you’re sticking to 1080P. Might be able to run some 1440P but I’d stick to 1080 for the best experience with that GPU.
2019-11-08 15:12

Even a 1070 performs better by few percentage. Since 1660Ti didn't have dvi-d I went with 1.5 years old 1070.

if you already have the 1070 ti then you're fine. If not then get the 2060

Why would you buy a 1660Ti when you could just save a bit more for a 2060? Also the non Ti 1660 is the better of the two because you can OC is to Ti’s stock setting lmao. His 1070Ti is fine.

2019-11-08 15:35
Yeah agree. I buy it because the money is there at that moment and i have OCD. If you search for price to performance thing, get the 1060 or 1070, its pretty much enough for CSGO
2019-11-08 15:52
yea, since I'll be playing 1080P. most games, it should be just okay for stable 60-90 fps

2019-11-09 13:12
used vega 56 usually 30$ cheaper than used 1070 and from most benchmarks that i have seen it is either 2 fps faster or 4 slower in csgo and it is usually faster in other games

2019-11-08 16:55
hope cs go will be alive forever mens))) !!!
2019-11-08 16:57
Hello bro, I also have GTX 1070ti 8GB with 16GB DDR4 ram and Ryzen 2700x and it works awesome for the price
2019-11-08 17:04
Hi there! Nice to hear that, I hope my Intel Core i7 4790K will be enough to use the potential of that video card.. and if not, I will buy new cpu mb a few months later
2019-11-08 17:10
rtx 2080 ti
2019-11-08 17:06
yes a 1070ti is perfect for cs. lots of fps and good price compared to the stronger ones.
2019-11-08 17:12
great! most ppl say the same, that must mean i'm on the right track :)
2019-11-08 17:18
yup you can play every game at nearly max and get good frames, depending on your settings you can get 300fps on cs
2019-11-08 17:20
btw, mb you know if my cpu - intel core i7 4790K - gonna be enough for gpu like that? or need upgrade it too?
2019-11-08 17:20
tell us what cpu u have
2019-11-08 17:21
Intel Core i7 4790K currently bro
2019-11-08 17:23
should be fine i guess good balance imo
2019-11-08 17:24
ohh, good, I thought u gonna say that I need spend more cash on cpu as well xd
2019-11-08 17:25
nah man :d its still a good cpu for gaming :)
2019-11-08 17:29
If you can then hold out a bit on the purchase. AMD is nearing bringing out something new meant to be better than what Nvidia has, considering the tech they are using with their new CPU's it could be something really special. It would then mean Nvidia lowering prices and a viable alternative to what they offer.
2019-11-08 17:23
ty for advice, I actually wanted to wait anyway in order to catch some sweet sales, I really hope it will pay out bro
2019-11-08 17:30
You are welcome. I am in the same exact situation in that I am waiting to see what AMD comes with. I am building a new PC, that is I am putting together a shopping list only the GPU is missing as I want to see the AMD offering - hopefully sometime in Q1. Then I will choose the GPU and also go with what CPU + motherboard combo that is most appealing. Only thing nailed down so far is case, PSU and secondary storage as I will carry that over. Likely also my Noctua CPU cooler as they offer a free CPU mount so I can reuse my current cooler.
2019-11-08 17:36
Sounds great, hope you'll get the best value for your money) Good luck!
2019-11-08 17:57
Thx. Likewise.

2019-11-08 17:31
1080ti for 1080p gaming XDD
2019-11-08 17:46
it's overkill for now, but it might not be in the next 5 years.
2019-11-08 17:48
1050ti for me averages abt 100 - 200 fps on low settings in cs. entirely depends on the map. (i have a weak ass cpu btw)
2019-11-08 17:39
weak ass gpu as well.

The 4790k is a beast, it can handle great graphics cards. Slap in whatever you can afford, just make sure you cool that CPU appropriately.
2019-11-08 17:52
sure thing! my old motherboard, on the other hand, is on fire right now, I might need to buy a new one
2019-11-08 18:03
In 2013 I assembled a PC with a 4770k wondering if it would still be good in 2020... the answer so far is absolutely yes.

2019-11-08 20:06

2019-11-08 20:05
cause no much money left for other upgrades man
2019-11-08 20:08
than go some amd gpu and buy better cpu cuz they are more important for fps 150+ first person games
2019-11-08 20:09
aight, gonna do some research on amd stuff as well
2019-11-08 20:26
gtx 1070 ti will hold out until much better options will arrive during following next 2 years. Videocards from last few years are overpriced and underwhelming. But next year Intel is entering GPU market, NVidia moves on to 7nm and AMD will have to step up too.
2019-11-08 20:11
I'm not really in a hurry to buy fist best thing I can find, however I would like to get something good in the next few mounths period, mb if a good sale on PC components be available I will get some for a fair price
2019-11-08 20:23
1070, i bought it from second hand
2019-11-08 20:25
how much did you pay for it?
2019-11-08 20:39
its some time (maybe year and half), but i payed about 450$

not cheaper, but performance difference is also substantial, so probably worth checking out

Also, I would check out the 5700xt. It is a bit better than the 2060 Super. But I'm not sure what the prices are like in your country. Here the 2060 Super is cheaper than a 1070 ti.
2019-11-08 20:41
wow, that's insane, mb I should send you the money and you buy and send me 2060 Super back haha xDD anyway, thx for suggestions

1660 super - 230 usd 1660 ti - 280 usd 2060 - 350 usd 2060 super - 400 usd 1070ti - 500 usd 2070 super - 500 usd 1070ti not worth it
2019-11-08 21:06
1070ti is cheaper here than 2070 super, although I did a bit of research and noticed that at some shops the difference can be rather small, although it depends on the company of production of GPU itself

1060 is more cost efficient than the 1070 imo. Get the 3GB one if all you are playing is CS, else get the 6GB one.

+1 I run the same card, there isn’t a title out there I can’t play with 144+ FPS
2019-11-09 16:47
if u are buying new don't get the 10 series anymore it's not worth it (unless you get 1650 / 1660 ti ( or the super versions )
2019-11-08 22:12
let's say I could afford 2060 super, would you recommend it?

It's like a 2070, I'm actually thinking about buying it too ( i have a i5 8600k + 1060 6gb but I just want some more frames in CS ( for when in smokes and shit) and other games too, raytracing is a nice feature too

yeah, game requirements with each year higher and higher man
2019-11-09 18:25
1070 ti is a really good buy any game on medium to high settings 1080p great preformance most game over 240 fps
2019-11-08 23:46
144 would be enough tho xd

Can't go wrong with a GTX 1070. If you want a budget option check out some of EVGA's Nvidia cards. You can get decent cards fairly cheap (I got a EVGA 650 4 GB FTW edition card years ago for 250$ when most Nvidia cards were way more expensive at the time. So...if need of a budget option check out EVGA cards). Edit: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SC Gaming Edition (6 Gigs DDR5 RAM) example: amazon.co.uk/EVGA-GeForce-GAMING-Support-06G-P4-6163-KR/dp/B01IOWT538

Ofc dude, even 1050 ti is enough for CSGO. I have 1050 ti +i3 8100 and it`s 200+ fps, so Im fine, also has 144 hz
2019-11-09 18:30
I have 1070 Strix on 1080p 144Hz, can play everything, not new games on 144Hz but on gsync everything is more than playable.
